1 Horn Assembly problem of the 2013 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 12/05/2018

After purchasing this vehicle brand new, first owner in September 2013, 4 months later the left fog light went out did not think anything of it. Two months later the right head light went out. Thought it was weird but did not stress myself about it. A year later the right rear light only works when you tap it. Now I am driving all the lights are out from the car. No brake lights no park lights no lights. Took my vehicle to tire kingdom to change bulbs only to find out the new bulbs are not working either and the vehicle has a n electrical problem. Never did understand why drivers behind me would honk their horns at me or be flashing me with their high beam lights. Nissan needs to fix this issue as well as their air conditioning problem. The vehicle only gets cool when the vehicle is in motion. You cannot have the a/c on when being stationary the a/c only produces heat during that time.

3 Horn Assembly problem of the 2009 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 01/11/2017

Steering lock defective, known problem by Nissan since 2009, refused to recall the cars involved. I just spent $923. 00 to fix my '09 with 91k miles on it. Car left me stranded in a safe spot, fortunately. After I parked, walked away for a few minutes, tried to restart, nothiing but the two key lights in the dash, horn, overhead lights and alarm. Steering wheel would not lock. This needs to be an active recall and owners reimbursed for the work involved!!!.

4 Horn Assembly problem of the 2009 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 07/06/2016

Issue: unintended acceleration conditions: 2pm/clear/parking lot while making u-turn to the right, brakes did not respond. Stepped again on brakes, more firmly, but did not slow car which continued to roll slowly forward about 7 mph. Suddenly, loud revving, car continued forward roll. Immediately, added left foot to brake, pressing with full weight. No response. About 2-3 second after revving/hard braking, the car opened full throttle and hurtled forward about 1-1/2 to 2 car lengths; slammed into wall. Airbag did not deploy my car had only 25290 miles (only about two years of normal usage) at the time the system failed. My left knee sustained small gash from the underside of the steering column when I was slammed back after impact threw me forward, forehead knocked the upper steering wheel. Note: about 1 month prior to accident, the audio controls on my steering wheel honked the horn instead. The next day, they were ok. The same thing happened when tested at the collision center after accident; it's on tape. The rep at the collision center was informed of the switch problem from the start. When I them tested days later, the audio controls worked properly. Also, an indicator on the dash went from showing the mpg with a bar as I accelerated or slowed, then switched to a digital report of 18 mpg/city. It kept shifting between these indicators without my interference. Finally, the airbag failed to deploy although impact clearly exceeded 15 mph. I believe there was a severe failure of the electrical system; the cvt system with its sensors, etc. Is dependent on it. My account parallels reports I have uncovered about sudden acceleration. I noted that often an event was precipitated by a slowing, and a turn. When I recently talked to a Nissan tech about the switches, airbag, indicator failures, he mentioned pinched harness could be a possibility.

5 Horn Assembly problem of the 2006 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 06/06/2015

My car engine shut off periodically while being drive at low speeds and higher oil consumption. The first time occurred on June 6, 2015 while driving across woodyard road to pine view lane from the clinton shopping center. The second time was on Friday June 12, 2015 while driving home from the branch Ave metro parking, with my brother on the way home, while turning off from highway 5 on to surratt’s road, leaving my brother and I dangerously stuck the right side of the off curve with cars going by blowing their horns. The Altima does start back up, but only after a minute or two. No apparent reason why, no warning lights. The car has been consuming more oil than usual and after the first incident, the service engine light came on and does not shut off. A search for recalls revealed in fact that there was a recall issued, 06v-223 on the 2006 Altima, but was not notified or the recall addressed.

6 Horn Assembly problem of the 2009 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 02/16/2015

After moving my car to shovel snow, I parked it. I came out 2 hours later and the car would not start. Electronic key worked, interior lights worked, horn worked, alarm worked but it would not start. I pressed the start button and nothing. We tried to jump start it thinking the battery might be a little weak but nothing!!! now after 2 days of research and missed work the problem is in the lock steering column. I now have to tow the car to the dealership and god knows how much this will cost me. Thank heaven the car just didn't die while I was driving it! the car isn't even paid off yet and has only 40,000 miles. . . I hope your agency will do something for all the people out there like myself, that pay good hard earned money for something, only to buy a defective piece of junk. If it was only me, I'd suck it up and move on but its hundreds of us and if other Altima owners aren't complaing now, don't worry they will!!!.

7 Horn Assembly problem of the 2009 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 01/04/2014

Drove my car early this am with no problem. When I returned about 3 hours later it would not start. The brake was very hard. The interior lights works, horn, and headlights. However only the key fob indicator and push brake indicator lights in dash. Dealer said it was a bad fob. I had it towed to Nissan and the fob was not bad. Now they say it's the main computer. They will not be able to do any more research until Monday. I am seeing a lot of this same problem in here. I am very nervous.

9 Horn Assembly problem of the 2013 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 03/28/2013

I was driving a brand-new, Nissan Altima rental car on a business trip. After I returned to my hotel one afternoon, I forgot to turn the engine off. This vehicle has a key fob and a "start/stop" button only. There is no metal key. After I exited the vehicle, I noticed that the horn did not honk when I locked the vehicle with the key fob. The trunk release did not automatically open when I used the key fob. I manually pressed a button under the trunk lid to retrieve my bag. The next morning, I noticed steam and water coming out of the exhaust tailpipes. (it was app. 34 degrees that morning. ) I discovered that the engine was still running, and the car used app. 3/8s of a tank of gasoline overnight. My concern is that a car like this could be driven into a garage with the engine left on, and then the occupants of the residence could get carbon monoxide poisoning from the exhaust fumes. This vehicle needs some time of warning bell, chime, etc. To remind the driver that the engine is still running if they open the driver's side door and/or exit the vehicle. Thank-you.
