Transmission started slipping and then lost reverse. And finally just kept slipping and wouldn't move more than a few hundred feet ,and would turn off and wouldn't restart until the transmission cooled off,and when it restarted the idle or tachometer would jump into the red line area even though the truck wouldn't drive past 20 mph. Coasting on the freeway I would pull to the side and have cars drive around mr while trying to push it off the shoulder, looking for an off ramp to go to the nearest transmission shop I could find. . Secondly I had to replace my fuel sender and or. My fuel pump I t went out when I was driving down the freeway thinking I had a half a tank when actually it was on empty . . So I really never knew how much fuel it had until I got it fixed at sam's automotive in beaumont CA . 92223 and sam has returned and sold the business so I have no receipt only remembering it costs between 500 and 100 dollars . . And yes I checked and it too had a recall and I was never notified.

When refueling vehicle fuel splashes out of reseptical after 10 seconds of fueling. The auto shutoff on the fuel pump activates and refueling stops but not after fuel splashes out on the person refueling the vehicle and creating a hazmat event at the fuel pumps. This does not happen at every fillup but if it happens at but if it does it at a pump it will continue splashing at that pump every time I try to get fuel. .

Truck started dying randomly. Finally it died and would not restart. The truck was diagnosed with having no fuel pressure. I found out that there was a recall on the truck (ntb04-062c) that could cause the fuel pump to stop working. I verified with Nissan over the phone that the truck was definitely involved in the recall. I had the truck towed to a local Nissan dealership (southlake Nissan in merrillville, in). After keeping the truck there for a week and telling me that they had to order parts, they told me that they could not perform the recall because the vehicle was not running. I had the truck towed home today. This recall is specifically for an issue that is known to cause a no start condition. How can I get the recall performed if they will not work on it if it won't start? I now have paid over $300 in towing charges and have not had any work done.

The 2 complaints I have regarding my Frontier have been recalled for the same yr that my Frontier is, but I didn't receive a recall notice for either one. First is the fuel pump sending unit, which shows you how much gas you have in the vehicle. My fuel gauge will show that I have no gas even after I fill up my tank, but then I can park for a few minutes & then the gauge will show that I have a full tank of gas. I ran a diagnostic test, & the results displayed a code that meant it needed a new sending unit. However, with this particular model, I cannot just get the sending unit, because it only comes in one whole piece, meaning that the mechanics will have to empty the gas tank & drop the tank, which is much more work. Therefore, this repair will cost me $900. 00. The second complaint & the most outrageous & disappointing one is regarding my transmission & radiator. Recently I took my Frontier into the shop to habe the transmission fluid checked & changed if it needed to be. However, the mechanic called & informed that after hooking my truck up to a transmission tester, the results indicated that I had pressure problems due to the radiator coolant leaking into the transmission fluid, & causing a chemical reaction that will destroy the clutches inside the automatic transmission. Keep in mind that I only have 80,000 miles on my 2006 Frontier, & needing a new transmission already with this low mileage is absolutely ridiculous & uncalled for. Especially since Nissan has done a recall for the same yr & model of my truck, & for the exact thing that my faulty radiator was doing. For some unknown reason, my radiator model was not on the recall list for either one of the recalls & it should've been, because there are hundreds of consumers that have had the same problem that I have had, & that's with both of my complaints. So I just spent $4,000. 00 for a rebuilt transmission.
My truck just reached 80,800 miles and it has lost power. I took it to the Nissan dealer for a diagnostic test and it came back with the radiator, transmission and the fuel pump all need to be replaced. They told me I had no warranty on any of these parts as of 2010 and they quoted me almost $7,000 to replace all. After going home and looking up transmission shops I found hundreds of articles about the same problem with thousands of Nissan cars. I have never received a notice of recall on my truck. Then I find they have sneakily extended their warranty without notifying us and now my truck is 12years old with only 80,800 miles and I need to come up with $7,000 because they failed to notify their clients about their mistakes.

Letting my Frontier major problem last week 100miles away from home for work. My Frontier won't accelerate cutting of speed. Has weird smell to it. Truck was towed Nissan here diagnosed with fuel pump problem, tramission and radiator hv to be replaced costing $7000. 00 06 friontier crew cab, 96000miles thinking when Nissan knew all this about why not they fixing it. I don't have these money, last year had problem with Nissan I went bought new rav4 start telling my friend now stay out of Nissan.
As I was driving down the freeway @ 70mph in the fast lane on interstate 80 in the san francisco's bay area, my truck suddenly turned off. I had to fight to get from the fast lane, to get over 4 lanes to the shoulder. I had just filled up my truck in berkeley at a chevron, I put $60. 00 in. So I knew I had fuel. I ended up having my truck towed home. The following day I went to auto zone and hooked up the diagnostic reader. It said that I needed a new fuel pump. Upon further read each I found out that this is a typical issue for the Nissan Frontier. It has been so much an issue Nissan recalled 2004 & 2006 models but did not include the 2005 model even though its the same faulty part! I have not been able to have the fuel pump sensor replaced due to cost and I am a single mother. This has happened on numerous occasions and is a severe hazard that should be enforced by you to get Nissan to include the 2005 Nissan Frontier for this death hazard fuel pump sensor issue!!!.
In eight years I have changed two zd30 engines in my Frontier, because of burned out pistons and bad cylinder heads, eight burned out pistons in total, and as of today December 3/2014 my Frontier lost power sending blue smoke from the exhaust and oil,my mechanic says the engine has to be opened again. My fuel pump went bad soon after the warranty was up. Sent it over seas to be repaired ,at a cost of $1500. 00 the dangerous part is the steering going loose, lucky for my wife and self I was in traffic driving at 10 mph. The local dealer disclaimed everything. I am about to lodge a complaint to our local bureau of standards.
Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that the fuel gauge reading indicated that the fuel tank was half full. The contact indicated that while at a stop light the fuel gauge erroneously decreased to empty causing the empty light to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the fuel sensor on the fuel pump was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified but no remedy was offered. The failure mileage was 43,555. Jft.

They know about this fuel pump bad ,pay about $600.
My car wouldn't start. Battery was fine. . Passengers had recently said that they noticed a fuel smell, but I can't smell (a physical handicap of mine). ; called aaa- it was then that we noticed that fuel was leaking out of the top of the gas tank, the fuel pump wire that supplies power to the fuel pump was broken. Car had to be towed to a local garage. Called Nissan dealer and he said 'your car is old, just replace the fuel tank. But, the design of the gas tank is such that there is a 'gully' where water gets trapped on the design of the top of the fuel tank. Nissan refuses to admit that this is a design flaw that is causing the top of the fuel tanks to corrode; and this is indeed a safety issue! as a mechanical engineer who specializes in metals, it is definitely a poor design; I have owned and worked on cars my entire life, and have never seen a fuel tank corrode through. All of the local mechanics/garages in my area tell me "this is a common problem in Nissan Frontiers- we fix them all of the time. ".

Service engine soon light was on when I started my truck that day and the fuel gauge was malfunctioning. After doing a search on the internet, it sounds like it may be the fuel sending unit or fuel pump which is a known issue with this model. Thanks.

Tl- the contact owns a 2000 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that while parked, the check engine light illuminated and a strong fuel odor could be noticed. Upon inspection, it was found that the top of the fuel tank was corroded. The vehicle was not taken to a mechanic and was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that the vehicle had been previously repaired under NHTSA campaign id number: 04v230000 (fuel system, gasoline:delivery:fuel pump). The contact was also informed that the recall only covered the fuel pump. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000. Mah.

Been smelling gas for over a year. Then driving home on 07/05/2012 fuel pump started spewing gas took 18 gallons gas to drive 10 miles before I new what was going on . Fuel pump assembley has multiple stress fractures all over the top and fittings that have been there for a long time probable from new. Nissan will not fix. Says my VIN is not in the recall . I have the fuel pump with photos of the stress fractures thanks.
After gas tank went down to 1/4 tank, got a fill up at a local gas station. Pulled off and notice that the gas gauge was not reading that it was full. After riding a mile the check engine light came on. Went to local dealership thinking I just needed an oil change; that did not solve the problem. Then was charged $100 for a diagnostic test. The test confirmed: replacement of the fuel pump assembly recommended after the sending unit goes bad. Causing no reading on gas gauge even after gas tank is filled in terms making the check engine light remain on consistently. I brought this truck used still under warranty. Came to find out that the part isn't under warranty but is a common issue with these models from 2004-2007. . . .
I noticed a fuel odor for about 2 days and then my check engine light came on. I went to my local Nissan dealership on 9/26/2014 and was told that my fuel pump is not sealing properly on top of my fuel tank due to rust. I was informed that the tank needs to be replaced and the cost would be $954 dollars. This is the second time I have had this problem. This same problem occurred in may 2009. I had the same fuel odor issue. They dropped the tank, cleaned up the rust, resealed the fuel pump, and re-installed the tank. At the time it cost me $594 dollars. I have the receipts for both issues. At the time Nissan corporate stated that they would not pay for the issue. This is a reoccurring problem for me and I read under the "complaints" section for this vehicle that other people have had this same problem. This is both a tank defect and more importantly a safety issue.
Error code p0463 this seems to be a common problem with this model nissian requires a fuel pump assy to repair.
I took my truck to the Nissan dealership in fairfield California and was told that they needed to replace the fuel pump terminal, but they had to order the part. They never got back to me and it was never repaired. It was so long ago, I can't even remember the date. I live out of state now, but still have my truck and would like it fixed at no charge to me.
