The dashboard in this vehicle similar to other Nissan models that have already been recalled is cracked, sticky, shiny and glossy. It’s dangerous to have cracks in the dashboard in case of airbag deployment. The glossy shiny dashboard creates a blinding glare and is extremely dangerous while driving. It creates a glare that makes the front windshield appear black and unable to see through.

My Nissan Altima dashboard is melting and the reflection is causing glare on windshield in the sun. Salt buildup on the windshield in combination with a flash of bright sunlight suddenly caused visibility out of the windshield to be nonexistent. I caused an accident when this happen to me on the freeway, as I lost all visibility and started to swerve and slow down. I had pull to the shoulder blindly and almost died.

I was driving in the highway, and suddenly my hood flew open. I could not see I had to slow then and pull over to the side. Because of the hood coming up it cracked my windshield and the hinges damaged both sides of the front fenders. I have been trying to get an appointment for the recall at multiple Nissan service centers since January of 2022. This incident happened in December , it is now September 06 2022. I am sitting at a Nissan service center and they are telling me they are not responsible call the insurance. As I explain to the agent the insurance is not going to fix it due to the problem caused by a recall. Now the agent is telling me that I will have to make another appointment and it will be 8-9 months before they can get to it.

My hood slammed open when I was driving on the parkway. I entered the parkway ( route 28) in pittsburgh, PA during rush hour. Three to four cars entered the road seconds before me. While I attempted to gain speed to keep up with the rush hour traffic and avoid being hit by the on coming traffic my car hood slammed open. The auto body shop stated the fenders on both side need to be repaired or replaced. There may be damage to the hood, unknown until repair is performed. I had the hood latched recalled correction done to my car in late August or early September 2021. The latch is more prone to disengage after the repair. Nissan chooses not to make any repairs to my car.
While driving at 70mph on interstate the hood flew open with no known explanation as to why as hood had not been opened by anyone in the last 120 days prior to incident. This caused hood to snap back, strike and smash windshield and significantly dent roof of car in front of moonroof.
I received a recall notice in the mail today for a defective hood latch. I called bill robertson Nissan in pasco, wa to set up an appointment to get the latch replaced. I was told that they are out of the parts that are needed to fix the problem.

I parked my car, I tried to exit my automobile. The front driver side door would not open, the handle being very loose. I had to climb over the console and exit the passenger side of the auto. At 82 years of age, this maneuver was something certainly not expected. After exiting the car, I tried the driver side door from the outside, the door opened. I drove the car to the Nissan service center. The service employee said that he has seen this happen about 3 or 4 times and that it was a poorly designed this interior. He quoted me a price of $500 to $600 to fix the problem. I would hate to think of my husband who has arthritis as well as circulatory problems being in this situation. God forbid if someone had to exit the car in an emergency. I wouldn't want to think of being trapped in this vehicle if an emergency exit was warranted.
On Sunday August 29th 2021 my hood came up while I was driving and broke the front window glass and damaged both sides of the side hood due to the latch not being secured and lose and not being applied the right way.

Car was parked luckily but when door was shut the sunroof exploded like a volcano.

Many people complain about the sunroof leaking and the compressor. This will be the second time having issues with compressor. It effects my defrost which can be a serious safety hazard. Water accumulates in the floor boards and the headliner which causes mold and mildew which leads to respiratory issues. I paid 1200 to replace the compressor one year ago and not I am having the same issues. I see many people talk about this issue online. Standing water on the floor boards and air does not cool.
The rear trunk latch will not close and latch so the trunk is left wide open.

I release the hood latch and nothing happens. I happen to get out of my vehicle. My down and the hood. After several attempts, I'm about to slip my fingers into the grill and release the hood latch. If I down push down on the hood, I would just hear a click and the hood will not go up. The vehicle is stationary.
Driving on the highway and the hood flew up and busted the windsheld.
Concern: melting dashboard safety: visibility - the dashboard is very shiny and sticky, potential glare confirmation: florida recalls have already been made against 2008 and 2009 Nissan vehicles, but nothing further. Symptoms: no idea that the dashboard was melting; college student used vehicle corrective action taken: washing/cleaners do not improve or correct the issue. Also, the replacement cost and/or labor required to fix the issue is extremely limited for consumers to take on personally.
The owners and or sellers of this dangerous and life threatening vehicle that was sold to me knowing that the car was in extremely bad condition. These criminals sold me the vehicle knowing that it was not smog cleared or approved. They sold me a fatal accident waiting to o happen! they intentionally modified the odometer/mileage to 85k/95k. . . But when I ran a check on car fax, it clearly showed that this vehicle was 206,851 miles of wear and tear to engine. The break system almost killed me on the freeway and made me lose control and forcefully made me spin out of driving control for 3 full spins in the middle of the freeway, bu the grace of god, I missed all incoming traffic.

Driving down highway new york rte 104 west in webster NY at 60mph. The hood lifted and slammed the roof of the car. I was able to see between the dash and just under the hood and was able to safely move off to the side of the road. I was able to re-latch the hood and return home. The image attached is the frame from my dashcam. You can see the entire video here. Https://youtu. Be/c7zuw9ze-z0.
There is still no remedy for the recall of the secondary latch for the hood. I have been driving and the hood has become unlatched. This is unsafe and a driving hazard. A remedy needs to be fixed ASAP or someone may get hurt. I think it's irresponsible that Nissan has not completed this remedy.

The secondary hood latch recall has been outstanding without a remedy fix for to long. It came out may of 2020. In 4 months it will be a year. I'm not able to do my second jobs with the outstanding recall. This needs to be fixed ASAP. Nissan needs to provide customer with a loaner until something is done because it's a safety issue and I don't want the hood flying up.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving 60 mph, the vehicle began shaking uncontrollably. The vehicle was taken to woodhouse Nissan (7801 nebraska dr, bellevue, ne 68005) where she was informed that the vehicle was safe and that the turbulence was probably from ice on the road. Two days later her daughter was driving 30 mph, she heard an abnormal popping sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle started to lose control of the steering wheel. Her daughter drove the vehicle to her sister's house and upon inspection, she discovered that the driver's side rear tire was turned inwards to the body of the vehicle. The contact's daughter had a friend inspect the vehicle who discovered major corrosion on the driver's side rear control arm. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer who then diagnosed the vehicle with a defective rear control arm and eccentric bolts that needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed her that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.
I was driving down the road and my hood flew open and hit my windshield very hard. I was unable to see due to hood flying up and almost caused me to crash. It damaged my side fenders due to impact. I was going about 20mph on a side road in gahanna OH. It happened on 12/28/2020. I was never notified of open recalls via mail nor email. I am highly upset at the fact it could have harmed me or someone else. I would like to be contacted regarding this matter as soon as possible.
Unable to securely close the hood as primary latch will not stay engaged. Followed the procedure on the recall notice, but whenever driving on a road imperfection hood pops up to secondary position. We do not trust the vehicle at highway speeds.
1)extremely dim headlight assembly in motion and stationary. Dangerously dim and has steadily gotten worse over 2 years even after light bulbs have been replaced. Both headlight assembly are issue. 2)hood will not close and latch properly as of today 12-14-2020 following stationary routine opening of hood. Vehicle was stationary. Recall replacement for latch has not been provided by maker as of this date. Recall was in may 2020.
