The dealer said they can't make any repairs, because they don't have the parts to fix the car. So, I called Mitsubishi, and they said there is no repair solution available. So I requested a loaner, since my car is not safe to drive. They told me they don't supply loaners, and that I should continue driving the car unless the brakes fail. Unbelievable! two months later, the brakes failed after abs system was activated in the rain and I slid through an intersection almost causing a major accident on a city street at 45mph after trying to stop using the emergency brake. The dealer wants to charge me for the tow (because the vehicle is disabled) and for storage (because they allegedly don't have parts to do the repair). Mitsubishi offered no help whatsoever. They referred me back to the dealer, and the dealer claims they can't make the repair. I told Mitsubishi about my previous experience, and they were no help at all. They said they aren't authorized to make any decisions, and that only the dealership can opt to tow/repair the car or supply a loaner. So now my car sits in the parking lot, broken down with no brakes, with a recall notice in the passenger seat. They want me to tow the car 45 miles out of my own pocket, or drive the car with no brakes. Then they expect me to pay for the loaner. And they expect me to pay for storage while the car sits on their lot waiting for Mitsubishi to come up with a repair solution. Unbelievable.

I have had several incidents over several months when I step on the brake , it goes to the floor. I quickly pump the brakes and braking effectiveness returns. While driving to work one morning in January around 7:00, my brake pedal went to the floor when I attempted to stop for traffic. The safety recall notice states Mitsubishi will send me a follow up notice when the remedy parts are available. I feel this is not sufficient. I feel my car is too unsafe for driving. It should be towed to a local dealership for immediate repair. I should be given a safe rental car until Mitsubishi can fix the brakes. The dealership has informed me, they have no towing available, I will have to pay for towing and for a diagnostic check if they cannot reproduce the brake failure, even though there is a recall in place. I know this is an intermittent problem and they probably will not be able to reproduce the failure, that should not cost me towing, diagnostic or storage cost. Is Mitsubishi only responsible when there is a crash? I want my car safe for me and my family. I feel Mitsubishi should do more to make this happen.

Dear representative serious anti lock hydraulic brake failure. When I had to brake the other day I had low brake pressure and brake pedal almost went to the floor when I had to come a stop. This is a serious safety item. I had my the car towed to the dealer. The service department determined the abs(antilock brake) system is failing. Abs part is not in stock and the part won't arrive in next few days. As I search on the web , other consumers with the same model car(eclipse 2006-2008) are experiencing the same issue. The government need to get involved before someone get killed. This is a manufacturer defect under mvss. There should be a recall!!! another concern, I have another Eclipse. 07 that can get the same issue . We need a recall so the consumer can be safe and will not have to pay ~$650.
