Cam adjustment solenoids leak oil into the engine wiring harness causing component failures, rough running and stalling. This problem was diagnosed and replaced by the dealer at 48k miles and has returned at 116k miles. There is a recall for models prior to 2012 and this car has the same problem. Eventually the engine will quit running at any given moment posing a dangerous situation.
Re-seal upper timing covers of the cylinder head timing covers are seeping. 2016 E350 has less thank 19k on it. The fluids can potentially leak onto the roads causing a hazard, it is also a fire hazard, as well as an environmental issue. This was identified by revolution mercedes in decatur, GA. After reading some forums, I have seen where others are having similar issues and believe this should be addressed.

The crankshaft pulley is a two piece item. When excessive pressure is on it the pieces separate and disable the car. Upon replacing the belt or belt tensioner more pressure is exerted on the crankshaft pulley. Thus it fails and again disables the vehicle. When doing either of the replacement tasks mercedes fails to check this or mention it to customers. Thus months later it fails and previous belt replacement of belt tensioner replacement has to be done again. This creates a dual expense without fixing the issue the first time. Expense is in the thousands.

Mercedes benz had a previous recall campaign # 2009100001 which affected vehicles until 2012 and mine is a 2014 model E350. It has the same issue with engine severely misfiring and jerky on the road as if it is going to stop in the middle of freeway while driving and cause a safety risk for my family and others on the road. Specific component is oil leaks from transmission wiring harness and ecm connector. The leak is from camshaft hall sensors and transmission drain plug. Mercedes benz dealer in pleasanton, CA has confirmed the issue after I paid $218 for diagnosis.

A summary of the may 9, 2021, event follows: 6:30 a. M: I woke up, put on gym clothes and shoes and drove to gym (1 mile from home). 7:01:40 a. M. Turned into the gym parking lot and slowly inched into a parking space. (my mercedes rides low in the front so I pull in slowly so the block will not scrape my bumper). 7:02:00 a. M. As I pull slowly into the parking space the car stalls and the engine begins revving very loud. I firmly press my right foot (foot was already on the brake as I was inching into the space) on the brake because the car is still making that revving sound. 7:02:15 a. M. The car is at a complete stop for some time. The engine begins revving even louder and surges forward (foot was still on the brake) four feet. The car hits the brick gym building and comes to a standstill. I turn off the engine and sit there stunned. ( a witness signed a statement and said "car was at a complete stop for some time. . . Thought driver would open her door and get out but then the car suddenly surged forward and hit the building"). After getting out of my car and inspecting the wrecked car, I notice the gas cap is open and I shut it. The police show up, and say "no police report" will be made. I have some injuries (concussion, bruises over full torso and legs) but I treat patients with tbis so self-diagnosed and treated my injuries without seeking additional medical attention. On may 9, 2021, I call csaa and report the accident. After several conversations with csaa claims advisor karl arnold, it appears the car frame is damaged, and repair costs exceed value of car. The building had no damage. I then attempted to access relevant data on the edr and was misled by the mercedes fairfield dealership, service unit. I was told by josh “the data is irretrievable, and you can’t get it”. I asked why would congress pass the edr in to law making edrs mandatory and data belongs to owner, if it is not retrievable? he had no answer. I need help with my crankshaft please I see a lot of people are having the same problem.
I am reporting a finding on my engine (m276) that is the same related to other mercedes engine models m272 and m273. Recently, I discovered oil in all four (4) engine camshaft solenoid (p/n 276-156-07-90) connectors and the wire harness plug. This is the same problem as described in Mercedes Benz campaign no. 2012070002, dated September 2012. There should not be any migration of oil beyond the housing of the camshaft solenoid. This is a design defect and the safety concern is that if left uncorrected can cause stoppage of the engine.
My car was running suddenly stop and does not start, I take it to mercedes dealer and they charge me $195. 00 plus tax to scanned it they found the ecm engine control module need to be replace. Cost is $2,300 plus tax. Please contact me for at your convenience so I can take further steps towards Mercedes Benz.
2006 mercedes ml350 balance shaft - class action lawsuit - defective. Went into low gear while running. Will not come back to normal. Code from diagnosis states the problem as timing chain. Mercedes states " maybe fixed in good faith" . Bad balance shaft from factory. Many problems with this defective part. But we need money up front to fix which we don't have. From mercedes repair shop.
Car had quarter tank when bought. Drove out gas and put about another quarter tank of gas in. Drove this out. Smelled no fumes. Filled tank up. Have smelled loud gas smell for 1 week now.
The contact owns a 2008 mercedes-benz E350. The contact stated that an independent mechanic diagnosed that the vehicle leaked fuel from the top of the fuel filter into the back seat of the vehicle. Also, the check engine indicator illuminated. The contact called mercedes-benz of ontario at 909-212-8400 (located at 3787 e guasti rd, ontario, CA 91761), but did not receive a return call. Mercedes dealership informed me that the rear main seal of my automobile is leaking and could be extremely dangerous. They have refused to correct this safety violation. They have to pull the engine to correct it. This leakage could cause a fire causing loss of life. I was informed the dealer would repair this for anyone driving a 2014 diesel auto. Since less then 3% of cars are diesel powered this is obviously a way for mercedes to avoid repairs. They started repairing this problem in diesel cars before my warranty expired. I have brought my mercedes in for regular maintenance checks. It is obvious that the company is trying to avoid losses rather than repairing safety problems. My auto was purchased brand new. I am worried about my life and my children. This is gross negligence and could lead to loss of life if not corrected.

The transmission occasionally jerks when shifting from first to second gear, then it won't shift at all. The only way it fixes is if you pull over, turn the car off and restart. It continues to do this periodically. Now it won't shift at all so I had to get off the highway to drive slow otherwise a burning sell and smoke comes from the engine. Happened to many others if you look online. Obvious flaw with the transmissions. Should be a recall- very expensive for consumer to fix.
The cam solenoid sensors are picking up oil, then it is being disbursed in to the electrical systems of the vehicle. It is flowing into, O2 sensors making the vehicle run in a full rich mode, it is reaching the computer system that runs the entire vehicle. This repair can cost upwards of $8000. I have done online research and it is a very common issue amongst many mercedes vehicles. The issue is a known problem, it was being repaired but mercedes stopped the repair. It comes from an internal issue, not a fail to maintain problem. I contacted mercedes, they say they don't know of the issue, but they did tell me, they know how to fix the problem for a cost of over $ 5000. To us. Online searches have resulted in many complaints by owners. Regular driving is a result of the issue. Now we can't drive out vehicle due to fear of the oil in the electrical lines reaching our cpu for the entire car, which will result several thousand more dollars on top of the repair cost. We have paid $ 800. At this point only to be told, do not drive the care or worse damage will occur. So we have a beautiful car that is collecting leaves and dust. I await your response, garyw. Smith. We contacted mercedes bens of raleigh nc, they are our contact point, they don;t know of an issue but know the cure for $5000. Plus dollars, hmmm, curious. . .
Upon filling up gas tank you can smell gas around the rear of the vehicle. This happens for the first day or two after filling up and then becomes less and less over time until you fill up again. There is a much stronger smell when inside an enclosed garage and I am worried about the fumes being ignited by a water heater pilot flame.
Fan fire. Oil smelling smoke which turned to flames.
Engine light came on when I was driving. Did diagnostic and it says camshaft sensor problem. Which means it's not only the diesel models with this issue.
Engine code p0016 and p0017. Defective balance shaft and sprockets.
Foot on brake to effect reverse and the engine accelerated at high speed uncontrolled and hit two cars in reverse and totally destroyed my car. . The vehicle was stopped in a parking lot.
