Ignition Switch Problems of Kia Motor Sorento

Takata brake lights not working bought 3 since jan2019. Got brakes done in 2018 but pedal still moves at red light car moves forward. I mash breaks harder. Engine shakes or jumps. Ignition switch won't turn on car it don't crank up key was remade a yr ago. Ignition started back working well but 6months ago same problem again. Today I was stuck 3. 5hrs. Horrible please help my Sorento is loved by me. No one contacted me on these issues im having.

Tl- the contact owns a 2013 kia Sorento. The contact stated that after switching to the park position and turning the vehicle off the ignition key would become stuck in the ignition switch before the driver was eventually able to remove it. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer an dealer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000. Jft.

When you put the key in the ignition to start the car,it has power but will not start you have to keep on turning the switc until it ingages or put you foot on the brake while the ignition switch is on and take it out of park and put it in gear then put it back in park and it will crank. This is always when you first crank it . It is always sitting still.

The contact owns a 2014 kia Sorento. The contact stated that the engine seized while driving 80 mph. The vehicle was towed to a dealer (the kia store, 5325 preston hwy, louisville, ky 40213, (888) 214-1809) where it was diagnosed that the engine assembly needed to be replaced. The contact was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 17v224000 (engine and engine cooling). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided no solution other than the dealer replacing the part. In addition, the dealer replaced the ignition switch per an unknown recall. The contact had two keys and the dealer later provided one key, stating that the contact would need to pay for the second key. The failure mileage was not available.

Had a problem with my ignition switch, steering column not unlocking on my 2013 kia sorrento. Put the key in, would not turn. Finally, I jerked on the steering wheel back and forth, it finally turned. Then, my sisters 2013 kia-optima did the same thing about a week ago! I called the dealer and was told that because the wheels were turn that this would cause this to happen. I informed him that in both cases, the vehicles were in the garage, on flat service, wheels pointing straight. Was told if it happens again, bring it in.

Keyless ignition switch which is attached to break has defect. Unable to start car, called aaa who could not start. Called hot line and they said have been having a number of problems with this. Called local dealer who verified havin a number of failures on this and need to replace. Agreed probably need to send a bulletin to owners and recall. The switch sticks and will not allow you to start the car.

The consumer owns a 2005 kia Sorento. The consumer could not get the keys out of vehicle. This is not the first time this happened. The doors to his vehicle will not lock with the keys in the ignition. The key was locked in the ignition. The consumer stated the problem seems to happen after driving in extreme heat. 11/15/2005.
