Car smells like gas. Constantly a couple machanic. Did some repairs. But there’s a small leak as well from a smoke test. Gas leaks in more than one area. Oil leaks everywhere. Evap leak didn’t pass smog. Then went to a smog station and repair. Check engine light back on again. I saw mercedes had an extended warranty to avoid recalling several safety complaints. I got the car from a guy who never looked into recalls or extended warranty for these complaints. Please help me to get refunded what I payed so far with repairs on gas leaks. Also to repair the whole gas system. It is dangerously ongoing. I never got notified by mercedes nor did the previous owner.

2005 E500 Mercedes Benz, after full tank of gas I filled. I noticed very strong gas inside my car and outside. It can catch on fired. Cause cancer and lung issues.
The 2005 E500 w211 gas tank cracks leaking fuel sending unit and fuel pump. The odor of gas permeates the cabin, recall campaign number 2008-020001, and it’s extension information of 15 years dated Jan. 2015 signed by ralph s. Fisher gm customer assistance center. The dealer in hawai’I refuse to honor the recall warranty. It’s traveling a bomb.
The car has smelled like gas from the minute I received it. The previous owner told me that mercedes had quoted 5 grand to fix it so I would only put half a tank in at a time. Turns out there was a warranty on it but has since expired. Why wasn't it fixed for free when the previous owner brought it? this is very dangerous and can cause an explosion. The warranty should have been fixed rather than quoted and seems very greedy to not disclose that information but instead giving a quote. I have lung and heart problems and this is a definite safety issue that needs to be corrected regardless of the age of the car also brought it to dealership scared and they told me too bad it's been too long. How is a gas leak an ok thing to dismiss?????? I have been trying to get this fixed for years and this is my 2nd attempt for a recall with no response at all.

Engine stopped while running the car. Had to have a local repair shop replace both sending units and seals/gaskets. I believe this is a recall already but I paid for it?.
Strong fuel smell in cabin.
Smell gas.
Red colored message appeared on dashboard window readout indicating a problem with the gas cap. The message appears inter mitenaly while driving along with the check engine message. Message came on 7/717 while driving on highway and continues except when engine is shut down.
Strong smell of gasoline.
"takata recall" each year it fails the emmission test the failed code is po456. I had an evap system test ran they said it was a problem with the purge valve, eval hose, and the filler neck. (leaks). In my own words, the engine comes on and off, the computer is indicating that the truck is open when it is not, the seatbelt tighten up and makes a clicking noise while I'm driving, and sometimes I can't get out of the car it locks me inand I have to push the unlock button on the dash, and the alarm comes on whenever! and the tire pressure indicator stays on and we recently had new tires put on. We had it balanced and an alignment done as well. Other than that the car is still driving well. I thought benz was one of the best vehicles but I'm not so sure about that now with these concerns! these things happen when in motion except for the alarm going off. I think there may be a problem with the fuel system and I hope this car don't blowup on me! s royster.

I smelled a strong scent of gas after parking my car yesterday, more prominent in the trunk. I brought my car into mercedes today and was told I had a crack in my fuel filter. I have heard complaints regarding the fuel system and wonder if it is a recall issue. Thank you.
Heavy smell of gas fumes after refilling my E500. The smell is worst around the drivers back seat. The smell of gas is both inside and outside of the car. Horrible to drive the car - even with windows and roof open.
I am referencing action # pe12001. After each of my last two feelings, the car is emitting a very strong smell of gasoline. I park my car in my garage and the smell is strong enough that I can smell it in my home. I am extremely fearful that there will be a fire. I do not desire to park my car outside, but I believe the car is unsafe to keep in garage. I have lost confidence in my car fearing that even driving it around town could pose a danger to me and my passengers.
A couple weeks after my brake hydrolics went out (which was repaired under warrenty) I started to notice a strong gas smell from inside of my car, along with a check engine light. After a couple weeks of airing out I decided to take it in to Mercedes Benz of littleton for repair. I was charged $1500 for the repair, which still left my car smelling like gas and check engine light came back on with the same error code(small evap. Leak) I lifted the back seat to find the bottom soaked in gunnky gas along with electrical wires running through the leak area. I'm afraid my car will catch on fire or blow up. I'm sick of these dangerous malfunctions that I feel mercedes knows about but won't repair for free. I asked the service tech what I can do to prevent this from happening and he said "n othing". Now I'm $1500 in the drain and the problem is not fixed, and I was reassured the problem would show up again.
Fuel leaks and fuel fumes in cabin.
After refueling my E500 (filling it up), driving it home and parking it in the garage, shortly afterwards there was a very strong gasoline odor in my home. I have an attached garage which unfortunately has a piece of door facing missing from the side entry door, which is how the fumes flowed into my attic and through the ac vents throughout my entire home. The fumes were so intense I experienced chronic coughing, headache, and itching around my eyelids. The local gas company came out and performed their normal routine only to inform me it wasn't natural gas nor carbon-monoxide. As he checked the hot water heater located in the garage, he immediately stated it was my car. I could smell gasoline fumes around my car as well as inside. It was so strong, I left my car outside the garage over night, raised the garage door (both doors), opened all windows in my home and shortly the fumes had dissipated. I have reported this to mb corporate customer care and waiting to see what assistance they will offer me as my car is out of warranty, but for the benefit of owners who still have warranty vehicles, there needs to be something done by the dealership. This is a very dangerous situation and the repair burden should not be the responsibility of the owner. I am making an appointment with the dealership to get a diagnosis. It is my hope mb will do the right thing.
