Engine Oil Leaking problems of the 2013 Kia Motor Sorento

There is some kind of fluid leak, possibly oil, in the engine compartment. I did have vehicle checked in 2020 for a recall but they did nothing about the leak. Now the leak is causing engine to smoke after being driven. I know there is an engine recall on my vehicle but my local dealership chose not to address it on my last visit. I now have left a message to get vehicle checked again and no one has called back. I called kia customer service and spoke with ryan in California and he said there are no recalls on my vehicle. Should my vehicle be checked under sc200? my vehicle has all the symptoms that fall under that recall. I am greatly concerned about engine fire/failure.

The engine has an oil leak and now a cracked 4th cylinder causing a $638 bill at the mechanic to keep the car running at bare minimum. The engine was a recall replacement and I believe it should be part of the 12/2/2020 recall. This is causing hardship for my family.

The contact stated that a metal noise occurred coming from the engine. After driving four miles, the felt at if it was losing power and a cloud of smoke was coming from the rear. The vehicle was not take to a dealer or an independent mechanic for a diagnostic testing. The failure mileage was 120,000. Aw.

While driving my 2013 kia Sorento sx, the oil switch failed and leaked out all the oil in one day (less than 15 miles) causing engine issues. The issue happened while in motion and the oil light flickered on and off. This seems to be a known issue with these engines.

All the oil leaked out and the engine froze. I was stuck on a major highway. There was a recall for this. I went to the dealer and they offered free oil change this was when recall notice came out but they never fixed the problem.

When I was driving on a highway,car suddenly stopped with big noise and now leaking oil from engine and not able to start my car.

The engine seized while I was driving on the interstate. The engine did have a minor oil leak since the time of purchase from the dealership, it was monitored and replinished reqularly and had been done the same day the engine seized.

I have taken my 2013 kia Sorento to my local dealership after the latest engine recall. They upgraded software but gave no further explanation. Everytime I get my oil change its almost empty. The past 2 oil changes there has been almost no oil. Yesterday, I was driving, on the highway and check engine, oil, battery, light came on flashing and the car stalled in the middle lane of the highway. I was able to pull over and call a tow truck. I turned the vehicle off and 15 min later while waiting for tow truck I tried to turn it on and it came one. I canceled the tow and I am at the dealership today . My car is not leaking oil anywhere and I know there has been a engine recall on my make, model and year. I am afraid of the cost of the repair and the safety of a vehicle that stops in the middle of the highway.

I was driving my 2013 kia Sorento yesterday on the highway going about 50-55 mph when all of a sudden it stalled and the engine stopped. I pulled over immediately and noticed it was extremely hot and out of oil. I still had 1,000 miles to go according to the oil change sticker from the mechanic. No oil warning light ever came on to indicate low fuel. There are also no signs of oil leaking in or around the vehicle. It was actually driving great the day before when I drove 50+ miles on mostly highway. I had my 2013 kia Sorento towed to a local mechanic and just informed me the engine will need to be replaced. I did some research because I'm confused to what happened here and found that I'm not alone. Many other kia & Hyundai owners have experienced this same issue. "the national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) reportedly states that more than 6 million Hyundai and kia vehicles have been affected by the engine defect since 2015". What are my options? I am currently looking at an estimate of $6220. 00 to install a new engine. I need help. What are my options?.

Rear main oil seals leaking causing engine problems.

I see no oil leaking from my car, but I have to add 3_quartz of oil every 2,000 miles. Now I bought this car from private seller. Now I have researched this problem and think this car is in service oil check because it has an orange dipstick. However I don't know how to verify this.

On cold start up, car expels grayish-blue smoke. Has a strong rattle, like bearings rattling, then subsides once engine is warm. Car does not leak oil, has had routine maintenance. Has never over-heated. Found recall # sc147 which appears to detail bearing issue but is not listed as a recall for my VIN#. Fear of fire or engine seizing.

Every time I get an oil change there's no oil in my car there is also no leak at all I've always got my oil change early or on time.

The engine began consuming noticeable amounts of oil around 80,000 miles. Confirmed no leaks or defects where present with mechanics & dealership. At 100,00 miles the engine burns off 4-5 quarts in less than 1000 miles. This requires constant monitoring, risk of engine failure, & high cost of maintenance.

My engine has no leaks of oil yet ran out of all but 1 qt, and caused my to get spun bearings, and now engine is ruined. This is less than a 4 year old car and no indicator lights ever came on saying I was low on anything. Also just had major fluids all changed in car less than 6 months ago. It is over the 100,000 warranty so now I have to get a new engine. Looking to see if this is an issue with any other owners. The engine is the v6 engine, the smaller engine was recalled for similar issues, yet mine wasnt in the recall.

My 2013 kia Sorento should become a part of the recall that is currently involving Kia Motors. We changed our oil and noticed it to be what my husband called a bit lumpy. Took our car into the local garage and they told us there was a leak on the top of the motor. We planned on fixing this the following payday, but instead left the dealership to a high pitched squeal and that was it the car never moved again. The rods were shot and caused motor to seize. Our local garage, bending wrenches believes there is evidence to support our claim. We have paid for a new engine to be placed in vehicle and are hoping to become a part of this recall and be reimbursed for this manufacturer defect. We have all paperwork from garage and also kept the oil that had been changed from the kia showing that there is probably little fleks of the metal from the rods in this oil which caused it to become lumpy. Not sure where else to turn for help with this claim.

No oil leak but every oil chang there is no oil steering is just not right.
