The contact owns a 2002 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that the exhaust manifold was fractured and sending co2 through the vents while driving 25 mph and above. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and the dealer replaced the passenger side exhaust manifold. After the repairs, the driver side exhaust manifold fractured and the contact took the vehicle back to the dealer. The dealer advised that it was common for the manifold to fracture in the particular year, make and model. The contact did not replace the driver side exhaust manifold. My complaint is in regards to "mfg bulletin number: ntb01038", which is very specific in identifying the "right hand exhaust manifold cracking". If this technical bulletin is so specific, would that imply that there is a know defect with the manifold, and if so, shouldn't there be a recall for all owners so the defective manifold can be replaced at the manufacture's expense?!?!? if a number of owners have had the same part malfunction to the point where the manufacturer had to publish a "detailed technical bulletin", I would think that this malfunction is much more common and should be addressed as a recall.
Exhaust manafold leak/crack. Took it to a mechanic, he stated cracks exhaust manafolds were common, and he has fixed several. I am concerned that that that exhaust gas may leak into the passenger compartment.
Exhaust manifold has cracked due to manifold is made of one type of metal, and engine block is another type. These two metals heat/cool at different rates causing undue stress on manifold. As a result the manifold has cracked, allowing toxic fumes to enter vehicle passenger compartment.
While driving exhaust manifold/catalytic converter assembly failed. Contacted the dearler. However, the dealer will not cooperate with the consumer.
