A few months back I took my car in to have the airbag recall fixed. Flash forward a few months and the airbag light has come on. If somebody sits in the passenger seat the light goes off. The Nissan dealer is saying the OCS sensor sometimes go bad and quotes $400-$1500 to fix the problem. The car has never been in an accident and is kept clean so there is no chance that an item effected the OCS sensor under the seat when the seat was moved. But the more I researched the issue the more suspicious this seems. How do so many people have the same problem. . . And how mamy others have the same problem but cant or dont know how to report it.
Airbag light will not go off, it stays on solid red. I contacted Nissan and was informed 2013 Altima does not fall under the recall for the airbag issue.
Noticed that the airbag indicator light has been staying on no matter if someone is in the passenger seat or not. Going to have it checked out by the dealership who may charge me to run a diagnostic test.
Airbag light came on on the dashboard and is staying on. When an adult passengare sits in the passenger seat, the passenger airbag light does not turn off. This happened about a month ago. I have read several recalls for airbag sensor issue but my car is not listed. Dealership is tells me that there is no recall for the issue and that I have to pay to have it diagnosed and fixed. Car currently cannot pass stated inspection due to this.
The air bag light activated and the engine rpm dropped while driving. The engine accelerator lost power, then picked up speed after pushing on the accelerator.
While driving on street, the gas petal will no longer provide power to the car and begin to slow itself down. I will push on the breaks briefly and try the gas petal to see if it works and it will take a few times before it does. While on the freeway the vehicle again, gas petal would no longer provide power to the car and begin to slow itself down. This has now happened 8 separate times to the car. It will work for a few days and then do it again, with out notice. No check engine light goes on. Second issue is, the steering wheel will also feel extremely loose, not during the same time but when my speed is over 70 mph. Also, the check engine light nor any safety notices will go on. Lastly, the air bag light won't come off. The gas petal issue happened again on July 3th, 2020 and I decided to take it to get looked at. The dealer for a 5 point inspection and they found nothing wrong. I check the NHTSA website and it shows no recalls done. Does this mean they have not been completed?.
(1) the passenger side airbag light is faulty. It is always lit as off even when there is a passenger on the seat. (2) car jerks when changing gears. I was reversing into a parking space. When I tried changing gears from reverse to drive, there was a delay and then the car jerked. As I tried to slowly accelerate, the car would not advance as it normally should. I then parked and the car began to accelerate/ rev while in park. My car is up to date on everything. I'm afraid this could happen on a busy street or highway. Please help.
The passenger airbag issue from campaign id #r1609 in 2014 and again in 2016. The same issue is now happening again. This includes the passenger airbag light showing the airbag is not active when an adult is sitting in the seat. The seat belt light is also on showing the passenger is not buckled up when in fact the seat belt is connected and latched. This happening when the vehicle is both moving and not moving. Nissan issued a consumer affairs case number, but is refusing to fix the issue under the recall due to it being fixed twice before.
The airbag light for the passenger side stays on which means the airbag on the passenger side will not deploy because it's not detecting any weight. Even when someone sits in it it doesn't detect weight. The tires are constantly losing air.
Driver and passenger airbag lights stay on no matter if someone is occupying either seat.
Randomly my airbag light came on. But no airbags ever deployed. Also I beliveve my years transmission has a recall on it. Every now and again it downshifts while I am accelerating on the highway and it terrifies me. I would appreciate feeling safe in my investment.
Head lights are so fun looks as if they are not on, airbag light is constantly on even with passenger in seat, both air bag lights on dask and in console. Doesn't matter if car is in motion or not completely dangerous.
Airbag light stays on. Does not register that driver or passenger are seating in the seats to engage the airbags. No matter how heavy the occupants are the air bag light does not go off.
Airbag light came on and passenger airbag was disabled with an adult sitting in the seat. 2 airbag sensors and the control unit need to be replaced to make the car safe to drive with a passenger. Airbag sensors are not covered under the Nissan extended warranty despite being a critical safety issue. I have been charged $930 for parts and labors for the repair although my car is still under the extended warranty that I purchased. My car was purchased used, but has no outstanding recalls, but it is possible that this is the same sensor that should have been replaced in a prior recall.
The passenger airbag light came on a few months ago. I brought it to the Nissan dealership and was told it was a loose wire. Paid $100 on my deductible for the extended warranty. The light came back on a few weeks ago. Now when I take it in they tell me they have to replace one or two sensors each costing $1000 that is not covered up the extended warranty. There seems to be dozens of people with this same car having this same issue. I don't feel safe driving the car but I also don't want to put $2000 into a 2013 car.
Airbag light has been coming on for almost a year. Reported to dealership 3 times. First visit to dealership it was a code issue. Second time serviced it was unplugged under the seat, cost $142. 00. A week later it came on again and dealership reports the entire driver's seat airbag needs to be replace at the tune of $1900. Extended warranty doesn't cover it.
The air bag light will not go off and I cant get an inspection sticker.
No accident or any work, driver side airbag light remained on. Reset not working. Ac compressor also gives up. 150k.
I took my car to the dealer to have them see why the airbag lights stay on. The seat belts were on and they just stayed on. The driver side would sometimes go off but the passenger side stayed on even when driving the vehicle. I was told that they cleared an error code but no guarantee that it will not reoccur and that this has nothing to do with the recall on the vehicle and if it happens again I will have to come out of my pocket for $1000 or so dollars even though I a extended warranty on it that somehow doesn't cover. I feel as though the issue was not fixed the first time and they did the bare minimum and passed the rest on to the customer. I am horrified at all the stories I am reading on the internet with others having the same issues, I have around 40000 miles on my car now so you see I don't do alot of hard traveling but want to know my vehicle is safe to drive.
Driver air bag indicator light is on.
My supplemental air bag light came on 7 - 10 days ago and has remained on. Visited Nissan service on 05/17 and was told diagnostic tests revealed 3 codes indicated further work was needed. The first was to replace the diagnostic unit. Second replace OCS modules 7 both sensors. I have an extended warranty which supposedly does not include air bags. My concern is tis actually is or should be a recall. My quoted price to fix airbags/codes is greater than $1500.
The airbag light for the passenger side remains off regardless of the weight of the passenger in the seat, this has been an ongoing issue for 3 years. . Multiple trips to the dealer (at at $155. 00 per diagonstic) without a resolution. The prior the dealer stated was due to a low battery. A new battery was installed with the same results. Research on the internet shows multiple complaints with this issue. The car will not pass virginia inspection and should be deemed unsafe until there is a resolution.
The airbag light stays on all the time.
Air bag has had recalls taken care of but now has an airbag light on. Alsohdadlights are very dim when driving. New bulbs have been replaced.
My airbag light the one that says my airbags are not on keeps coming on. Have taken it to nissian dealership to get it reset for $70 but it came back on again. I am not paying $70 again. There has to to be a reason it keeps coming on.
Airbag indicator never goes off on dashboard. Airbag malfunction.
Takata recall. One recall performed, second airbag light shows on dash soon after first airbag replaced. Diagnostics on November 30 shows all electronics problems with driver side airbag. Cost estimated minimum from $651+ tax to $3427. 92+ tax. This failure is not due to misuse. It is a recall problem. See attached diagnostics and repair estimate attached. Request this be replaced under recall.
Takata recall. Brought my car into the Nissan dealership in buena park California to deal with the airbag recall. I brought my car in with the air bag light not on and after the dealership worked on the car I received my car with the light on. I explained that the light was never on that they should fix the problem. Steve let me know there's nothing they can do claiming there was a previous problem and now they are trying to charge a fee.
Air bag light on in my car don davis Nissan wont look at it before I pay 100 and this is recall problem. . Meaning I have no working air bags. . I can not drive car because its not safe. . Please help in solving this still owe 3 yrs on this car. I called and told them the problem. . No help.
Airbag light stays on even though passenger is in seat. Goes away after restarting engine.
A recall was told to me that the passenger air bag light needed to be fixed. I brought my car to the Nissan dealership for them to do this recall. Once this recall was done, my airbag light came on, on my center dashboard, roughly a month later- car was stationary. I went to Nissan to assist with this issue for it seems related to past recall that was 'fixed. ' more than myself have had this issue with the airbag dash light.
Reliable Nissan in albuquerque performed the ntb16-052 requal and immediately after repair the driver side airbag light came on and stayed on. Told this to mechanic and was charged for the repair when picking up the car. The driver side airbag always worked. Mechanic stated that cause of airbag was due to a low battery and a zero point reset had to be performed for the fix. He stated anytime on a Nissan car if the battery voltage dropped below 12v the airbag light will come on and have to be taken in for a zero point reset and a charge of $149. 49. There are several issues with this. - first is the driver side airbag on my wife's car always worked and after the recall it did not. Requal was for the passenger side airbag fix but affected the driver side airbag light to come on. - second issue was the car battery was replaced without being contact for replacement. There was no issue with the car battery as the car did not have issues starting. Asked them to put the original car battery back in which they did and car started ok. He said it was marginal. Checked the battery with my code reader and battery was 12 volts. Car has been starting okay for several weeks. The last issue which is the most important is Nissan stating if a battery on a Nissan drops below 12 volts and airbag light will come on and may not work. If this is the case this is a major safety issue as there are always going to be batteries that go low or need a charge as it is a consumable part. A customer will be charged for the fix and worse of all the airbag will not work until taken to the shop. Really. I have owned a Chevrolet and now two fords and a Nissan. Only Nissan has this issue? if a car battery is good enough to start a car but is below 12 volts the airbag will not work even with the alternator charging the battery. This is what several individuals at Nissan are telling me. Please help.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to Nissan 112 (730 medford Ave, patchogue, NY 11772, (631) 651-1987) where it was diagnosed that the battery sensor needed to be reset. The battery sensor was reset; however, the air bag warning indicator illuminated again. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the battery sensor was reset a second time; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the occupant detection system needed to be reset and the front driver's and passenger side sensors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000.
The air bag light stays on in the dash when driving and when someone sits in the passenger seat the air bag stays off so if I get into an accident none of the air bags will deploy. This happens every time I turn my vehicle on.
I took my vehicle in for a sensory recall for the passenger side airbag. Prior to this the airbag indicator light worked properly. The service department at the local Nissan dealership adjusted the sensors and since then the airbag indicator has not been working properly. I took the car back to have the service department readjust the sensors in the seat but that did not correct the problem. I have returned to the dealership several times to have the problem corrected but was told they could not see a problem. I have taken them pictures and videos showing a passenger in my car with the airbag light still on. I have contacted Nissan corporate with this problem as well. Nissan corporate has told me to take my car to the dealership when the light/airbag has not engaged when passenger is in the seat but the last incident happened at 7:30 in the evening when I was out of town. This problem has been ongoing now since 2017. I am reaching out to you because I don't know what else I can do to make my car safe for everyone that rides in it. Thank you. . . I also have a video of a passenger in the seat but can't get it to load to the document.
