Noticed slight coolant leak, took car to mechanic, he stated cylinder head was cracked, & causing coolant to spray everywhere. Towed car to dealer. Was given repair estimate of over $11,000, for a new engine. I see a safety bulletin online for my year make & model car. This overheating can apparently cause an engine fire. So far, Mazda seems to be showing negligence & not properly addressing the issue for owners.
Very hard shifts from 1st to 3rd gear it's a automatic transmission it's getting worse it will do it at random times and it's getting to the point I'm scared to drive the car. Mazda should listen to everyone else's problems with the same transmission it's ridiculous.

Hello I am a 2nd owner of a Mazda 2007 6. And the man I brought car from said it always did it to him as well. I would explain it as in stopping or speeding up the dashboard lights flicker or goes off, the engine gets real loud and car jerks and shakes and loses power check engine light comes on and at. And cars dyes in reverse a few times on me. Auto lots said that it is common and known for electrical problems and engine issues and pieces called camshafts position actuator and transmission range sensor and gears. And the man owned before me has replaced them multiple times. Its dangerous to be driving specially on interstate and car stalls or lose so much power that I only get about 20 miles an hour.

I took my car in for scheduled maintenance and the technicians at the Mazda dealer found out the tensioner and belt needed to be replaced, when the car is less than 36k in miles. Vehicles being repaired under warranty but a tensioner should not be going out this early in the lifespan of a 2 year old car. I have found a lot of people are complaining for the same issue. This can cause the cars to not run as there’s no notice ahead of time that the belt and tensioner are bad. I do have paper work stating tensioner problems. Vehicles should be recalled due to poor manufacturing and parts making it unsafe on the road.
Rear control arm broke off the rear subfame due heavy rust. I had to replace the entire rear subframe plus both control arms. This incident occurred while I was driving! now I find out that the front end is shot as well and that Mazda is only recalling the front subframe and not the rear and I want to know why. Somebody could have been killed. The repair cost me $700 plus rental fees for a vehicle. I had my vehicle in the shop for 16days. It cost me $1,135. I have the invoices.

Please can someone put in a recall for this my transmission is having problems again and this is my second madza 6. . . This doesn't make any sense we spend money of vehicles that suppose to run well. . . So why are there so many people having problems with these madza's and know one is doing anything about it. . . . I was on the highway with my kids when the car just cut off and wouldn't move and when it did it was started grinding when I put it in gear. . . . That was a scary thing. . . The same happened to me in my first madza 6 with only 89000 miles on it. . . Something needs to be done. . . .

Situation: cvt tramsmission running smoothly when car was first bought. I am 3 weeks into owning the vehicle and the transmission seems to be going out. I had a diagnostic text run and there are zero computer errors. Issues: high revs and jerking of vehicle when gassed. Whether I am at a stand still or already giving gas. Any increased speed applied by the gas causes the jerking motion. There is a 2-5 second delay from the pedal to the transmission kicking. I have almost wrecked multiple times when this issue started occurring on my drive. This cvt would be considered very hazardous considering the specific problems I am experiencing.

I got this car in may of 2019 so the car is still new and ever since I purchased the vehicle I've been having issues with it first were the calipers sticking and Mazda gave me a hard time to repair the issue after the fact knowing that it was a manufacturing isssue and still tried to charge me I took my vehicle there more then 15 times just to deal things going bad in my car. My car stalls on me out of no where when I'm driving which is dangerous and can cause me to crash also my car brakes when there isn't anything in front of it all my malfunctioning indicators are on and I have video proof and showed it to my service advisor and service manager and they still didn't repair my car and told me that I have to pay or go somewhere else also my suspension is making noises they didn't want to fix it and as well as my tires peeling off from the sun already and they say it's wear and tear and ask me for money also my car dies everytime I turn it off I have to either get a jump or call roadside for assistance I've been dealing with issues with this car and Mazda clearly doesn't care about there customers safety and always ask for money when the vehicle is still under warranty very disappointed I'm still driving the car with all the. Issues it was because Mazda won't repair my car and always try to pin the issue on me when knowing that it's there fault I took it to Mazda several times and notified them on what's wrong with my car and my car stayed there for 4 days and they did nothing to my car just sitting there for nothing I pay too much money a month and feel like it's for no reason because my safety is at risk I hate driving my car because I feel unsafe and scared and going to Mazda is pointless please help me on what to do thanks.
Vehixle has open recall #3719f. Took vehicle in for service on July 15 and according to NHTSA recall has even out since June 27. 2019. To this day I have not gotten any letter or anything stating car has open recall when the car can turn of randomly. Will be taking car in on 08/26/19 but I'm concerned as to why this has not been addressed in any letters or emails.
My vehicle is automatic transmission and last weekend I was driving at the freeway with my family at 70 mph on cruise and all of a sudden we got big jerk from my vehicle and the vehicle rpm started increasing the same time first I thought someone hit me from back but the gladly the vehicle was in other lane and he honked at me. I then I saw d light disappear on the panel and the vehicle was in very high rpm mode. I didn't know what is happening I safely tried to pull on the right and stopped to see whats wrong but couldn't found anything. I turned off vehicle for a minute and started again. It worked fine for 5 min and as soon as I reached 55 or 60 mph the d light started blinking again and again I got high rpms and jerk. It almost had caused the accident as the other vehicle almost hit me from the back. It felt like engine braking. Then I drove very low spped on inner city road with my blinkers on to reach home safely. Now dealer is telling me that it will cost me minimum $3000 to replace the transmission. I think its a know issue to Mazda and they should fix my vehicle transmission atleast. This vehicle is not safe to drive.

Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Mazda 6. The contact received a recall notice back in March of 2019 for NHTSA campaign number: 18v631000(suspension, structure). The contact called garden city Mazda garden city Mazda 516-874-0385 where they informed her that the parts to remedy the recalll were unavailable. The contact was informed that when the part had arrived, she would be informed via email to have her vehicle serviced; the contact had yet to receive a notification to have the recall remedied. Since then, the contact stated that while driving her vehicle at 40 mph, the vehicle began to jerk while depressing the accelerator as well as when shifting gears. The contact stated the check engine warning light would illuminate intermittently both prior and after she experienced the failure. The contact took the vehicle to a local mechanic where it had yet to be officially diagnosed. The mechanic suspected that there had been an oil leakage which had effected the transmission. The manufacturer had not been notified of the failure and the vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 94,000. Jo.
8/11/2018while merging from route 9 onto route 95, I heard a clank coming from the bottom of my car, didn't think since driving through deep flooding from current rainstorm. Was on I-95 when steering seemed to go, veer to the right and brakes not catching. Was able to get off highway, regained control of car, went to my destination on rte 109. Drove, pumped breaks since I thought the problem was flooding & wet brakes. Left to go to next destination & steering was off, so drove very slowly (steering off & had to keep turning to the left) once again thinking weather related. Exited 95 to sprauge st. Dedham where brakes weren't working well, drove to friends in area and as I drove down hill, car lost steering and I landed up curb, brakes weren't working, put on emergency brake & finally stopped. Friends house was around the corner so rolled down hill to her house to let car dry as still thought it was from flooding. Left her house after an hour, drove two blocks and car completely lost all steering, lights on dashboard started flashing, brakes went. Called aaa and was towed to steve's service station where on Monday the car was deemed "totaled". The entire sub-carriage was covered in rust & corrosion, there were holes, pieces of metal from the car missing and major cracks all underneath and encasing the brakes and other part of car. Was told if I had gone a bit faster on 95, bottom would have fallen leading to serious accident. Note: there are numerous complaints about this with Mazda6 and Mazda has done nothing. I cannot receive financial compensation from insurance since is corrosion and not collision that caused the problems. Financial disaster. 47k miles, one owner car. Consults from mechanics said they have never seen anything like this on 8 yr old car. Appraiser said Mazda known for rust problems - gave me websites to research to assist. Please help!.
Often when shutting off the car, the engine shuts off but the ignition and auxiliary power remain on. There is a message on the dash requesting to shift lever to p (park) but the lever is already positioned in p. It will take several attempts of shifting in and out of p to get the car to completely shut off all power.
Problem with shift control/park switch. . Car would be in a stationary position and ignition would be shut down. Interior controlled items (I. E. Radio, heat/air system, lighting, etc. Would remain on and would not shut off. I would attempt to start/restart vehicle to see if the car (and all systems) would shut down - they would not. Only way I could completely turn off the car and all systems was to place the car in reverse or drive mode and then put the car back in the park position. This option worked for a short while and then it stopped working. My battery was completely drained and I ended up replacing my car battery and ultimately I had to take my car into an authorized Mazda dealer to have the gear park switch button replaced. Dealer stated they had numerous customers that experience same problem and resolution. I checked online and saw many customers also experienced same problem and same necessary repair to the vehicle. Battery replacement was approximately $130. 00 and the gear/park switch repair work was $245. 37. I have a copy of the invoice for the replacement and repair work, but am unable to scan.
On the night of 6/22/2018 I was traveling back to missouri from florida going about 60-65 mph on a interchange from I-75 to I-24 when my car locked up completely, it sent me into a spin that I over corrected and threw the car into neutral and had to correct my steering from hitting a guard rail while avoiding 2 semis and 2 cars. We actually got out of this situation by the grace of god and not a single scratch to us or the car. Found out this morning 6/25/2018 that our transmission was the cause and is in the process of being replaced. Is there any other complaints about this situation. And the car has only 18306 miles on it and it's a 2017 Mazda6.
The car will not power down when you shut off the car the shift is not working properly and it is manufactor defect.
Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Mazda m6. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, parked, then the vehicle did not shot off when the start/stop button was depressed. After six or seven times attempting to turn the vehicle off it finally shot off. The contact also stated that in the past two weeks the failure occurred five other times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer Mazda of milford 915 boston post road milford connecticut 06460, they determined that that the shifter assembly failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000. Bp.
Early 2014 Mazda 6's were equipped with defective transmissions. To the best of my understand a bearning of the wrong diameter was installed leading to an initial symptom of a high pitched whine at highway speeds. Mazda's solution is to replace the transmission, but if it's out of warranty this comes at the customer's own cost (~$5,000). There has been a TSB about this for years now #05-005-15-3027a. The issues are that there is no telling when the symptoms will occur and when I asked Mazda what would happen to the transmission if I wasn't replaced, they declined to give me an answer. It is of concern to the safety of drivers that Mazda deal with this problem.
Transmission roughly jerks itself into 2nd-3rd gear. When the car has come to a stop and is then accelerated, engine stalls for a few seconds, then slams itself into 2nd or 3rd gear. This poses as a rear-end threat, as the car is forcefully put into gear, causing the car to jerk forward suddenly. For me this only occurs at lower speeds (10-30 mph). I have researched this problem and many others have come across the same thing.
Engine won't shut off sometimes when automatic transmission is in park. Push the engine off button the engine is off accessories and instrument panel lights are on as if trying to start the engine. Push the engine start button starts the engine. It'll keep cycling these two mode and can't turn off engine completely. Dealer knows about this problem occurring in Mazda6. $400 to replace shifter assembly. They suggest I shift the transmission into neutral w/ brakes on to turn off engine, then shift to park. Chance of accident increase with this "suggestion".
I have an automatic 07 Mazda 6 s grand touring that is having a problem with the transmission jerking. The car only has 100k miles on it. The jerk normally happens between gears 4-6.
Ignition does not turn off when start/stop button is pressed--intermittent problem. The vehicle may not start or may not turn off when the start/stop button is pressed. It may not be possible to secure the vehicle if the ignition does not turn off. The problem began a few months ago, has become more and more frequent. We are concerned the vehicle will fail in some unanticipated way while we are driving it. Mazda has identified the problem as relating to the transmission shift switch. The original part material has been replaced by more durable material, so the manufacturer recognizes the original part was not durable enough. For details, please go to https://Mazda. Oemdtc. Com/665/ignition-does-not-turn-off-when-pressing-startstop-button-2013-2014-Mazda#more-665.
Engine cradle subframe rusting/rusted out prematurely. Holds engine in place. Stationary.
My automatic 2014 Mazda 6 touring down-shifts the transmission when the "hangup" or "answer" button on the steering wheel is pressed while the car is in motion. This issue was recognized by me on Saturday may 20, 2017. I was connected to bluetooth speaking with my wife while driving home from work traveling approximately 65mph on the freeway. When I attempted to press the "hangup" button on my steering wheel, my vehicle downshifted gears causing my car to rev up to 5,000-6,000 rpm. Without first realizing the cause and in an absolute panic, I attempted to put my car into neutral and then back into drive in order for the transmission to catch the correct gear; all while driving 65mph on the freeway. This maneuver allowed the vehicle to correct itself to the appropriate rpm. I later learned that multiple presses of either the "hangup" or "answer" button will downshift the vehicle further regardless of the speed the vehicle is traveling, therefore increasing the risk of surpassing safe rpms while driving. I was able to reproduce this effect every time thereafter. I brought my car to the dealership on Tuesday may 23, 2017 and they claimed to "never heard of that before". The dealer claims to have identified the issue and suggests "replacing the spiral cable behind the steering wheel. " for reference, my vehicle does not have paddle shifters. I am very very concerned about pushing other buttons in my vehicle in fear that something else may cause me to lose control and crash my vehicle - injuring myself or others.
This car has had many random computer problems starting with transmission locking in low gear until you stop the car and restart. Car shuts off displaying automatic stop break got very hard and steering very hard. My daughter had an accident last week 2/2/17 due to vehicle loss of power hard breaking and steering. Called Mazda with no response.
The car sometimes has a delay between going from reverse into drive. During the delay, the engine revs up and then it lurches forward. This seems to be happening more frequently with a longer time before the engine engages. This also occurred after stopping at a stop sign (and staying in drive the entire time. ) the car has ~12,000 miles on it but this has been happening soon after I purchased it brand new from the dealer with less than 10 miles on the odometer.
I was at a stoplight with my foot on the brake when the engine started to rev up, then I heard a thud and the car lurched forward and it felt like I was hit from behind. I pulled over to check for damage but nothing. This is a safety issue and there should be a recall as I see on the web others are having the same experience. The car is going to the Mazda dealer ASAP to see if they can correct the problem.
The car has very serious issues with the transmission. When driving it jerks violently when switching gears from 2nd to 3rd gear and some times to the 4th gear. The dashboard some times shows the car has switched to the 3rd gear while the car is still revving abnormally high in 2nd gear. The transmission has some very serious and potentially deadly issues. This issues tend to occur frequently when accelerating from a stop. (the car's acceleration is very weak, I don't know if this is related to the issue or not ).
On Nov 27 16 the following safety issue occurred to my auto. While driving about 20-25 mph in slow traffic my vehicle threw itself out of gear, the engine raced, after a couple of seconds it violently went back in gear. Prior to this happening the transmission had locked up twice and the auto could not be moved. By turning the ignition on and off that lock-up was freed. During this same driving period the following malfunction lights illuminated intermittently; engine light, low tire pressure, air bag, traction control (repeatedly). The autos engine was missing intermittently running rough. Operating conditions: ambient temp: 78f, no wind, dry roadway, no precipitation. I contacted manufacturers Mazda assist, they requested towing, auto is now at the dealer in (wallace) in stuart, florida, I informed Mazda assist that I considered the car unsafe to drive, as I am handicapped and the holiday traffic was totally jammed I was force to drive slowly home on the 20 mph fla turnpike. .
