1 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2002 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 03/02/2020

Seat belt light on the dash turned on and continued flashing. The diagnosis read on it was tensioner on system restraint. Sensor was replaced but the srs light continued to flash and now has locked my seat belts. Driver's seat belt will not release so I have been having to drive without a seat belt. All wiring on sensors on the seat belt and under the seat have been checked and are fine so there must be a faulty sensor someplace or an electrical issue causing the seat belt to lock in place.

4 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 06/20/2019

Apparently my vehicle is not covered by the below campaign when in fact it's exhibiting the behavior explained on the recall. I called the dealer in sunnyvale CA and they confirmed that is not covered. Nissan should take responsibility for the faulty airbag sensor across the board not just in some states! NHTSA campaign 08v690000 report date: Dec 18, 2008 vehicles affected: 242720.

5 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 02/06/2019

Continues airbag problems. From the satellite airbag sensors being rusty and water intrusion to the occupant air bag sensor. I have also had continuous misfires that have caused the catalytic converter on bank 1 to fail.

6 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2015 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 11/16/2018

Dashboard airbag sensor light began flashing randomly in November 2018. When front passenger was present. I scheduled service with dealer per manual and technician cleared code. Airbag sensor went off yesterday 2/16/19 same issue when front passenger was seated again. Dealer stated issue not covered by warranty. They said it was a $1000 fix???? I my humble opinion this is a catastrophe safety concern and asking consumer to fix is absurd and shameful.

7 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 09/01/2017

The airbag sensor began flashing when driving on a highway and the error code is for the passenger seatbelt. The non-dealer mechanic was not able to repair and the airbags are deactivated. The engine control module failed when the vehicle was in motion on a city street. The ecm is not available from Nissan or after market for this 10 year old vehicle. The ecm cannot be rebuilt. Thus, this low mileage vehicle in otherwise excellent condition is now junk. Nissan has failed to provide expected vehicle reliability and consumer protections. Apparently, Nissan ceased manufacture (including after market) of this critical engine component soon after initial sale without making any provisions for replacement upon failure. I am told that this is a standard business practice for Nissan.

8 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2008 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 06/08/2017

Ref recall 08v690000. Why would our truck not be part of this recall?. We live in an area which is surrounded by ocean so salt corrosion is common. I know several others that have similar issue not only Frontiers. I understand the front crash sensor corrosion is common. Please do something about this before someone gets hurt due to airbags or deploying due to this common sensor issue.

9 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2005 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 07/29/2016

The front crash zone sensor (czs) failed due to rust and must be replaced. The is described exactly in the NHTSA campaign number 08v69000. Nissan claims that no recall has been issued for this problem. Why not?.

10 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2013 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 07/18/2016

The vehicle was in motion on the highway and also turning. Yaw rate sensor malfunctioning. I took to the dealer and was quoted 800. 00 for sensor excluding labor. Im in m. S. . . I live in t. N. I was advised it wasnt safer on interstate travel. This vehicle is only 3 yrs old. At this point it is considered my safety. I think Nissan should stand behind there product.

11 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2006 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 04/04/2014

Passenger seat belt light flashes on, dealer says connected to computer under passenger seat (reset several times), light still flashes, dealership service says problem with seat sensor and not sure if air bag on passenger side will work or defective (want $800 to $3,000 to diagnose-fix-replace), Nissan corporate refuses to fix (says out of warranty), technician unable to say if air bag will deploy in an accident, service manager I deal with told me she had seen at least 10 similar problems with similar vehicles (x 8 service writers means at that dealership alone they have had at least 80 complaints in a month of the same nature x all dealerships??), Nissan corporate sent me a $250 gift card for other services at the dealership but refuses to acknowledge or address or attempt to fix a problem they admit they know they have (and I am only referring to Nissan Frontiers - not all other Nissan vehicles). May be a problem with the air bag or a problem with the computer or a problem with the seat sensor or an electrical issue.

13 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 01/03/2013

Letter on behalf of constituent requesting assistance in getting the airbag sensor (which was recalled) repaired on his 2007 Nissan Frontier; reply to attn: josiah manzo/orlando office. The consumer stated Nissan refused to fix the air bags on his vehicle, even though the vehicle was recalled. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer on January 3, 2013. The service advisor informed him, the air bag module had failed internally and the repair estimate was $ 945. 35. The dealer refused repair, because the consumer did not have the vehicle serviced there.

14 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2008 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 10/31/2012

The local Nissan dealership diagnosed an airbag flashing light on the dash as a faulty seat belt retractor at about 33,000 miles and took corrective action. They insisted that the problem was fixed and said that it is now covered under parts warranty. Over the next 15,000 to 20,000 miles the fixed it two more times as a seat belt retractor, however the last time the light began to blink I took the vehicle and they gave me a new cause of the light. I was then told it was the passenger seat air bag sensor and that it was faulty and that it would cost me 1200 dollars to fix. I know that Nissan has recent problems with air bags and in the past there has been a recall on the east coast concerning Frontier airbags. I would guess that Nissan corp. Has larger issue with air bags and has been covering their tracks for years. I know I can't afford the $1200 repair bill to fix the problem and that now I am reluctant to have a passenger in the seat. I doubt that your agency will have a remedy for this problem, as I have little faith in an agency of government taking on a corporation as large as Nissan.

15 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2005 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 04/18/2011

My airbag system had been disabled in my 2005 Nissan Frontier due to a bad passenger airbag sensor. The repare will be over $1800 and Nissan has already aggreed to assit in $300 for fixing the problem. My concern is that other Nissan vehilcles have been recalled for the same problem in the past year but my model has not. They have assumed some of the resonsiblity by offering me some conpensation. I believe that this is a factory defect and should be corrected by Nissan to ensure the safety of the vehicle. I would like to add my vehicle has never been in an accident and has always been repared by a Nissan dealer, I have been under review with Nissan costomer affairs for the past 2 months and have not been able get compensation.
