Gasoline fuel system problem of the 2012 Mercedes Benz E350. Driver side fuel leak was excessive. Leak caused an excessive amount of gas to spill while driving on a 600 mile long round trip to st. Louis. The fuel filter sending unit had numerous stress cracks in the plastic. A massive failure was looming. I have pictures and have documented the failure. 2184700194 was the original part and now has changed too 2184700994. A component should be easily inspected to prevent such a dangerous situation. For the past 13 all services work was preformed by mercedes.

Sometimes my blind spot warning arrows will just blink while I'm driving and they won't let me know of the blind spot also my windshield is leaking through the windshield when it rains it leaks the side of the roof part is not put on properly I can tell that it is not even on both sides.

Was informed about the extended warranty for the rusting rear sub-frame issues on this make and year. Upon speaking with the dealership and further research online the rear hard brake lines are rusted as well and not covered by mercedes. Upon further research this a common issue and danager to my safety and others as well. Upon work required to fix rear sub-frame would make it easier job to also replace rusted brakes lines. But mercedes does not cover that and wants to charge customers a extra 3500$ to fix something that should not be happen as well. With the sub-frame out for replacement would make sense to replace other rusted parts with the extended warranty. It's a major safety issues already with rusted sub-frame and also added rusted brakes lines. This should be investigated further into to keep everyone safe. There are lot of owners unaware of this issues that could lead to brake failure. We use our brakes to stop and most new cars should not be having this issue so early.

Recall exists related to a potential issue with the high-pressure fuel pump, which could lead to engine stalling and increase crash risk. My 2012 mercedes E350 stops the engine in the middle of the road couple of times and for some reason, its stops or shut off the engine completely. The last time I was pulling out on the main road and stop right there. I made a big traffic, and I was scared because I cannot start the car. The guy stops and help me to push out of the road, but we cannot push the vehicle unless someone is inside the car. If I go out, it will automatically go on "park" and cannot push the car. When you check the dashboard the check engine light is not on. 2nd incident I bring this car to Mercedes Benz dealership, and I told them that there is something wrong in my car, I explain what was wrong but, the guy I talk to, told me that if the check engine light is not coming on, my car is fine. I repeated that the car stops ones in a while when the temperature light is on inside the dashboard and the engine shuts off. He told me if the check engine light turns on then I bring it back. I show the code reading but the same thing he said. I left and went back home and suddenly I get stranded again; I got stock in the middle of the road for 3 to 4 minutes. I start the car and suddenly the car starts and find the nearest place to pull over. I let it call down for couple of hours and start again, the car starts and try to go back home. When I was in the interstate hwy. My car engine shut off, so I quickly pull over, but I was having a hard time to turn the wheel. I believe that this is very unsafe and should have mercedes dealer has to repair this issue. I research on the website that 2012 Mercedes Benz E350 have recall to a potential issue with the high- pressure pump and other things like battery fuse relay box positive terminal and low fuel circuit.

Yes, it is available for inspection upon request. The instrument cluster showed some messages* randomly appearing/beeping on and off but there were other issues present: • acceleration not possible in drive • at one point transmission would not shift from gear 3 • *speedometer would go up and down randomly until it eventually stayed at 0 physically and digitally as I was going 55-60 mph • *check engine light on • ‘brake’ light on • failed • *distance sensors failed • *stability control failed • *electronic braking system failed • *power steering failed • *cruise control failed • *mercedes pre-safe failed • *blind spot assist failed • *lane keeping assist failed • *adaptive highbeam assist failed • *mileage was not displaying on the dash • car would not shut off as I pushed the off button when I managed to eventually stop • *climate temperature sensor reaching temps of 127 degrees fahrenheit. I lost control of the vehicle while driving on the highway at relevant speeds. I was unable to safely stop for some time. If this had been at night, the issue would have been even more dangerous. This car has previously slammed on the brakes erroneously (no visually perceived danger of a forward collision). These previous brake slamming issues happened once in a traffic jam on the highway and once on a main road. Not that I know of or remember, no. Before this latest incident, I have previously left my car at the dealership’s workshop to be inspected for some relevant issues and concerns that I have had. It was there for almost 2 months on one occasion. There was only one warning lamp on the instrument cluster related to the collision prevention assist being inoperative. This message has been on the dash for maybe a year or more. The times it previously slammed on the brakes erroneously, no messages were on the dash.

I don’t know why your system is stating that there is not a recall there definitely is a recall in 2023. They recalled the subframe with the extended warranty covering it because it’s been corroded and nearly dropped out of the bottom of my car. I only found out that it was so rusted and corroded by taking it to an auto mechanic because my brakes spongy and my brake light came on, so I took it in automatically to get looked at, and the mechanic said that I needed two rear brake lines, and then proceeded to tell me about the corrosion all around my subframe which needed to be replaced, which is under warranty however, my question is why is the brake lines not covered when I’ve been reading numerous complaints about the corrosion of it and yet they still have not put an extended warranty to cover that which they should do now before a definite recall is set in place with all of the complaints coming in. I’m very upset because now mercedes is telling me that another $3000 job. I do not have an additional $3000 for this to get fixed so I ask you, how can I get some help here?.

August 2024, while driving on a 4 lane highway at 65 mph, a warning appeared on gauge cluster saying that electronic stability control and traction control inoperable. This caused the car to reduce power, requiring me to quickly pull over. The car continued running but I was limited on mph and gear selection (aka limp mode). I turned the car off, allowing the systems to reset. After driving approximately 1 miles, the same warnings appeared. Fortunately, I was within a mile from home at the time so I was able to "limp" the car home. The next day, I checked the car again by driving in my neighborhood with the result. I had the car transported on roll back to express oil and tire in barboursville, wv as my "local" mb dealer is an hour away. They checked the car and the engine control module was defective and needed replacement. The cost of the service including new mb parts and programming would be $2,495. I tried for 2 months to secure funding to fix the car to no avail. I had the car towed on roll back again but back to my house. The car has sat since then.

The fuel pump filter failed and myself and grandchildren became sickened by the fumes. Once the back seat was removed and inspected by an independent source you could see how the gas had leaked into this area. There was no warning lights or messages that had appeared. This problem could easily ignited a dangerous fire situation.

I received a letter from mercedes stating there was concern over 2010 to 2014 (est) that should be checked after 10 years. I can not find that letter. I have a 2014 eclass 350 model. Can you please tell me what is was? thanks.

On [xxx] I was driving and the vehicles stalled in the middle of the street, I couldn’t start it back. I managed to contact aaa and had the vehicle towed to my home because it around 6pm and auto repair shops were closed. Next morning I had aaa towed the vehicle to a local auto repair shop and they told me that fuel pump failed. It would have been very dangerous if we were driving on the freeway, not to mention I had my 85 year old mother in the passenger seat. Please help me as I am sure what I need to do now. I purchased the car late April. I drove the car for three or four days and started noticing a rattling coming the front right part of the car (passenger side. ). I chatted with the warranty company (silverrock. ). They asked me to take it to a meineke auto repair facility in olympia, wa. Meinke’s mechanic diagnosed it as a loose component involving the brake caliper. He informed me they were covering it under the warranty, & asked me to bring the car back on Wednesday as he was short staffed. I brought the car back on Wednesday, it was there all day. He called late in the afternoon and informed me they found the problem and that silverrock had amended the claim and refused to cover it. Told me it needed new brakes for 800+ bucks. That being said it was also sold to me with gouges out of several tires. Of which I have photos. This is inexcusable it is also a safety issue.

My vehicle suddenly stopped in the middle of road. It showed gas tank empty though tank had half tank gas. I would have been hit by a vehicle behind me. Fortunately, there were no vehicles behind me. I filled the remaining half tank , then car started again. I believe that gas sensor was not working. I dropped the vehicle for service to the Mercedes Benz dealerwith full tank of gas. It was showing empty gas tank and I can drive zero miles. Dealer told me after 3 days that gas tank needs to be replaced. My concern is that , manufacturer might have made a defective gas sensor or gas tank. This may lead for deaths. It may need a recall , if you have received similar complaints. The panoramic sunroof exploded while inside the car without warning. Contacted the dealership/service center on Friday 9/15/2023, was told they have not received a memo regarding the panoramic sunroofs in the 2022 E350, however; this is a know problem. I was told that this is not covered of my warranty because they assume something had to hit the glass, provided evidence via my security camera that not fell and hit the glass. Even after this happened the warning system did not even go off to indicate there was a problem.

Rear suspension control arm bracket rusted, broken off from frame of vehicle makes a slight to moderate sound when driving or going off bumps I avoid rough surfaces, I drive at a respectable speed ,I never came across as long I owed this vehicle.

This is the second report filing about the trunk lid closing without initiating the automatic closure. In order to keep this record accurate, the vehicle was brought into the Mercedes Benz dealer, (where it was purchased), on may 23, 2023. The service advisor came to the car to instruct me on how to use the mechanism. He was unable to operate it correctly either. The car was also brought in for other needed repairs. When the car was returned to me on may30th, this same service advisor reported to me that the dealership was unable to correct the problem with the trunk lid mechanism. On June 12, when I was retrieving some items from my trunk, not using the automatic mechanism, the trunk lid unexpectedly crashed down and struck me in the head. I experienced headache and bruise on the back of my head. The salesman and administrative team at the dealership said they declined to return my phone calls, or speak directly with me about this matter, due to fear of being sued.

Per the technician: "the rear subframe is rusted out and the lateral strut arm is starting to break away". Because of this issue, the car unknowingly presented a safety risk to occupants and other drivers. A failure of the subframe or connected components could have resulted in a serious accident. Photos are attached. The vehicle is currently available for inspection upon request. There were no warning indicators to this issue. The issue was found only because the car was being serviced for brake pads. Mercedes benz USA customer care said there was no recall or other warranty covering the issue and said the vehicle was outside their "good will assistance program". The vehicle is no longer able to be driven.

May 4, 2023 at approximately 5:45 pm, while reaching into the trunk of my car, the trunk lid came crashing down on me. To avoid being struck on the head, I blocked it with me left forearm. The trunk lid caused a large nasty and painful wound. I immediately texted my sales person, and text him a picture of my injury. I also left a voicemail message for him at the dealership. Unfortunately, this is not the first time the issue with the truck lid has happened to me. On another occasion, while reaching into the trunk, I was able to avoid being struck by the trunk lid, when it unexpectedly came crashing down. At approximately 8:50 am, on may 5, 2023, a follow-up call was made to the dealership since my salesman did not return my call. The male who I spoke to about this serious safety issue assured me that I would receive a return call the same day and listed three male supervisors by name. Since I did not receive this promised return call, I made an appointment with the service department to document this dangerous issue. Of note: my feet were not under the rear pumper to activate the trunk lid, and the obstacle feature failed to stop the lid from crashing down.

The rear subframe of my vehicle failed at the lower trailing arm mounting point (passenger side). This resulted in the car swerving to the right when I applied pressure to the brake pedal, which was worse at higher speeds. This had been getting progressively worse for a few weeks until I almost spun out on the highway while braking. The next day, I randomly got a flat tire on the rear right side while driving at 30mph near valley street in providence. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the failure. I immediately replaced the tire and brought it to midas on mineral spring Ave in north providence, ri, so that they could inspect the vehicle. They discovered that the rear subframe was almost completely disconnected at the lower trailing arm mounting point due to excessive rust that had wore a hole in the part from the inside-out, which was not visible at the time of the last inspection. Midas immediately informed me that the car was unsafe to drive more than the distance back to my house. They also informed me that 3 tires needed to be replaced, including the flat, as a result of excessive wear on the inner wall and the inner edge of the tread. None of these three tires had reached the wear bars yet, and midas confirmed they would not have had to be replaced if not for the subframe defect. I had the car towed to mercedes-benz of warwick after midas replaced the 3 tires (rl, rr, fr) because I heard that mercedes had recently extended the warranty period for rear subframes (only months after a class action lawsuit was filed about the issue). Mercedes inspected the vehicle and confirmed the issue, and is currently replacing the rear subframe under the new extended warranty program for rear subframes. However, they refuse to reimburse me for the other issues directly caused by the corroded rear subframe (which they admit liability for when they replace the part free of charge), stating they have been instructed by corporate that related issues are not covered.

Steering wheel lock mechanism failed.

Both headrests have now exploded in this car. I see there have been class actions lawsuits filed but mercedes got these dismissed. There is a cheap plastic piece that holds the headrest in place which just explodes without any impact or accident. "the mercedes class action lawsuit was filed by four plaintiffs who claim the neck-pro active headrests are defective because the activate head restraints allegedly deploy without crash impacts. " the car was parked in each of the incidents. One hit my passenger in the head. The driver side headrest exploded today when I moved the seat. I called mercedes but was just sent on a wild goose chase.

Rear subframe corrosion causing rear subframe failure/rusting which is a huge hazard. Mercedes benz in several countries have recalled the rear subframe and are replacing free of charge. Mercedes benz USA is not acknowledging this recall, it is a major issue and thousands are impacted.

Rear subframe corrosion/damage leading to rust/holes and unsafe driving. This issue can cause the bottom of the vehicle to collapse. Mercedes benz across many countries acknowledge this as a recall and repairs free of charge except USA. Usa should acknowledge this defect as well.

Rear sub-frame rusting/rotting.

The subframe of my vehicle is prematurely rusting, creating the risk of unpredictable, catastrophic failure. This failure could cause loss of control of the vehicle and severe injury and/or death. The vehicle is available for inspection. My independent mechanic is aware this is a known problem with these vehicles, and has been monitoring mine, and his mother’s, for damage. By August 2023, my vehicle will fail pennsylvania’s safety inspection. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by any entity other than my mechanic. There is no warning, from any system of the vehicle, of the deterioration, extent of deterioration, or impending failure of the subframe.

My check engine light has been on for about a year, I have been told by both the dealerships here in memphis/collierville that as long as the light is an orange color there is nothing to worry about but it has been on consistently for about a year. I had a diagnostic test done on [xxx] by dr. Benz affordable Mercedes Benz care and it was revealed that me control module, oxygen sensor, engine wiring harness has oil intrusion all throughout. I would hate to attempt to drive my vehicle and all of a sudden it is severely damaged because of this. I feel this may be a very costly expense and would like some assistance in taking care of this matter. I love my car and have not had any problems, and hope to have it several years more. There is a hole rusted through the vehicle's rear subframe assembly and it is dangerous to drive. My car is an E350 mercedes with 78,000 miles and garage-kept. Mercedes knows of this issue and is not helping anyone with this problem. The job costs about 5000. 00 to fix.

Rust on the rear subframe and car will not pass inspection. Mb will not help and these cars are a danger to the people on the road and will cause death if this problem is not fixed. People cannot afford 5k to fix this problem. All these cars with this problem and mb is not taking the blame for this and not listing this as a recall till someone dies.

I have video available that shows significant premature corrosion of the rear subframe and brake line. The safety of others will be put at risk at the time of failure. Failed subframes can lead to loss of control. This problem has been identified and the part inspected by a mercedes dealership. There are no warning lamps or messages to alert the driver that failure is imminent. This was discovered in the process of the car being serviced for an unrelated emissions recall. Many mercedes owners report having severe rear subframe and brake line corrosion issues on message boards. Some reported their cars unexpectedly sway and drift to one side while breaking. In multiple european countries, mercedes is apparently aware of the problem and is voluntarily replacing the rear subframe for free. However, in the USA, mercedes is quoting their customers approximately 6,000 to 7,000 to rectify the issue. Without nhtsas intervention, dealer service departments will continue to profit from the failure of this critical component. Customers unprepared to pay for such a significant repair will defer maintenance until they can afford to address the matter. Some of these cars will be dumped at trade in and passed on to unsuspecting consumers. Those consumers may be your friends and loved ones. We need government to step in and protect the public interest. “if not you, then who? if not now, when?”.

Driver's side rear subframe has rusted to the point metal is split open. This was found during routine maintenance service at dealer. While braking the vehicle pulls to the left. If not replaced, wheel can fall off.

I own a 2014 mercedes-benz E350, 4matic. That yeah car has approximately 64,500 miles on it. I recently took it in for service and was advised that the rear subframe has a whole rusted through on the left side. The dealers advice was to replace the rear subframe. I was advised that it is not presently a safety issue, but it was going to be a safety issue as the rust continued. I was dubious about this advice, so I took the vehicle to a second dealer, who also identified the rust issue in the same area. Both dealer representatives advised that they had seen these issues before with the 350 class, and that there had been many complaints about them. I am aware that mb has replaced subframes on this group of cars in germany and in canada already—this is a well-known issue. The repair will cost between 3,800-5,000, but my real concern is that the subframe will fail and cause injury or death before it can be repaired. I do not believe this to be ordinary wear and tear as the car is relatively young, and rust is a very controllable problem with current vehicle technology. I am concerned that the scope of this problem is widespread, as both dealer representatives said that they had seen many cars with this issue. It needs to be recalled and repaired before people are injured or die.
