Land Rover Discovery Ii owners have reported 10 problems related to brake electric antilock (under the service brakes category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
1. Applied the brakes. 2. Every time I apply brakes after vehicle has been started
3. Dealer claims there is nothing which can be done. . . Apparently all such models have this issue, which generates the question as to why Land Rover has not been made to do something about this, much like what would have been done had such an issue been incurred with a Chevrolet, Ford or Toyota?
this issue has already been recorded as service bulletin NHTSA item no. 10016118? this demonstrates there are recognized problems with the abs modulator and system, resulting in the abs/ emergency brake / hill descent and traction control lamps illuminating on the dash, which may cause the abs system to incur failure when needed? the number of vehicle owners incurring this problem indicates there is a serious inherent defect within this vehicle, which I and many others cannot understand why such have not been recalled. . . There has apparently been another recall for an abs component in this vehicle (NHTSA recall campaign id no. 04v005000) and this preliminary recall should also be amended to include this issue with the abs system? this issue is well documented and widespread among this particular model and the NHTSA should finally require Land Rover to correct such.

2000 Land Rover Discovery Ii. 1st I had the service engine soon light on and after spending almost $600. 00 to extinguish the light, I drove the vehicle for (4) days, now all the lights are on. I checked on a Land Rover forum and they said the abs / tc lights are an ongoing problem with this vehicle and there should be a recall. Everyone is spending a fortune. My Land Rover just came out of warranty (of course!).
No noticable events leading to failure. . . Abs / hdc / trac failure on a 2000 Land Rover discovery series ii. Traction control, abs and hill descent control do not function or function at a diminished level. Three lights remain lit on the dash. I do not know what can be done to resolve this unsafe and unexeptable problem.
The abs/hdc/tc lights came on in my 1999 Land Rover Discovery Ii. The abs functions are inoperative and sometimes while braking, the brake pedal while being pushed goes almost to the floor and the car will eventually stop.
