A few months back, maybe osept/oct my abs light, tire pressure light came on (yellow) and I had it checked and they said it was a wheel sensior and its very costly so as of yet it hasnt been fixed. Now yesterday my brake light at the bottom of my dash came on (red) and its a double and said break. I dont know why im having so many problems with this car but it will be my last kia. I own 2 and both have had problems and I keep both serviced on time and get what is needed done.

Abs light was going on and off, now is constantly on. Then traction control light going on and off now is constantly on. Now my brake light is on. When I start the car the tire light flashes on and off which causes my speedometer to go up and down. Headlights stopped working completely after several bulb replacements.

I received a manufacturer recall notice about possible fires due to braking circuits in the early spring, but the dealership knew nothing about it. The car was parked outside as suggested. I received a second notice at the end of June. The SUV was serviced 7/14/20 for a recall on the braking circuit. On 8/22/20 a beautifully clear Saturday, I was driving home from a neighboring community on a paved country road. I noticed that the esc off indicator light displayed on the dashboard. I stopped to look in the manual to see if the car was driveable. I parked my car in the garage after arriving home and noticed that tail lights/brake lights remained on even with the engine turned off. Because of two prior manufacturer warnings about fire with the electrical system, I parked the car outside away from the house as recommended. I called the kia dealership at 4:30 that day and arranged with cameron to drop the SUV off on Sunday. On Sunday, my neighbor helped jump start my car and he fooled around under the dash to turn the brake lights off. He said to tell the dealership that the wires were warm which I did. I included a list of concerns/facts with my key in the drop off box. On Monday, 8/24/20 cameron, the service agent, said that the braking circuit "was fried" . The contact stated that while begin pulled over by police the numerus times who notified the contact that her brake light failed to illuminated as the brake pedal is depressed. The vehicle was repaired however the failure recurred intermittently. The mentioned NHTSA campaign number: 20v519000 (service brakes, hydraulic) as a possible solution to the failure however the VIN was included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to contact NHTSA to log a complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000. Ck.

My son was pulled over and the officer said there were no operating rear lights. Noticed that you have to turn them on and off to come on. Then on another day there were no brakes gets lights either. I informed southwest kia mesquite of the problem. They said that it was the light switch because one of their other models have the same issue and there was a recall on that model. They charged me to fix this saying although it was recalled in their other model the Sorento was not recalled. After they installed they said I should have no problems with the lights and brake lights. They even did another insepction a week or so later (12/20/2019) saying that my car was safe to travel and everything was fine. While on the road trip with my family we noticed that the two main brake lights were not working and the cruise control was not working. We tried turning lights on and off and they still didnt work. Kia has placed my family in danger. We are out of state and have no way of getting the car back to texas safely. Kia has exhausted all of my money and they have not fixed anything. The car is unsafe. I googled and found thatb a lot of people are driving around with kia's with no brake lights. They wont own up that something is wring with the Sorento, cruise control system, back and brake lights. My rear lights shut off in the middle of driving. Is kia waiting for fatalities before they deal with this safety issues with the Sorento? how mucch longer are they going to continue to rip people off and leave them and their families unsafe? I transport kids as I am a child protective services caseworker and this vehicle is not safe for anyone. Its unfortunate that kia has exhausted all of my funds that I can't rent nor get another car while out of state for christmas stuck on the road.

Recently purchased 2006 kia Sorento. . Recall #sc077 the brake lights interoir lights are not working I replaced all bulbs and fuses. . Please help.

Car brake lights stayed on and wouldn't turn off. It drained my battery. Took car to kia dealership several times but couldn't find the problem. Dealership replaced brake light switch and sensor and still my brake lights remained on. While driving and in park. Dealership said they called kia corporate coding and that the hecu needs to be replaced.

Takata brake lights not working bought 3 since jan2019. Got brakes done in 2018 but pedal still moves at red light car moves forward. I mash breaks harder. Engine shakes or jumps. Ignition switch won't turn on car it don't crank up key was remade a yr ago. Ignition started back working well but 6months ago same problem again. Today I was stuck 3. 5hrs. Horrible please help my Sorento is loved by me. No one contacted me on these issues im having.

Door will not open from the outside on the driver rear side. Also I am starting to have issues with my gear shift. I can't put my vehicle out of park. If I do get it out of park, 2 of my dashboards lights come one. I also notice when these lights are on my brake lights do not show on the rear side. This is am hazard and my truck slips from time to time.

On may 28, 2019, I made an appointment with my mechanic as a result of my abs brake light appearing on the dashboard of my 2013 kia sorrento with a little over 57,000 miles. I was given an appointment date of Thursday, may 30th and did not utilize the vehicle except to drive it a short distance to the mechanic's location. An hour or so after dropping off the car, my mechanic called to indicate that diagmostic tests had confirmed what he had suspected, that my right rear abs brakes(also referred to as the rear wheel spin/part of the hub bearing) was defective and had to be replaced to the tune of about $550. 00. He also mentioned at this time that there was a service bulletin out on this make and model, as a result of water getting into the wheel bearing causing this problem to occur pretty consistently. I called my local kia dealership located at 9009 w broad st in richmond va, and spoke to a service manager. I explained that I was aware that there had yet to be a recall on any vehicles but that numerous blogs, and forums touting this exact problem in addition to the service bulletin seemed to indicate this was a design flaw in their vehicles. I was told he was unaware of any complaints from other customers and that service bulletins were merely a diagnostic tool to assist mechanics and since my car was no longer under warranty, and despite the very low mileage, the most I could expect was to make an appt with their service department. I politely declined. When picking up my vehicle the next day, I questioned my mechanic about the true nature of service bulletins and he admitted that yes, ostensibly, they were circulated to assist in diagnosing particular issues, but, they were also frequently indicative of ongoing problems that often resulted in future recalls. I would suggest that kia be persuaded to look into this one!.

Front headlight failed, upon inspection the harness wire to headlight burned and melted and brake lights don't work when the head light wire burned. This is major safety issue without brake lights. Went to computer and this problem is all over the internet, exact same issue happening to kia owners of numerous models. Apparently kia installed a odd system that controls headlights and burns out wiring . Very dangerous issue causing to vehicle to lose brake lights as well. Took car to dealership but they won't repair this safety problem creating a expensive repair for owner for a badly designed arrangement. This problem occurred when driving at night on I 95 in delaware this is not a isolated incident but it's all over the internet happening only on kia vechicles.

I have a 2014 lx with nothing special other than heated front seats. Regular ignition, 6cyl with almost 148k miles. Issue 1- at approx 100k my dash started lighting up with abs, e-brake, trac, and tps lights. Ebrake and tps were intermittent and only came on after it rained it seemed. After plugging it up and getting no codes I took it to the dealer June 2017 and they informed me it was no big deal but it was part of a recall for a sensor. However, kia had not provided them with the necessary tools to fix it. It's now August 2018 and I am still waiting. Issue 2- at approx 130k miles my steering controls for bluetooth and radio stopped working. The radio itself works, but when attempting to seek or adjust volume with steering controls the voice command pops up. Issue 3- at approx 145k cruise control stopped working. I can turn it on and set speed, but in less than a mile it disengages. I have found if I turn off the eco it works as it should. Issue 4 I found today. After getting a message from a random stranger through my advertised business on the back window I was informed that I have no brake lights except for the one on top (third). I just replaced them in July after a random stranger told me that they were out. When I got the message (after making my 60 mile commute to work) I grabbed a coworker to come out and troubleshoot with me. We checked fuses and they are fine. Third light works, tail lights work, turn signals and backup lights work. We took apart the tail light assembly and pulled the bulbs to check them and the bulbs are still intact (filament still completely intact) but the bulbs are charred black and the harness socket appears to have gotten extremely hot. Also the bottom of the bulb is glossy like it melted.

Service brake hydraulic switches brake light, exterior lighting brake light switch, air bag frontal sensor/control module. No brake light when brake is press, cruise ontrol, esc light, air bag and gear shift will not move from park.

The starter burned out and the starter relay is sticking. It started sticking and making funny noises around mid October or beginning of November 2017 and acutally burned out December 8, 2017 and was replaced December 9, 2017. Now the starter went out again January 16, 2018. Also I had my driver side brake light bulb replaced around July or August 2017 and now the same driver side brake light is out again.

I was informed brake lights were not illuminating. Electric stability control idiot light showed up on dashboard right before being informed. Car is also not shifting into park or reverse. Drive gear seems ok.

1. ) driving vehicle at highway speed. Noticed parking brake light on (had not explicitly engaged brake). Tried to disengage parking brake, and the light stayed on. Pulled over, put car in park. Tried to disengage again, still would not. Turned car off, on again, was able to disengage. 2. ) driving city road, app 40mph, accelerator peddle became physically stuck, took foot off peddle, peddle stayed in position and car continued to accelerate. Tried to gently push peddle, but it would not disengage. Tapped peddle hard and it came loose. This has occurred twice. Car has 15k miles.

Problem: intermittent problem with advanced Smart cruise control and autonomous braking on a new 2017 kia Sorento with less than 1100 miles. What happened: when using the advanced Smart control feature, the Smart cruise control will shut down randomly. On four occasions, while driving with Smart cruise control, on a highway on a clear day, my kia's dashboard lit up with "check Smart cruise control system. " these additional warning lights lit up on the dashboard: anti-lock brake warning light, electronic brake force distribution system warning light, master warning light, and electronic stability control indicator light. The cruise control will not work and all lights stay on until the vehicle is turned off and then back on. After one occurrence, I took the vehicle to the dealer to diagnose the problem. As this only happens randomly they were not able to replicate the problem. The vehicle was also not storing any diagnostic codes. After the 3rd time it was in the dealer for the same issue they said a code was stored. They said it had something to do with the camera mounted on the top of the windshield. The service tech disconnected and reconnected the camera with the thought that it might be a loose connection. The same issue happened again after they adjusted the camera. They have a new camera on order but it is not in stock anywhere in the country. This is a serious safety concern. I contacted Kia Motors consumer affairs several times, and they just send me back to the dealer. Problem is still unsolved.

The brake lamp switch continues to be faulty. In some cases the brake lights do not illuminate at all and other times the brake lights remain on and drain the battery. This occurs while driving or stationary. (this has been a recall and fixed 4 times and continues to occur).

I own a 2007 kia Sorento. Recently, my check engine and esc off lights became illuminated on my dashboard. I noticed that my brake lights were not illuminating when I pressed the brake pedal. After looking up my car make and model on the NHTSA website, I noticed there was a recall for my model year Sorento for the exact same problems (NHTSA campaign number 13v114000/kia service campaign sc098). I took the carto my local kia dealership and they told me I was not eligible for the recall as my VIN was not included. As such, I have to drive around without functional brake lamps until I get this problem resolved--increasing my chances of being rear-ended. I travel constantly for work so I do not have the luxury of not driving. This needs to be investigated and resolved.

Driving on highway when heard a pop and power steering went out and battery and brake light came on. Had it towed to auto repair shop to find out the crank shaft pulley bolt had broken off into the engine. Auto repair shop unable to get bolt out since it broke off into engine. Only way to repair was a new engine which was around $5000.

Esc and check engine light illuminated. Took vehicle to dealer for repairs. Dealer service dept stated that brake light switch was at fault, but that it had been previously replaced in Mar 2010 under a recall campaign. After replacing switch this time, dealer service adviser stated that switch appeared to be original, but that I would still have to pay for parts and labor ($129. 86). I paid but protested. I have serious doubts that brake light switch was replaced in Mar 2010 as dealer stated, since the recently replaced switch appeared to be original equipment. Subsequently, I feel as though I should not have to pay for the most recent (Aug 2014) repair, especially if switch had not been replaced under recall campaign previously. I suspect that dealer either falsified the Mar 2010 repair, and/or replaced recalled switch with identical replacement (which is prone to failure). What good is a recall if original defect was simply reinstalled? I do have possession of defective switch replaced in Aug 2014. Not only do I want my money returned to me, but I would like some assurance that the problem is now remedied with a reliable switch. Please respond.

I recently had to have the crank shaft sensor replaced on my 2005 kia Sorento. This morning, driving my young son to school, I lost the steering on my vehicle. Additionally, the engine light and brake light came on. As I understand it, this is an ongoing defective issue with kia's. This is a dangerous problem for the public as well as consumers.

Part was already replaced on a mandatory recall. Now the replacements for the recall are failing. Kia will not stand behind the repair costs, this means many people will be driving with out brake lights. I am on my third switch- the part should easily out live the car! I am sure they replaced it with the same exact part thinking most people would be out of the vehicle by the time it failed again. I am sure this is not what you had in mind when you issued the other recalls on this part.

Push button start not starting vehicle. Brake lights do not come on upon depress of brake pedal. Vehicle only starts after holding button 10-15 seconds.

I was driving out of walgreens parking lot on 6/2/2013 in alsip, illinois. As I put my car in reverse to back out the parking space then I placed it in drive it was fine. Then I got ready to turn the wheel to come out the parking lot and it was very hard to turn. Then my lights came on the dashboard. The brake light & engine light. I then placed my feet on the brakes and placed it back in p (park) and tired to put in drive again and the same thing happened. It was very hard to turn to get it out of the way. I ended up going up the street to autozone to see if they can put in on the machine or even look at it to see what's wrong. They looked at it and told me it looks like my pulley belt is cracked / breaking / broke. So I park it in a residual area, and I called kia dealership in oaklawn, IL to order the part as autozone told me they did not have that part I will have to go to the dealer. So I called kia to get the part and they said I had to order it. I did just that picked it up had the tow truck to take to the autoshop for repair. Once the mechanic looked at it he started the bolt was hard to get off to get to the pulley. He stated it is a 50/50 chance that it may break. If it does then I would need a engine. I then told him don't touch it or worry about it I will have it towed to kia in river oaks which I did. They looked at it and stated the same thing. I said well lets pray they it does not break he laughed and said ok. The mechanic called me back a hour later an said it broke I'm gonna need a engine. He told me the price, and I could not afford it so I had it towed to my house.

I was coming home from work one day ,when the crankshaft bolt came out of my car . I barely made it home . But the front end was jarring my airbag light came on my breaks like same one and I did not have no control of my steering . Then it cost me 1700 . Then one day I was in town and the crankshaft bolt came out of my car again which this time I did not have no control of the steering it took every muscle that I had to keep it in the road the front and shook so bad it jarred everything I lose my airbag light came on my brake lights came on seat belt light came on it was a hazardous on the highway seriously killed me or someone else or really badly hurt them. Then I took it back to the mechanic again and he said welcome it's going to cost you 1700 more which I did not have so I let the bank have it back which now it has run my credit because I didn't have the money to get it fixed and I lost my credit because of thisso yes they need to do a recall on the crankshaft bolt before it does kill someone is that what they're waiting for for someone to die before they do something about. And I keep on replacing bugs brake lights headlights and everything they keep on blowing in this in the kia and I keep on putting money in it for me to get it inspected it cost me a hundred sixty two dollars and 22 dish to replace bulbs that I just replace not even a month before that I have receipts I am so tired of putting money into this kia I didn't have no other choice but to let them take it because it c and the tires at 8 my tires up and I put new tires on which cost me 800 800 again to put in800 again to put inand when this bit when this happened I called kia in charlottesville virginia and they said they put a new crank bolt in at the kids embrace Chevrolet before I boarded so this would make three times the crankshaft bolt had been replaced I want this kia. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

The contact owns a 2007 kia Sorento. While driving approximately 75 mph, the contact was unable to set the cruise control and unable to activate the stability control. Stability control and downhill assist lights illuminate while driving. Then when stopped, car will not go past neutral when trying to shift into park. Also, when driving, the brake lights do not work immediately when pedal is depressed. Car will not shift out of park after started and stability control and downhill assist lights are illuminated. Located switch at the upper part of the brake pedal and while car was in neutral, with parking brake on, was able to bump the switch box and then shift car into park.

The same thing has happened three times now. Driving down the road and all of a sudden the brake lights come on, check engine light comes on and now you have no power steering. When popping your hood, you find the two of the three belts have come off and the cam stabilizer pulley has either broke off and the car is no longer running or is wobbling and about to detach from the engine. What has happened is the pin has broke and the bolt has broke or is about to break. This last time that this has happened, I was 80 miles away from home and by the grace of god made it home with my mom and child riding passenger in the car with me. This is a very serious issue and will end up causing a wreck and possibly death.

I have no rear brake light. The esc off light comes on in the dash. I can turn on the cruise control but I can't set a speed for cruise control. I have a remote starter that has a safety switch when the brake is pressed turns the remote starter off that isn't working correctly cause there is no signal that the brake has been pressed.
