Hi, I am an owner of a Nissan Altima 2013 s vehicle. Recently I noticed that airbag light came on and I took it to the dealership. Dealership diagnosed with b0028-13 and said it was a past code and cleared the code. It came back on again while I was driving after a month. I again diagnosed and the same code and showing a past code. Dealer couldn't identify the problem and said it needs to replace the whole seat, which will cost 1800 dollars. They said the airbag control module for the passenger side needs to be changed. And I noticed one thing, after code is getting cleared, the airbag warning light doesn't come all of a suddenly, although it has some problem with passenger occupancy too, as sometime even if an adult sit in the front passenger seat, passenger airbag stays off. Which is very risky while driving. Nissan has no answer to that. And right after that, airbag warning light comes back. I am a student and don't have that much of money to get this costly repair ( seat replacement) done and is a big safety issue. Please help me in this matter.
There was a recall on 2013 to 2016 on supplemental airbag warning lights, which came out in 2017,however they never fixed the 2017 models that were already out under the new recall. The supplumential warning g light stays on, and the nissian will charge $2000 to fix.

Had one recall for the passenger air bag always being lit. Had it fixed now the drivers air bag warning light (red) and the passengers (yellow in dash) lights are always on.
The passenger airbag dah light indicated that the airbag was "off" while an adult was occupying the passenger seat. I took the vehicle to a Nissan dealership who determined that 2 airbag modules were deflective, not working and needed to be replaced at my expense. I contacted Nissan USA, franklin, TN and explained the problem. Consumer affairs department said there was not a campaign or recall for this problem but would look in to it for a possible "goodwill" coverage. After contacting the dealership that inspected the car, Nissan offered to cover 60% of the cost. This may a good "goodwill" gesture, but I can only imagine the possible catastrophic bodily injury that could have occurred in an accident if I hadn't noticed this problem. These are not moving parts. I find it hard to believe that there is no warning light or indicator for this failure. How many other Altimas could be affected by this problem?10/27/2019.
While driving back from vacation on the highway the icon for supplemental air bag warning light came on and did not go off as expected. The manual says that when this happens I should go to the nearest Nissan dealer for assistance. I looked up my car and found that you did a very abbreviated recall for my type car . Does that mean you are not repairing 2015 Altimas for air bag defects? I can text a picture of the icon that does not go away when the car is started as it should. Am I in danger of an air bag malfunction? I can text you the icon that is bright red all the time when the car is started.

The airbag warning light is flashing indicating there is a problem with the airbag system. A scan of the vehicle shows a problem with the occupant sensor which is the sensor in the passenger seat. This is a problem with almost every year of Nissan Altima and there are multiple recalls for this problem but Nissan said this vehicle is not included in the recalls. This is ridiculous when they obviously have had continuing problems with this part.
