1 Brake Light On problem of the 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Failure Date: 01/07/2018

I was driving on a dead end street and the brakes went all the way to the floor and I had no stopping or slowing down even with pumping the brakes I had the brakes checked a month prior to this because the brake and abs light would come on randomly and the technician at morries Mazda reported to me they were operational. . I ended up hitting a tree (my choices were a line of cars or a tree, so I picked the tree) with the brake malfunction and no air bags deployed at around 30 plus mph. And I sustained injuries. When I looked at the brakes it appeared that the front passenger side brake was the only operational brake as it was the only rotor to not have accumulated a high amount of rust.

2 Brake Light On problem of the 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Failure Date: 08/05/2016

Brake light and abs lights are on. After diagnosis at a repair shop with testing system the fault reads abs hydraulic assembly is defective. The shop stated that since the car was a 2012 I should contact the Mitsubishi dealership to investigate a recall for the abs unit. The dealership stated that recalls for the abs unit involved 2006-2009. Since this is a safety feature I feel a complaint is required.

7 Brake Light On problem of the 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Failure Date: 10/15/2014

Vehicle became unresponsive to braking. Brakes almost go into floorboard before acknowledgement of braking. Car is very wobbly feeling, especially when it's raining or wet outside, the car will slide into anything when using brakes. I had to run up on curb to miss hitting the vehicle in front of me, because the car wouldn't stop! brake light also was on, so repaired it at body shop and replaced master cylinder. After master cylinder was replaced brake light went off but car was still driving the same, (wobbly, not stopping on time, brakes going into floorboard). About a month or less later brake light came back on and body shop said it was brake fluid so they fixed it, then brake light went off, but still driving the same. Rotated tires, replaced old tires and put on new ones, aligned car, replaced break pads, replaced master cylinder, and still nothing has changed. I have spent so much time and thousands of dollars to repair this car and nothing works. I've been without a car during the time it's been repaired to only find out that it can't be repaired no matter what mechanics do. This is completely dangerous and I am just inches away from having an accident and either hurting myself or other people (especially on the interstate). I do not see how anyone can drive a vehicle without brakes working and there needs to be a recall, because this is such a safety hazard. I would appreciate someone taking responsibility of fixing this issue, since me and other Eclipse 2007 owners have taken initiative to fix our vehicles. There are several complaints about the brake system and someone needs to become aware of them before one of us kills ourselves in an accident. Thanks.

9 Brake Light On problem of the 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Failure Date: 03/14/2014

I have been having problems with the braking system for the last 2 years. When I excelerate the brake light comes on. I checked fluid and everything. I drove it again and had to make not even a sudden stop and the pedal went to the floor board and almost did not stop. I have read all over that there are problems with the same thing on this same model car. Not sure why there is no recall on it yet. I have two small young children and am afraid I one day will not be able to stop. When you press on the brakes there is an air or whistle sound coming from them. The pads and rotors are good and the car is a 2008 with 88,000 miles on it. It has never been hard driven. Not sure what the issue is and if the power brake booster is $139 plus fright charge from out of state and that may or may not be the problem.

10 Brake Light On problem of the 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Failure Date: 02/25/2014

Took vehicle to repair station in the parking lot, car sat for several hours before technician could inspect car. Brakes returned to normal function. Mechanic found no exterior issues. No particulate in fluid, fluid within normal parameters, lines intact. Mechanic found no cause of loss of break pressure. Brakes still slightly spongy.
