Brake Sensor Problems of Kia Motor Sorento

The abs, esc, and low tire pressure lights keep coming on. We have had the car fixed and the lights still come on. City kia told us to ignore the lights cause the sensor was bad. But that's not a good enough answer. Not only that but the headlights are dull and are hard to see at night, which I do a lot of night time driving. Ever since we took our kia for the recall service and they "fixed it" turns out the made it worse and now the engine makes a loud rattling sound, the breaks which are new have horrible performance and the electrical issues we are having with the odometer and the transmission sensors due to the recall as well but the local kia dealership that "fixed it" will not take a look at what they brok without us having to pay them for it we have had no accidents and it gets maintenance done on time.

Vehicle only starts in neutral. Refuses to go into park. Abs seems like it's always on but the light isn't. Had the car checked for engine recall and they said it was fine. Never any major issues with car until the past year. Have replaced brakes and wheel sensor and does noir fix problem. The vehicle is hard to switch between park, neutral, drive and reverse. Afraid of a malfunction that could cause an accident. Nothing shows on computer when ran. Have to press hard in park to keep car from moving on its own. Randomly just shuts down and won't start unless you move the steering wheel. Vehicle doesn't want to stop on a dry road with brand new brakes installed.

The abs/traction sensor has gone out. Seems to be a common issue and kia will not cover it or issue a recall.

I was driving the vehicle at low speed when the brakes started coming on by themselves. The traction control light came on as the vehicle stopped 6 times within a couple of hundred feet. I could feel the anti lock brakes working as the vehicle would stop, then the brakes would release and I would start moving again only to have the brakes come on by themselves again. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and a sensor was replaced regarding the steering. The vehicle has worked fine since, but its only been 5 days since it was repaired.

The contact owns a 2011 kia Sorento. While driving at 20 mph, multiple warning lights illuminated. The failure recurred on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the right rear passenger side brake sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was unavailable.

I was backing out of my driveway and turning slightly to the left, I attempted to stop my 2013 kia Sorento by pressing the brakes but it would not stop. It continued to coast backwards without stopping even though I continued to press brakes numerous times. . The brake pedal itself would not go all the way down while I pressed down. The car did not slow down and the backup sensor did not sound as it continued to back into my neighbors fence. Note that I could see the backup camera was working but had no control of car stopping, also the car was purchased only 5 months ago.

2008 kia Sorento start-up stalling temperamentally for three weeks. On 9/11/2012 the check engine light and esc off light appeared, followed with a "putting" engine and limp mode. The car would not accelerate when foot applied to gas pedal. Kia dealership confirmed tps and brake sensor failure and electronic stability control needed reprogramming. The contact owns a 2007 kia Sorento. The contact was driving 35 mph when the vehicle began to shake abnormally with the illumination of the esc and the check engine warning lights. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who inspected the vehicle and informed her that the brake switch and throttle position sensor would need replacing. Bought new 2011 kia Sorento in February and have 11,000 miles on it. I have taken it in several times for the push to start taking a bit to start. It seems as if sometimes it is not going to start. Took it in at 8000 miles and they said it was a brake sensor and the part was on back order. Just got that fixed with 11,000 miles on it. Took kia in this week for a noise in the front wheel because it sounds like the wheel is going to fall off. Problem was not fixed. Said kia was working to resolve issue with brake pad but that it was safe for me to drive and that nothing would happen. Not to happy about my service not getting taking care of when I take it in. Apparently they need to just replace our cars if they can't fix it. I don't appreciate buying a $27,000 car and being told that they are working on a solution. Very disappointed in my new kia already having all these problems and only 11,000 miles on it.

2005 kia Sorento ex developed problems with the power steering. ** answer required***. Within a few days of owning the vehicle, the consumer noticed the clock was not working properly, there was a noise while the vehicle was cold, while turning right or backing and pulling forward, a shudder in the brake pedal, a cut in the leather passenger seat. On 4 occasions the passenger air bag sensor light dash light did not engage properly with 3 different people of different weights/heights were sitting in the seat. The power steering failed 3 times. The consumer was told the shudder in the brake pedal was normal and was a part of the abs.
