This could create safety issue if someone runs out of fuel during heavy traffic.

12 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2005 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 02/03/2016

My trucks fuel gauge does not register, I understand there was a recall. So I called 2 dealers they told me that my VIN/truck is not covered. But what I've seen is that it is an accident waiting to happen. It does it all the time, parked, on the streets or freeway which I drive daily for work. No injury, crash or fatality yet. I love my truck, work in a level 1 trauma center, I see many car accident victim's when it could have been avoided, like with me now. Please help me I would be forever grateful!! I pray Nissan will do what is right!!.

13 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2006 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 02/01/2016

A few weeks ago I noticed that the fuel gauge on my truck would drop to empty and the low fuel indicator light would turn on immediately after filling up. After I drove around a few miles, the fuel gauge would go back up to it's normal level. However, over the course of the last few weeks it has gotten worse and worse to the point where it almost always reads empty. After looking online, I found that there was a recall on my year, make, and model for faulty fuel sensors (NHTSA campaign #10v075000). However, after calling Nissan and providing them with my VIN, they informed me that my truck was not part of the recall. After researching this online, I've found that many, many people are in the same situation as me. Some have even been told by the Nissan repair mechanics who fixed their vehicles that it was caused by the same defect, but there was nothing they could do because the VIN wasn't included in the reported batch, or that that the extended warranty for this defect had already expired. This is outrageous. I walk to work almost every day so the mileage on my Frontier is fairly low. I'm just over 50,000 miles since I purchased the truck in 2006, but I'm still affected by this serious defect. This is a potentially dangerous defect. It is not right that I, and every body else who is affected but not "covered", should have to pay the high price for the repair.

14 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2006 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 01/12/2016

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Frontier. After refueling the vehicle, the fuel gauge displayed an incorrect reading. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. 15 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 01/06/2016

While driving fuel gauge suddenly dropped to empty and caused service engine warning light to come on. This has happened on 5 occasions. Problem seems related to that addressed by NHTSA campaign # 10v075000 for 2006 and 2008 Nissan Frontiers although the 2007 Frontier is not addressed in this campaign.

16 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 10/28/2015

Never received recall notice for fuel gauge sender unit/float problem - dealer/Nissan will not honor older recall so they say I must pay for repair.

17 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

19 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 07/01/2015

Nissan sold me a new truck with a design flaw, a faulty fuel sending unit. Nissan consumer affairs said I have to take the truck with the design flaw (e. G. Failed fuel sending unit) to a Nissan dealer and pay to have it diagnosed (though the problem is already known to me as being the design flaw of a failed fuel sending unit) after which they would investigate to see if they can provide assistance to repair it though they admitted after checking my VIN they are not aware of any instance that would cover the repair (e. G. They are not going to repair it). The bottom line is I purchased a new Nissan Frontier which I had maintained by a local mechanic (not a Nissan dealership) and it came with a design flaw (e. G. Fuel sending unit) that they want me to pay over a hundred dollars to have diagnosed at one of their dealerships after which they aren't going to fix it for me (despite the face saving act of Nissan consumer affairs). Nissan displayed zero integrity in failing to diagnose and pay to have the design flaw repaired, in my opinion, at their cost. Furthermore, the policy they developed to "save face" is disingenuous in my estimation and designed only to increase their profit further. I'm a low income worker who will drive around with a fuel gauge that doesn't work and the service engine light on because I can't pay the hundreds and hundreds of dollars that it would cost to have a design flaw diagnosed at a Nissan dealership afterwards paying to repair it myself because Nissan isn't going to.

20 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 04/11/2015

My 2007 Nissan Frontier is experiencing what many other Frontier truck owner are experiencing. . . The dreaded inaccurate fuel gauge readings along with the check engine light. I am blown away that Nissan has not had the courage to order a recall on this well known issue. Hopefully this will not result in a number of fatalities before they "do the right thing". Very unfortunate and a poor form of customer service for owners who will most likely seek a different brand as there next purchase.

21 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2006 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 01/31/2015

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Frontier. While driving at numerous speeds, the fuel gauge fluctuated and the vehicle ran out of fuel. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but it was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 10v075000 (fuel system, gasoline). The failure mileage was approximately 75,000. The VIN was unavailable.

22 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 01/15/2015

23 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 12/16/2014

Fuel gauge fails to register proper amount of fuel, triggers check engine light (mil) and reports trouble code showing open circuit in fuel sensor system. This failure requires me to watch mileage by using trip odometer to monitor when to purchase fuel. Could also cause failure of emissions test as check engine light is on. This would be an unnecessary financial burden to fix as well as having a failure of the emissions test based on the fuel sending unit not functioning properly and not from excessive emissions or other emissions control parts. Emissions tests are $50-70 per attempt with dyno runs. Estimated cost of repair is $5-750. 00 for labor and materials. Vehicle was purchased new 7/07 with 50 miles on it as it was delivered from another dealership. Currently has 61,000 miles. Vehicle runs perfect otherwise. Would like Nissan to at least send the replacement part (@ $250).

24 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2006 Nissan Frontier

26 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2005 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 05/01/2014

My Nissan Frontier truck's "check engine soon" light appeared. The warning was dtc p0463. It corresponds with Nissan's technical bulletin el07-027b, reference ntb07-069b. Nissan extended the warranty to 9/24/11 and 72,000 miles or less. My vehicle's mileage is at 32,500 miles. Nissan recognized that it had a problem with the fuel level sending unit. They even extended the warranty for it. Unfortunately, I don't drive this vehicle much. I checked on the internet. Many of the problems appeared at the 30,000 mile mark. My fuel gauge is erratic and does not show an accurate level of fuel. This problem is caused by the deterioration of the unit based on use and not time; therefore, I believe they should either recall this part or extend the warranty with either the time or mileage or unlimited. I am afraid that my fuel will run out without any warning and cause a major accident on the freeway. I am very frustrated with Nissan. They don't take ownership over their problems. I personally will not purchase a Nissan vehicle again.

27 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 04/12/2014

I was told that my vehicle does not have a recall due to the VIN but yet when I went on the safecar. Gov website and the issue's that I am having with my truck is what is on the list. What I don't understand why the place that I get it repair will not honor this. I have the abs/vdc wheel speed sensor and the fuel gauge issues.

28 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2006 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 03/19/2014

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that the air bag warning lamp illuminated. Also, the contact mentioned that after refueling, the fuel gauge stayed on empty. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The air bag sensor and the fuel level sensor were defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 37,000.

30 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 12/28/2013

Fuel gauge not working properly. I brought the truck to dealer and they determined it was due to faulty fuel level sensor sending unit. Cost: $511 this should be a recall since it is a safety issue in that I could run out of gas on the highway and possibly become involved in a collision.

31 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2008 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 09/20/2013

Nissan acknowledged that the fuel gauge sending unit in model years 2004-08 was faulty, causing the unit to send faulty information on fuel levels and causing the check engine light to come on. They offered an extended warranty to repair the problem, but when I contacted them, they said my VIN# wasn't covered - even though it is the year model affected with the problem. No such restriction on VIN# s is presented on their websites. It is only after I tried to get the problem repaired that they denied covering it, even though it is a known defect. I appealed all the way to corporate and got nowhere. I believe they are simply trying to Dodge paying for a repair that is their own manufacturing fault.

32 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2005 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 06/01/2013

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, he noticed that the fuel gauge displayed an inaccurate reading. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who stated that the fuel gauge sending unit would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.

33 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2006 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 05/22/2013

Fuel sender issue was causing the fuel gauge to not work properly. I did some research and found that there had been a recall for this issue (10v-075) and my vehicle appears to be covered as it was built in January 2006. The dearlership said that my vehicle was not covered under the recall. I could not understand why it wasn't covered as my issue was exactly what the recall was for, but I needed it fixed so I paid a total of $476. 67. I called Nissan consumer affairs dept. And opened a case (1121397) and they asked me to submit the bill I paid at the dearlership, which I did, but now when I call the check on the status they don't answer. Voicemails are not returned so I don't know what is going on. Can you help??.

34 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 02/01/2013

Nissan extended a limited warranty for a fuel gauge sending unit which displays incorrect amount of fuel. My Nissan has passed the year of extended warranty not the miles. So Nissan failed my "hardship request" that they sent my case through. Though I did not have any problems with the fuel sending unit until after the warranty expired, Nissan's decision was to deny my fix. I don't see how I can report a problem if it has not occurred. The Nissan official told me over the phone that I had not spent enough money at the dealer ship/has not had my vehicle serviced there enough though my vehicle was there times before and I had maintenance performed at another qualified service center.

35 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier
