The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Maxima. While driving approximately 30 mph, the transmission began to jerk violently and the engine stalled without warning. Hello my name is benjamin jones and I have a 2006 Nissan Maxima sl with 76k. This car has seemed to be more of a headache than anything else. Here are a list of problems. 1. ) transmission: jerks bad, free rev's bad, jumps from park to drive and reverse baaad. 2. ) abs system: the system initiated itself and I took it to midas there scanner read that there were no problems but still (to this day) bad grinding when I brake and rubbing sound when I accelertate. (happening for 3 days now) 3. ) car was making bad clicking noise while engine was on. . . . Diagnosis from dealership; timing chain $1200. 00 noise is still sounding after replacement. Please I have read countless forums hoping that I wasn't the only one. . . . The transmission especially is defective please!.

3 Transmission Noise problem

Failure Date: 12/03/2010

I purchased a brand new 2006 Nissan Maxima. I have my car serviced every three months and now at only 69,000 milieus my transmission has failed. A few months after purchasing my vehicle I noticed a ?whining? noise when accelerating. I took the car back to the dealer several times for this issue and was told by the service manager that the mechanic could find no issue. I believe that there is a transmission defect on the 2006 Nissan Maxima and there should be a recall.

4 Transmission Noise problem

Failure Date: 09/04/2010

2006 Nissan Maxima transmition keeps sliping and jerking in-between gears. There is a growling noise coming from the engine. There is a squeeking coming from the front driverside shock. Took to Nissan dealership to have it inspected and ended up having to have the transmission rebuilt and they couldnt "reconstruct the noises from the shock" and they couldnt identify the what was causing the noise from the engine.

5 Transmission Noise problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2008

Exhaust/emission - catalytic converter failed and makes terrible noise - not fixed yet. Dealer says, car will work without any problems at 103,000 miles (8th year) body frame - under carriage on driver side rusted, with a bulge. Dealer said, rusting it not enough, you should be able to put the screw driver or finger through the rusted portion. 35000 miles ( after 5years and 2 days) transmission - it jerks and is very dangerous on the road. Repair estimation is around $3500 from the dealer. When the car comes to a stop in the traffic light, then sometimes, it does not move. After accelerating a bit, it just jumps. It is very very hard to go in a stop and go traffic. So I maintain a certain distance keeping this in mind. Nissan motor corporation does not care for any of the issues. Dealer comes up with one or the other reason. Until now they have never worked conducively with the customers. 103,000 (9th year. ) engine - the timing chain failed, engine was making the sound of a railroad. Costed a lot to get it fixed, and after that, sound is not completely gone. After multiple compliants, they are not bothered. They say, use only 93 octance. 103,000(9th year).
