Dear Nissan service: I am the owner of a 2006 Nissan Frontier se with approximately 124,000 miles. The vehicle was purchased used from nalley Nissan in 2012 with approximately 89,000 miles on it. The history of the vehicle was meticulous, minus that the catalytic converter had been replaced by nalley Nissan. In February 04, 2016 I had the left catalytic converter replaced at nalley Nissan. The right catalytic converter was replaced prior to purchasing the vehicle. My vehicle has already had both catalytic converters replaced. On may 11, 2018 I was advised that I need both of my catalytic converters replaced again at stone mountain Nissan. My check engine light had came on agaiinhowever, both of the catalytic converters have been previously replaced. It should be noted that this in not an inexpensive repair. I only used premium gasoline in my vehicle to ensure its proper performance and get my vehicle regularly maintained an Nissan dealerships. It is rather obvious that there is something else going on with my vehicle that is defective in nature. I had read that this is a common problems with Nissan Frontiers and Nissan altimas. I do not want to get the catalytic converts replaced at at estimated $2200 and have this problem resurface again. In georgia, we have annual emissions tests and my vehicle will not pass an emissions test. Just recently, I had taken my vehicle on a short trip to north georgia. The engine stalled and completely lost power. I was able to get the vehicle home however, it is rather evident that something is mechnically wrong with my vehicle and just simply replacing the catalytic converters will not ensure that this problem will happen again. The automatic transmission would not change gear properly. It is slow in changing gear and the "check engine light" blinks.

The check engine light came on while starting the truck. It was place on the diagnostic machine and the result was that a sensor in the gas tank was not working. I received a recall notice one week after the warranty had expired. The notice stated that the warranty would take care of the problem. I emailed Nissan to complain and never heard from them.

At 7600 miles I hear a noise on the engine and check engine lights came on and gas gauge star reading empty went was full I took to the dealer they told me the noise was coming from some where in the engine they never told me was timing,chain,I took to a local repair shop and they found out that timing chain was the problem ,the check engine light at the dealer told me the was the that the reason for the gas tank read empty was t due a gas module.

I purchased the vehicle in 2007 with 40,000 miles on it. It has been shimmying on the highway since I hit 60,000 miles and in spite of having my tires re-aligned and balanced, it still continues to rock back and forth at speeds over 50 miles an hour. I just hit my 100,000 mile mark on the first of October. On October 18th, I was at my son's daycare and the truck started idling strangely. The truck was puttering and exhausting black smoke. It died in the parking lot and I tried numerous times to get it started. It took about 20 minutes of trying but I got it running again, only to have it die on me in traffic. Once again, I got it started and managed to get it home where it completely died. When I was able to get it to the dealership (after a local mechanic looked at it and couldn't get it started) the dealership told me I had an engine idle air control sensor that was recalled by Nissan. I never received the recall notice but was relieved that my bill was covered. Less than a week after the sensor had been replaced, the check engine light came on. I brought it back to the dealership and they told me my catalytic converters had burned out. From what I have been able to research online, the failure of my catalytic converters is directly related to an out of tune engine (too much air or fuel) which was caused by the sensor being defective. Nissan doesn't see it that way and now I'm stuck with a $3500 repair bill on a truck I still owe money on and have owned for less than four years.

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that on March 27, 2010, after filling the fuel tank, the fuel gauge still registered empty and the check engine light illuminated. About 75 miles later, the fuel gauge began to function properly and the check engine turned off. The contact referenced recall 10v075000 (fuel system, gasoline: storage:auxillary tank) that believed to be directly related to the failure. The current mileage was 80,266. Updated 07/01/10 the consumer stated the problem was resolved and he was reimbursed. However, the timing chain had to be replaced.
