1) frontal passenger air bag. It always says off, even when there's a passenger. I'm not sure whether this is a takata inflator. (this occurs every time all the time when the engine is running, wether idleing, drive, neutral and reverse) 2) headlights. The headlights (both) continually get dimmer and dimmer until you are unable to see causing a very dangerous situation. (this occurs every time all the time when the engine is running, wether idleing, drive, neutral and reverse)I have had or changed my light bulb(s) at least (6) times in the 16 months I have had the vehicle. I have been stopped by law inforcement several times and a livery driver I have had customer complaints.
Takata inflator. I received a letter from a Nissan dealer about 2 months ago. It stated that I should bring in my vehicle to replace the passenger air. When I called to make an appointment I was informed that I would be called by the dealer when the they receive the air bag from the manufacturer. I have not heard from the dealer. When I checked NHTSA website, it did not show my vehicle as a recalled vehicle. I am confused. Is the dealer being honest. Previously, the dealer had requested that I bring in my vehicle. The dealer stated that the indicator light on the passenger air bag was not functioning properly. The dealer also stated that the repair was completed. On another occasion I was also told to bring in my vehicle for a transmission problem. The dealer also stated that the repair was properly completed. What action can I take in reference to the most recent request to replace the air bag? the date I received is approximate.

Takata inflators I was driving down the road and the air bag light came on the dash. I took it to the dealership and he said it was the passenger air bag. He said there was no recall. I just seen were newer models have recalls on them. I was wondering why my model doesn't.

Takata inflators: one of my vehicles (the other is a 2013 Ford fusion VIN 3fa6p0hr1dr243661), was issued a recall notice regarding the takata inflators. I was informed repeatedly that parts were not available and I would be informed when they were in stock. I do not have the original documentation regarding this recall and cannot recall which of my vehicles was pinpointed, the inflators have not been changed on either of my vehicles, but mysteriously, neither shows up on the takata recall list. Can you tell me how or why this should be the case? I feel that something has "slipped thru the cracks".
2003 Nissan Altima. Consumer expresses concern that other 2003 Nissan Altima vehicles were not identified or included in campaigns related to the airbag/driver control module, airbag sensor and the crankshaft position sensor
the consumer stated her vehicle was serviced at the dealer due to the continuous flashing of the air bag light. The dealer informed the consumer the air bag sensor was defective. As a result, the entire unit needed to be replaced. The consumer stated her vehicle was excluded from the air bag recall even though the vehicle was manufactured in 2002. On January 15, 2010 the vehicle began displaying problems such as difficulty cranking, sudden jerks while accelerating and loss of power. On January 16, 2010 the service engine light later illuminated. Testing revealed a defective crankshaft sensor. Also, the O2 sensor and catalytic converter had to be replaced.

I was pulling into a parking space in front of the building where I work. I had my foot on the brake and the car accelerated and went over the curb, it accelerated a second time and sped between two trees, then between a tree and building and ended up facing the opposite direction of the parking spot on the sidewalk in front of the building. The car basically did a full "u" from the parking spot to the sidewalk. My feeling is that I had the wheel turned to the right to park in the parking spot and did not have time to straighten the steering wheel so the car continued to go to the right, hence the "u". The driver side air bags went off. I had on several occasions experienced the car hesitating when I would accelerate after stopping at a stop sign or light. The car would hesitate and then resume at a normal speed. Once the car resumed speed, the car seemed fine.
Purchased a 2008 Nissan altma sept 17,2007. The passenger air bag light does not always go off while a passenger is seated and riding in the auto. When the light is on the air bag will not inflate. When my wife is riding in the passenger side and the air bag light is on, her life is in danger.

My 2002 Nissan Altima vehicle was taken in for service at bob bell Chevrolet Nissan, 7900 eastern avenue, baltimore, maryland, 21224, on Thursday, August 2, 2007. It was brought in for servicing of all the vehicles' recalls, a soft grinding noise that could be heard when turning the steering wheel and low freon levels for air conditioning. On Friday afternoon, August 3, 2007 around 5pm, I was contacted by the service department and strongly advised to pick up the vehicle before the service division closed at 6pm. The dealership stated that all recalls and issues had been resolved and completed. I picked the vehicle up around 5:45pm and proceeded to travel home. After only fifteen minutes, the vehicle engine started to smoke profusely. The engine started shaking harder and harder and a loud rattling noise could be heard from within the engine. The teenage passenger in the vehicle began to vomit and her eyes started swelling due to the volume of fumes expelled from the cars engine through the ventilation and into the car. I immediately pulled over (3700 eastern blvd. ) and rushed to get her out of the seat where she continued to vomit once outside the vehicle. The dealership now denies ever seeing smoke from the engine (see attach. ), as well as, denied causing damage to my car that potentially resulted in the engine smoking. The vehicle was picked up on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 with the engine rattling uncontrollably even after being returned a second time to the dealership. The vehicle cut off while attempting to DE-accelerate at a red light the following day. Uncertainty surrounds whether the vehicle will cut off again while DE-accelerating proving it hazardous to drive, whether the vehicles five recalls where all properly addressed, and if the engine will start smoking again.
