2 Other Fuel System Tank Mounting problem of the 2006 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 03/15/2016

The lock ring that holds the fuel level sensor, fuel filter, & fuel pump assembly has come loose and the assembly moved upward about ½ inch leaving a gap allowing gas to splash out of the top of the fuel tank when full of gas or going over a bump. This happened over time after the vehicle¿s fuel sensor was replaced after a recall.

3 Other Fuel System Tank Mounting problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 01/22/2015

Fuel gage indicated that I had a bit less than 1/2 tank of fuel. Run out of fuel as the fuel sending unit was displaying the wrong amount of fuel shortly after that the service engine light came on. Took the vehicle to a repair shop was diagnosed with a p0463 code defective fuel sending unit. Called Nissan of north America for support was told that I needed to take the vehicle to a dealer in order for Nissan to honor the warranty. Spent $106 dollars the first time at the shop and then $104 at the local Nissan dealership. After several calls to Nissan north America customer affairs I was told that the fuel sending unit is not covered, this is the same issue that thousands of people are experiencing how can it be possible that my vehicle is not covered, it only has 33k miles. . . This is a larger issue that needs attention by NHTSA as there has been documented accidents from people running out of fuel on the freeway. I've run out of fuel 3 times in the past 3 months as I deal with Nissan to see if they can do anything about my issue.

4 Other Fuel System Tank Mounting problem of the 2005 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 12/01/2014

#1recently I noticed that my fuel gauge has been unreliable. It will show the actual fuel amount, then it will show that there is no fuel in the tank just a few moments later. Sometimes this issue lasts for a week where it shows the fuel tank to be empty while it is full. Also there is a check engine light that accompanies. #2 I live in alaska and require the defroster vent to work in the winter. This winter starting in December I noticed that air will not blow out of the defroster vent below the windshield. I have tried numerous selections on the dial/controls without resolve. It also makes a "bubbling and clicking sound" that to me sounds mechanical in the dashboard, when the vent is trying to change from the floor vent, to the head vents, and then up to the windshield vent.

5 Other Fuel System Tank Mounting problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 08/13/2014

While driving on city street fuel guage reading over 1/4 tank went to make a lane change vehicle started to cut out service engine light came on then the vehicle went completely dead making it difficult to steer or brake or pull to the side of the road out of traffic. Had the vehicle checked and was advised after he read the code that the fuel sensor was faulty giving a false reading on the amount of fuel remaining in the tank and that he had heard of a Nissan recall on the fuel sensor. After I put more fuel in my vehicle it started right up but service engine light stayed on. Contacted Nissan customer service about the problem and was advised that some 2007 Nissan Frontiers and other model of that year had simular issues but my vehicle was not covered for that problem.

6 Other Fuel System Tank Mounting problem of the 2007 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 12/27/2012

The fuel gauge has issues with proper amount of fuel in tank. The service engine light on with a po0643 code. The 2006 and 2008 models are covered by a recall, but not the 2007 for the same exact problem with the same parts being used. Something must be done!.

7 Other Fuel System Tank Mounting problem of the 2006 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 08/10/2012

Fuel gauge began to malfunction, showing and improper amount of fuel in the tank. Check engine light stays on. Fuel gauge registers incorrect level after fueling up the vehicle. I have ran out of gas on one occasion due to this. I was on the side of a busy interstate with my 6 yr old and had to cross the interstate to get assistance. This is a safety concern. Nissan tells me that my vehicle is not included in the recall and if I want to repair the vehicle it will be at my own expense. This is a widespread problem with Nissan fuel sending units on the Frontier and should be fixed in a nationwide recall, not a VIN specific recall. The product is faulty. Nissan and NHTSA should both be ashamed for not putting out a nationwide recall.

8 Other Fuel System Tank Mounting problem of the 2006 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 01/04/2010

Filled my 2006 Frontier with gas one day and the "service engine" came on. The next day the gauge did not register amount of fuel in tank. The following week I refilled again and gauge did not register properly. I then drove around for an hour and it eventually registered full again. Took to local Nissan dealer and they did a scan and it revealed it had a faulty fuel level sender. The repair was completed about 2 months prior to recall being announced. I checked with the dealer and one service advisor said they would reimburse my cost, once the actual recall letters were sent out. Since then the dealer says the recall for the fuel sender does not apply to my truckand will not reimburse me. I called the 1-800 Nissan number and they say my truck is not covered . However the service bulletin say "2005-2007 Frontier - all".

9 Other Fuel System Tank Mounting problem of the 1998 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 06/25/1998

Fuel gauge does not indicate proper amount of gas in tank. The dealer has not been able to fix the problem and states that there is no current available technology to repair. It is my understanding that other owners are experiencing the same problem. The truck has been in for repair eight times. Dealer has not been helpful and has lied about the extent of the work necessary, etc.
