1)Nov. '04. . . . 12 hours after we purchased the vehicle, were called back to have Mazda replace gas tank "due to recall". Mazda "misplaced" my new gas tank. Took approx. 4 days to get my brand new car back in my possession. 2)05/01/ a. Complained of moaning sound from steering wheel/engine. B) breaks squeaking loudly. Mazda"problem not duplicated" 3)8-19-05 a. Clutch shudders when going from 0-1 & 1-2 gear (manual trans. ) b. Moaning sound from steering/engine right front area. Mazda: "unable to duplicate" 3) car makes moaning sound from steering/right front engine while turning. Mazda: "unable to duplicate" problem listings go on with my same complaints. Each time, Mazda states "problem not duplicated". Now, warranty is up, guess what: Mazda says: "we've found your problem! yeah, we found it really quickly, is the reason that I'm calling you so soon. You need a new clutch which will fix your ongoing clutch complaint of 3 years. Oh, and we'll need to order a new engine mount, and take apart the engine to take a hard look at the transmission. You seems to have some problems from your clutch which affected the transmission. Your warranty is up, and we would have fixed the problem had we noticed it before 3,000 miles. But, no need to worry. . . . . We'll put you in a rental car. . . . ".

5 Clutch problem of the 2003 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 08/03/2004

I have a Mazda 6i. At 8500 miles after having my car I had the clutch go out. When I took it to the dealer I was severly stereotyped as a street racer which I am in no way , if that were the case I would have bought the 6s . They wanted to charge me $800 to fix the problem , which I immediately disputed and was treated as a child. Eventually they fixed it and I quote "not under warranty but fixed out of kindness" and that was the end of that. Now at 13000 miles my manual transmission would not shift into 1st or 2nd gear I took it in and the first response I got from the service clerk was " whats wrong with the car?" and that if they find I caused the problem it would be estimated $1000 to fix it if it wasn't covered by the warranty. I feel that because my age I am discriminated against even though I purchased the car myself in my name at 18. I am currently waiting for a response from the dealer as to what is going to happen with the transmission replacement.

6 Clutch problem of the 2002 Mazda MAZDA6

Failure Date: 06/07/2002

Mazda motors CO. Has a known problem with the clutch in 2001-2003 Mazda miatas and has issued a TSB (05-001/03). My miata, a 2002 is 3 months out of warranty, but with only 13,000 miles of a warranted 36,000 miles. When I approached Mazda corp. With my problem I was summarilly told, without them looking at my car, that it was out of warranty and also stated that, even in a warranted state, the clutch will be covered for only 12,000 miles. I have read the TSB and nowhere is a mileage number stated for a covered repair. My complaint is, that there is a known problem and owners are not made aware of that problem or the repair that is recommended by the manufacturer. I was unaware of it until reading what other miata owners had written in a miata forum. Granted, this is not a safety problem but it does affect the operation of the vehicle and if the manufacturer is aware of it and corrects it when confronted then the warranty time limit alone should not be a determining factor in whether or not a correction of the problem is made. The repair should be made when the customer makes the complaint rergardless of the time factor involved as long as the mileage falls within the warranted period. Many of the other owners with the same problem did not report onset of the problem until they had driven the car for 15,000 to 25,000 miles. They experienced the problem within the 36 months of the warranty but with greater mileage. I have less mileage on the car but with a longer period of time. Either way the problem develops within a certain period of "operation" of the vehicle. Should you have any questions of me do not hesitate to contact me at the e-mail, phone or address that I have given. Thank you.
