Brake rotors warped after 20,000 miles. I have had them replaced 3 times because they were too warped to turn.

37 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2001 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 03/02/2002

While driving 60 mph, the driver applied the brakes and the vehicle vibrated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for an inspection and the mechanic determined that the rotors needed to be replaced. The problem still continued at this time. The front rotors were replaced and turned. On a later date the rotors needed to be resurfaced. The dealer would not fix the vehicle under warranty.

While driving 55-65mph and applying brakes vehicle would vibrate. Took vehicle to dealership, and indicatiion was that rotors were warped and needed to be replaced.

Vehicle was shaking when applying brakes, consumer took vehicle into dealer, and dealer rotated the rotors. 5oo0 miles later, brakes had to be replaced. Soon after that vehicle was back in shop to get brakes replaced again. Consumer stated front brake rotors were warped.

The front rotors warp about every 12,000 miles. Each time, the dealer has either replaced or re-surfaced the rotors. This is a known defect, and Nissan hasn't corrected the issue. So far, my rotors have been serviced 4 times, and now coming on number 5.

2000 Maxima engine failed. Piston rod broke into pieces and totally damaged the engine. The rotors were turned and the doors were hard to open. The drive belts were replaced. The deck lid light bulb was replaced. The consumer was unable to pull out the dip stick. Updated 03/20/06.

Numerous problems with vehicle's front rotors. This was the consumer's third set of front rotors and the latest set warped. The vehicle vibrated and pulled to the side when the consumer applied the brakes. The vehicle had been in the shop for brake work six times. The consumer owned many Nissan's and stated that this was the first major problem ever experienced. There was still a slight vibration coming from the rear brakes, moaning/groaning sounds from the front right, creaking/popping when turning, when setting the cruise at 70 mph(cruise control cable was not properly adjusted), it felt as if the gas was applied, and bumps could be felt in the road through the steering wheel. . It took a long time for the air condition to cool the vehicle.

While driving 55 mph or higher the steering wheel vibrated when the brake were applied. The driver suspected that the rotors were warped.
