1 Engine Noise problem of the 2007 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 05/26/2017

Bought my Mazda Cx-7 2007 brand new. Ac broke, arm joint has be change, both roller changed more then two times. Engine is making noise. Dealer told us that it's the timing chain which is the engine now. I called Mazda for an engine and it's about $6,291 for just the engine not even included the labor. Had a very bad explerience with Mazda.

3 Engine Noise problem of the 2007 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 04/21/2015

My Cx-7 had been making some engine noise for months that my husband attributed to fuel injector noise, but when the sound got worse he researched it and made an appointment with a Mazda dealership. After an evaluation of my car the serviceman told me that there had been a defect in the engines in 2007 Cx-7 and there had been a recall on them and that mine was past the point of being fixed. He said that it will just quit working one day. We asked if we could have another engine put in, but he said the problem has never been fixed, so it would only be good temporarily and it would cost $5,500. We stated that we never received recall information and after he ran our VIN number he said that we had never been sent any recall information. They would only give me $3,000 for my car because it is worthless now, so I intend to drive it until it dies which could be any day.

4 Engine Noise problem of the 2007 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 01/01/2015

After having vehicle at royal palm Mazda for service and complaint of engine noise on 25 oct 2014, and being told the engine noise was normal, nothing to worry about. The engine suffered a complete failure due to the timing chain and/or vvt that Mazda had issued a technical service bulletin about in October of 2012. The car has been at the dealership for one (1) week with no updates from Mazda on how they are going to handle the repair or if they are even going to assist with the repair.

5 Engine Noise problem of the 2007 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 05/03/2013

The engine light came on (not the first time). The Mazda mechanic said it was the ect sensor. It was replaced and the engine light came on again the next day. Took it back and they said, well it is probably another problem. I have taken t back a few time, but no one is able to give an actual solution. I took it to a non-affiliated Mazda mechanic and he said it is the throttle (the car stopped again in may, 2015) and hears the engine noise which could be the timing chain. I just don't trust Mazda or it's mechanics and.

6 Engine Noise problem of the 2009 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 02/18/2013

I was driving on a highway. I heard a high pitched squealing sound then smoke started blowing out of my car. I could not see, and the other drivers behind me lost visability too. In the middle of this blinding smoke, surrounded by huge trucks, I lost aceleration. My instrumentation panel did not have any warning lights on. I was driving blind. I pulled off the highway as quickly as possible, and had my car towed to a dealership. The dealership said my turbo blew out, (which I guess sucked all the oil out of the car) I need a vvt valve and the timing chain is stretched. On a car with 57,000 miles! in checking on line, I found this has been a problem with the Cx-7 for 6 years and they are no longer making this model. I see that Mazda deals with these problems by stating the owner did not maintain the car properly, when in actuality, there is a serious problem with the turbo system and how the oil cools it. There is also a problem with "sludge buildup". I believe Mazda has been successfully avoiding a recall. But these issues are a real safety concern. I am very lucky that there was no accident as a result of this incident. These issues can be dangerous. When everything blew on my car, no one could see the road.

7 Engine Noise problem of the 2007 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 09/09/2012

While driving the car the ac compressor made a noise and ceased to work. I noticed a strange smell coming from the car followed by smoke coming from the engine compartment. I pulled over and opened up the hood to find smoke pouring off of the ac compressor and a large amount of sparks shooting off of it. This indecent occurred 4 months after the extended warranty on the ac compressor ran out. I'm not sure why this isn't an issue that is subject to a recall, as there was a very real danger of a fire breaking out.

8 Engine Noise problem of the 2007 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 08/15/2012

Driving on my way to tennessee, the car had a major power loss and screeching noise from inside the engine bay. The car was taken to the closest Mazda dealership and was told that the turbo had to be replaced due to engine sludge. The car had regular oil changes using the proper amount and oil weight. Mazda had a recall involving the turbo and they did not honor it because I was about 1000 miles over the extended warranty.

9 Engine Noise problem of the 2007 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 06/10/2012

I called a Mazda car dealership to let the know I receive a recall letter and to make an appointment for my Mazda cx7, the service man said if the car was not making any noise or smoking I didn't need to bring the car in. After weeks by after taking the service man advise I was driving on the highway in my cx7 Mazda with my 6 month old grandbaby in the back seat all of a sudden pressing on the gas, the car just shuts off without any kind of warning in the middle of the highway; this highway is normally very busy especially with 18 wheelers, luckily there was enough power left for me to pull over out the highway before the steering wheel locked up. After waiting for tow truck driver in the heat with no ac and a 6 month old baby car was towed to a Mazda dealership, which was closed. The next day serviceman calls me and tells me the timing chain broke, destroyed the engine and it was going to cost $4000 to be repaired,I had to bring receipts for oil changes, there was no sludge found; Mazda offered $1000 as a good gesture, if they had found sludge they wouldn't have offered that. My car is still there; I can't get the car out because I have to make car payments and rent cars to get back and forth to work. What is it going to take before someone steps up and have Mazda corp held accountable for these malfunction parts. Will someone have to loose their life before someone recognizes that there is a major problem!!!! there are to many complaints on line for the same reason for this not to be an issue!!!!!! I've been in contact with lawyers and the media I feel the public needs to know how this corporation is treating the consumers.

10 Engine Noise problem of the 2007 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 11/15/2011

Driving vehicle when it makes a loud squeeling sound and shortly thereafter begins to smoke. Air conditioning had quit working the day before. Have been told by a mechanic that the a/c compressor "took a crap" and the clutch locked up, furthermore this caused all of the fluids to leak out of the bearings. Basically, a worst case scenario. I bought this car in may of 2010 at 24,000 miles and after seeing these complaints, I wonder if the dealership I bought the car from knew about these problems when I made the purchase. The mechanic is working hard to find the best priced compressor kit for replacement and offered to run my VIN thru a local Mazda dealership to see if there was a recall I wasn't told about. Either way, I am out alot of money up front; thank goodness there are still good independant mechanics out there.

11 Engine Noise problem of the 2009 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 01/03/2011

I own a 2009 Mazda cx 7 turbo. The veichle has had it's proper oil changes by a service garage not a "quick lube" place. The oil was castrol gtx 5w-30w, with fram oil filter. The longest interval between oil changes was 6000 miles and the shortest 4000 miles. The vehicle now has 45,664 miles on it and the wife complained about a high pitched noise and lack of performance . Brought to the Mazda dealer, the dealer said the turbo went and that Mazda will not cover it under warranty (60,000 warranty on drive train and turbo) because of engine sludge !! are you kidding me. . . Engine sludge, the proper oil viscousity was used at proper interval (Mazda says 7500 between oil changes). No signs of over heating, high engine temps, the vehicle is driven to work and back (4 miles away) 2x's per day 6 days a week. Sounds to me like engine oil is not getting up to temp. And this is causing the sludge, Mazda does not state this anywhere any time in their manual. I found this out only after researching on line. . . . Anyone else having issues with their Mazda ???? I ve owned turbos before and never had issues. My vehicle gets it's oil change by the same station and this Nissan has 190,000 miles on it with no problems and no sludge !!!.

12 Engine Noise problem of the 2008 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 07/07/2010

The contact owns a 2008 Mazda Cx-7. The contact was driving approximately 45 mph when the engine began to exhibit an unusual squealing noise and stalled. The dealer advised there was excessive engine oil sludge buildup and the engine would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The current and failure mileage was 36,800.

13 Engine Noise problem of the 2007 Mazda CX-7

Failure Date: 03/10/2010

I did all my Mazda cx7 maintenance schedule, I paid a lot for it. Then my car started making noises, I took it to the dealer so many times and they said that the nose was normal because its a turbo car. One day, running at aprox 40 m/h my car lower the speed at no more that 20 m/h, it was Sunday afternoon so I took it to an independent mechanic (my car was out of warranty) around 68 k miles. The problem was the timing ch. After was some fixed, I took it to the dealer and they stayed with the car 21 days ( I paid for the rent a car) they told me that was about something different and they needed to wait for the part, so they changed it but it wasn't that part, so they put everything back and said that was the engine. I installed a new one in another Mazda dealer paying closed to $8k . Its not fear. Please help. My story is longer but I made short. Thank you.
