Nhtsa campaign number: 19v904000 manufacturer Ford motor company components service brakes, hydraulic vehicle regarding complaint: 2008 Mercury Milan vehicle VIN: 3mehm08138r665795 good day, in September of 2021 I took the above mentioned vehicle in for the above stated recall regarding the hydraulic control unit. The vehicle was taken to westlie motor company 500 s broadway minot, nd 58701 (701) 852-1354. The vehicle was tested and did in fact fail the test and I was informed the replacement part would be ordered promptly. After two months of no calls from the dealership I stopped in and was told they had no idea about the part. I was assured it would be looked in to. The first week of December I was called and requested the vehicle be brought in for the recall service. I took the vehicle in December 6th and after two hours was notified service was finished. Upon driving home I immediately noticed the problem had not been fixed. I returned to the dealership upon inspecting the vehicle having noticed the no obvious repairs had been done. Demanding explanation I was told that it was a miscommunication and recall work had not been done. Only a brake flush and cap replacement. I was then again told that they were not sure where the part was or when it would arrive. I then escalated a complaint to Ford motor company ( 1-866-631-3788) case # cas34759999-g2s5y2. I was assure Ford would call the company and inform me intermediately as to the situation and a solution. I received no call back and I again phoned in January with the same result. I was told they would look into it and call me back. I again called today Feb 1st and spoke with Ford and was told the same thing with no solution given. I have been dealing with this recall for nearly 6 months. As per your website states, a company or manufacturer must fix or offer a solution in a reasonable time period. I feel 6 months is long enough to find a part. Please help. I want my car safe for my family.
Manufacturer recall number19s54 NHTSA recall number19v904 this recall has been on file since: Dec 18,2019. There is still no remedy. I believe this issue is causing my vehicle to have significant delays in braking into a complete stop. The manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for my vehicle in a timely manner, so I would like to file a formal complaint.
We got the recall letter for the 19s54 anti brake hydrolic control unit. We took my 2007 Milan and they did the text and replaced the cap for the brake fluid. They did the test and said it past on June 26, 2021. On July 2, 2021 I had no brakes. I had it towed to the Ford dealer in forest grove oregon. The manager of service jeff said the hydrolic control unit failed. He let Ford corporate know and gave him info. He asked for a work order number so he could order the part. Corporate has never gotten back to him. My husband has called corporate 2 times and the 2 different ladies we spoke with said they find it odd that this is being a problem. The second lady we spoke with tried to get us a manager on the line to speak to. None of them answered their phones. She called jeff at our for dealer and told him she could not get a manager to answer their phones or email. She told us someone would get back to us. The second call was on Aug 12. How do we get this take care of?.

The contact's sister owns a 2010 Mercury Milan. The contact stated that the brake pedal would depress to the floorboard without warning. The contact also stated that the brake master cylinder and the brake calipers were both replaced by an independent mechanic; however, the failure persisted. The contact then discovered NHTSA campaign number: 19v904000 (service brakes, hydraulic) which he linked to the failure. The dealer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the vehicle exhibited the same failure as stated in the recall; however, there were no recalls associated with the VIN. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and referred him to NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 140,000.
At least once a month, when I pull out of my driveway and press the brake pedal it goes all the way to the floor and the car doesn't stop. This happened again on August 3rd, 2021. I have had it to the dealer for this issue and paid to have the abs valve replaced out of pocket. Ford said the recall "didn't cover my VIN #" and they will not reimburse me. Despite having that part replaced, at significant expense, the issue still happens fairly frequently. Driving the car around the block slowly, repeatedly pumping the brakes, is the only way to temporarily resolve the issue.
So my abs and traction control lights came on while driving, my steering wheel became stiff, and I had zero brakes. I almost hit another vehicle. After being able to pull over and safely park without hurting myself and child or anyone else, I had my husband come get my car. He said that when opening the break fluid cap it was sucked down. It "fixed" itself after the cap was fixed. After a few weeks, my 16 yr old was driving and it happened to her, she pulled over, called me. I came to get her and done what my husband said, shutting the car off, turn the break fluid cap off see if the rubber part was sucked down, and it was , to push it back up, check fluid , put cap back on, restart car. This happens every 2-3 weeks. Driving down a very steep canyon in colorado I feared my breaks going out on me. I looked this issue up and there is a recall on 2010 Mercury Milan hybrids just not for particular VIN. This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed.
After receiving the safety recall notice 19s54 in the mail, I contacted my local Ford dealership and set up an appointment. On may 24, 2021, I brought my car to the dealership for this recall. At this time, I explained that the brake pedal was going to the floor intermittently. The car had 134,880 miles on it. The hydraulic control unit was inspected and supposedly passed. So the dealer flushed the brake system and replaced the cap. After leaving the dealership, the car sat for several weeks. Two weeks after driving it again, I noticed that the brake pedal was going to the floor and it was difficult to stop the vehicle. I called the dealer and set up another appointment. The dealer had me wait about two weeks. On August 2nd, I brought my car back to the dealer for the same brake issue (safety recall 19s54). At this time the car had 135,492 miles. Again they inspected the brakes and the hydraulic control unit. This time they found the hcu assembly to be faulty and recommend that it be replaced. However, Ford motor company is refusing to cover this part under the safety recall 19s54 because they closed the recall after the may appointment. They want us to pay over $1500 to have it fixed.

I have been notified by Ford motor company several times about the recalls on my vehicle. One recall is for airbags. I went to the closest dealership new my small town and thought they issued the fix, only to learn later that they just disconnect the airbag light. The second recall is for the brakes, I have been calling since January of 2021 to request a service date only to be told they have no knowledge of the recall. On March 30,2021 I finally got a service date and express to the representative on the phone to assure that she knew it was for the break recall 19s54, she assured me the knew. I took off work that morning for by service appointment only to be told that they did not have the equipment to fix the issue. I was told to call other dealerships and turned away. I called 4 surrounding dealerships with in a 50 mile radius only to be told no one can perform the procedure. I then called Ford customer relationship center for assistance. She called one other dealership that said they could not fix the issue as well. April 2020 I receive a letter from Ford motor company saying parts are now available to repair you vehicle. Called dealership 5/17/2021 they still cannot fix issue nor have any information on who can. Help! Ford motor company, how can I get the recalls fix if none of your dealerships in my area are capable of repairing them?.
An abs warning light appeared on dashboard. When I was slowing to stop, the brake pedal started going to the floorboard. I was able to stop by almost standing on brake pedal. Ford dealership could find nothing. I checked brake fluid, fine. Light on dashboard were out. Was repeating sporadically, took to another mechanic whose assistant almost went through wall of shop. After code said abs module, replaced. Problem repeated. Currently at another Ford dealership (4weeks waiting on hydrologic control module). Other Mercury Milan hybrid have been recalled, why not this one?.

Nhtsa recall number19v904 recall statusrecall incomplete, remedy not yet available summary on my vehicle, a valve in the hydraulic control unit of the anti-lock braking system may be stuck open. Took it to the north park Lincoln dealer on 23 Apr 2021 and they don't have the part for this recall. Said my inspection for this recall failed and they notified Ford. It's been over 60 days and I am still waiting on this part. My car is not safe to drive as my brakes are very low and its taking longer to slow the car down so my car is basically not being used for fear that the brakes might go out. No one seems to be able to gove me an answer as to when this recalled part will be in. I received the recall letter from Ford telliing me about this recall but letter also said the parts were available and that is why I took it to the dealer. Now im being told still on backorder no idea when part will be received. This causes a problem for me if I can't really use this car because of the safety risk this may result in extended brake pedal travel required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. There are no warning lights yet displayed.

Nhtsa recall number: 19v904 applies to my vehicle and is now over a year old. The manufacturer has yet to issue a remedy. This is far too long for a recall to be in place and still not have a fix. Furthermore, the vehicle now has a second recall, 21v158. How long will this all take?.

They tell me they can do nothing because no parts. What's can I do?.
Ford has failed to issue parts to dealers to fix this 2019 recall. It is now April of 2021 and the recall is still open.
My [xxx] vehicle is under two recall notices. One is for faulty brakes, the other for a faulty driver's side airbag. I believe the NHTSA needs to carefully consider the consequences of this combination of defects. Right when you need the abs protection the system could fail potentially causing a crash and airbag deployment. This could kill the driver and others in the car. Unlike the passenger side airbag recall, this deadly combination renders the vehicle unsafe to drive. Recommend NHTSA order fomoco to provide suitable alternate transportation to affected car owners until recall repairs can be effected. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

At night, as my son was approaching a 4 way stop on a city street in slick, icy conditions, abs kicked in and locked up and slid through the stop sign. Since that time, the abs has not worked. The brakes sill work, but you have depress it nearly all the way. Took it to the mechanic last week, and said hcu valve was sticking and not closing. Noted their was a recall on this for early manufactured model NHTSA #19v904.
