I have had issues with the very bad low beam lighting at night. Its so terrible that its like having no lights on at all and riding with them on constant high beams has resulted in me being pulled over on numerous occasions by police but its also unsafe to all other drivers I pass. The low beams were why I had an accident in Nov of 2023. That resulted in me going down an embankment hitting a tree head on. From that accident I also learned the air bags were faulty bc they did not deploy either. I was only injured with a few scrapes, bruises and alot of soreness but it could have been so much worse. I have the photos from that wreck that shows the damage but also how the air bags didnt deploy as well. I plan to look into what other actions I can take against Nissan since they know these are issues and have not fixed them. My car was manufactured in October of 2015. I was making a right hand turn when this occured bc I could not see bc of the low beam lights. I was only going maybe 5 mph. 10 mph tops. Please contact me with questions.

This happened on Saturday April 03, 2021. I had an accident with Nissan Altima 2005. I was driving about 55 miles per hour on a highway here in madison wisconsin, where all the sudden a road construction truck coming from the work area (center of the highway) tried to snick and crossed without looking at the upcoming traffic. Then, I tried to brake, but no way to prevent the crash from happening, so I hit that truck from his passenger side. After the "t", my airbags did not deploy, so I have been severely injured that the ambulance took me to uw hospital for emergency care. Therefore, I got exposed to the danger because my airbags did not deploy and protect me. So, the airbags were working in my car.

I have a 2016 Nissan Altima. First: I was involved in an accident in which a regular truck hauling an enclosed trailer drove over a large piece of plywood on the interstate at 70mph in front of me (also going about 70 mph) causing the piece of plywood to raise off of the road after he cleared it and it flew into the front of my vehicle and bounced up onto the hood and then hit the roof before flying off of my car. During this process, pieces of the plywood became stuck in the grill area of my car. There were no injuries, thankfully, but I am concerned the airbags did not deploy. Second: I've had this car since July of 2019. Over the past 6 months I have noticed that when I press the gas, the rpms rise but the transmission takes a bit to shift into gear causing a lag in acceleration. I have also noticed that if I am at a light or a stop and shift into drive sport, it doesn't do this. I have gotten in the habit of shifting into the sport mode when accelerating from a stop sign or red light. Third: my daughter was hit today by a truck crossing lanes to turn in front of her. She was traveling at appx 35 mph. The truck hit my passenger side front area, destroying my headlight, bumper, and grill. It was hit hard and the airbags did not deploy. The seatbelt did not lock, causing her to bounce forward and smack her head on the steering wheel. I am concerned now about the seatbelts and airbags and am more worried that they are defective after reading other complaints about these same issues. I love my car, but it doesn't seem to be very safe at all.

The system that determines whether the passenger airbag will deploy on my vehicle is not functioning and is defaulting the airbag to not deploy. I took the vehicle to my dealer for a quote and was told it will cost up to $1,800. 00 to fix. I know there has been at least one recall pertaining to this system already (recall number 15v681000). I also asked if there was a way to have the airbag always set to deploy but was told that was not possible. An $1,800. 00 fix for a critical safety feature is a hazard that will drive people to accept undue risk. A recall for affected Nissan vehicles to replace the system or which would default the airbags to deploy would mitigate the risk to the population.

Passenger airbag light indicator & passenger airbag on/off indicator remains on even when a passenger is seated in the front seat. I think this is a safety issue because the airbag will not deploy from an impact as needed. Request any assistance with this related safety issue. Thank you.
Tl- the contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated he was coming to a stop to make a left turn, when another vehicle t- boned him on the passenger side. The air bags did not deploy. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact sustained injuries on his lower back and right knee and had received physical therapy and still seeking medical assistance to see if needing a surgery for a sciatic nerve. The contact stated his son who was sitting on passenger rear side, also sustained injuries on his ribs and back and had received medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not drivable. The vehicle was towed to impound lot. The vehicle was totaled. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 44,000. Dp.
Airbags did not deploy when I was in a car accident at 45 mph. The radio goes crazy and turns up wide open while no one touches the controls.
Airbag light flashes when car is on whether stationary or in motion. Was told its the sensor in the passenger seat cushion and the whole cushion has to be replaced. Airbag will not deploy and is a safety issue if not fixed ASAP. Very frustrating. . . At a cost over $1000. 00.

I bought this car as an used vehicle. The carfax report showed a minor incident on the front, but air bags did not deploy. There is an air bag warning light on the dashboard which continues to glow when I run the vehicle. I asked my service advisor in "Nissan of omaha" to look into the issue. He replied the airbag module has to be replaced completely and it would cost me $2300. I doubt if this is something to do with the manufacturing defect and the service dealer is trying to charge me for the defective part.
In an accident going 60mph got hit on drivers side and front and airbags did not deploy when they should have. Had a mechanic look at it and said the airbags must be hung up because they should have deployed and should deploy anytime you are hit going over 25mph.
Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at 35 mph, the contact crashed into another vehicle. Upon collision, the contact's air bags did not deploy. The contact stated that he sustained an upper back, vertebrae, and a shoulder injury. The whereabouts of the other driver were unknown. The police were called and a report was filed. The vehicle was towed away from the scene and was totaled at a tow yard. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed him that the air bags do not always deploy upon impact. They offered no further assistance in the matter. The failure mileage was unknown. Jo.

I was told the vehicle has not been in a crash, yet discovered the airbag light was on upon further inspection (after purchase). I know similar model years had airbag recalls. I have been told that if I were to crash the srs system and the airbags would not deploy. How can a dealer sell you a vehicle that isn't safe to operate? I just want to ensure there isn't a known problem before I spend hundreds of dollars just to ensure the safety of operating my vehicle; even though it should have came that way. Also, intermittently the seatbelt light will come on even when I am buckled up.
My air bag light stays on in my dash. Went to my local dealer to find out an old code b0020-13 was detected. They found everything to be fine, so they reset the code. The air bag light came back on two days later, and the same code came on again. They recommended a replacement of the side air bag module under the driver seat to repair the concern. They want to charge me $1600 for parts and labor, and what's worse, the sop part is on back order with no eta. So I asked the dealer what I am supposed to do, and if the car is safe to drive? he suggested that I shouldn't drive the car, but the part is not readily available any where in the united states? what kind of garbage is that? they offered me no solution to my problem, and I don't have another car to drive, and they can't even tell me when the part will become available???? does this mean that this problem is a problem all across the country, because why don't they have the part available? this is a safety issue!!!! if I were to get in a accident, then the side air bag would not deploy!!.
Not sure if it includes takata recall. My 2016 Nissan Altima was in a accident on June 19th 2019 the car went to a fence a palm tree and a structure of the house inside of the house and no airbags deployed. And the first time buyer I am married with a child and thank god my child was not in the car because no airbags deployed car seat is deemed unusable and the stroller as well that was in the trunk due to the accident the car was totaled. The insurance the tow companies the police deemed it a total loss and we're shocked that we were alive and walking due to no deployment of airbags car swerved and went into a house. I suffer from headaches and neck and neck injury and at the massage parlors getting massage out three to four times a week. I'm just add an oz because the airbags none of the airbags deployed none and it went through a house again this was my first car I only had it two months so buying it from a dealership you would think that there would be no recalls on this vehicle or they would have took care of the recalls now I'm out on vehicle not because of the airbags but due to the accident and also I'm in pain which is do I believe to the airbags not deploying.
I had an accident on the highway and obtained severe frontal damage totaling over 5000. 00 and the airbags did not deploy at all, I purchased the vehicle 0n the 30th of may 2019.
The vehicle was involved in a hit and run and airbags did not deploy.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated. The contact was concerned that the air bags might not deploy in the event of a crash. The vehicle was taken to hyman bros Nissan (located at 11841 midlothian turnpike, midlothian, va 23113, (804) 378-3000) where a diagnostic test showed that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v244000 (air bags). The recall repair was performed, but the air bag indicator remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and they reset the failure code. Each time the contact took the vehicle back to hyman bros Nissan, a different failure code was found and the failure continued. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and provided case number: 34347366. The approximate failure mileage was 62,861.
We have received several recall notices involving our Nissan Altima 2013 involving the takata airbags. The recalls have not consisted of anything significant. Throughout the process of these recalls (I believe 2 or 3) our airbag light on dashboard as well as on the center console has intermittently come on and off. We have taken our Nissan to a local Nissan approved dealer for all of our reviews/repairs. Approximately 6 months ago we again took our vehicle and the dealership indicated the light was on due to our car battery being low. This was not the case. My husband used a reader and the car's battery was perfectly fine. Just recently on Tuesday we again took our car in because the airbag light has not turned off. They have indicated that our side airbag is not working, therefore all of the airbags are off and not properly working. The estimated repair for this is $1500 (not including tax). This issue with airbags has been an ongoing issue. Nissan has not made any efforts to fix this problem other than a band-aid recall. The airbags have never been deployed. Finally, I received a class action notification that this vehicle is listed as a eligible member of this class action. . Read more...

I was driving when a man ran the stop sign and plowed into the side of my car. I could see that he was not going to stop so I swerved and started braking in order to miss him. I had no were to go because there was a guard rail on my drivers side and people sitting at the stop sign that I almost hit head on trying to avoid this guy. He hit me so hard that it broke the passenger side front tire and it totaled my car. But the airbag did not deploy causing me to get tossed and bruised up even though I was wearing my seat belt. There is a problem with the air bags in this vehicle. I do have a police report and an attorney concerning this matter. If you need more information please contact me by email.
Within the last month (October 2018) my airbag indicator light on the dashboard has come on and stays on constantly. This indicates that the airbag may not deploy in a crash, and could possibly mean the difference between life and death. The light came on with no warning, the vehicle has not been in an accident of any kind. This has to be a malfunction.
My "vehicle was previously recalled to reprogram front passenger occupant classification system (OCS) electronic control unit (ecu). " I took my car in for the recall to have it taken care of, but now I'm still having issues with the OCS. Currently, the driver side airbag light is on, indicating that it is not functioning properly. In addition, while the car was in motion and I was sitting in the passenger seat, the passenger side airbag light was lit up. This indicated that the airbag was off, despite the fact that I was sitting in it. After taking the car into the dealership, I was informed that I needed a new OCS control unit as well as two OCS sensors. I informed them of the previous recall on the OCS; however, they said this was a separate issue, so I was going to have to pay around $700. Nissan originally said in a letter that, "if at any time within the next 15 years, the OCS system in your vehicle does not perform as described above, we urge you to please schedule an appointment at your nearest Nissan dealer. The dealer can check the OCS system in your vehicle and, if needed, perform a one-time retrofit to the OCS system free of charge. " since the OCS is still having issues after the original recall, I thought it was imperative to report this huge safety issue. I was informed that the airbags might not deploy if I were in a car accident, which could cause unnecessary injuries or even death. Clearly there are still unresolved issues with the OCS that need attention.
Tl- the contact owned a 2008 Nissan Altima, the contact stated that while she was attempting to exit a driveway she became distracted and hit an oak tree at aproximatly 30mph the airbags did not deploy the contact sustained several injuries that required medcial attention the contact was transported to the hosital by ambulance. The vehicle was towed and deemed a total loss by the insurance comapany. A police report was filed . The manufacuter was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 109,000. Ep.
Airbag light is on solid on dashboard symbol located in the middle shows airbag off on passenger side I was told my VIN is not listed on the recall list. This is a safety issue and needs to be resolved. Not after the fact if air bag may or may not deploy. I should not be charge for a diagnostic. When make, model and year has been recalled already.
The contact owned a 2016 Nissan Altima. While driving 55 mph, the contact struck a deer. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. The contact's spouse sustained bruises and the contact's daughter, seated in the rear passenger seat, sustained burns from the seat belt. Medical attention was not required. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 41,357.
My airbag sensor light is on and will not go off. This didn't occur until several months after, I had the passenger sensor light airbag detector worked on. With all the factory recall, I feel as if this need to be checked into. I would hate to have an accident and the airbags do not deploy if needed. My brother-in-law is a certified mechanic and he have repaired or towed several Nissan Altima that the airbag did not deploy during an accident,.

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. While driving 35-40 mph, the contact looked down and, by the time he looked back up, he was rear ending the preceding vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. The police were called to the scene and a report was filed. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to pugmire Lincoln of marietta (1865 cobb pkwy s, marietta, GA 30060) where the dealer informed the contact that it would be a couple of days to determine if the vehicle was a total loss or if it could be repaired. Prior to the crash, the contact noticed that the passenger side air bag indicator was illuminated at all times, even when the passenger seat was occupied. There were no recalls associated with the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 95,563.
