The air bag light is flashing. I read on line that this is very common and has been reported as a faulty switch. I would like to have this repaired for safety reasons. As I understand it Nissan is aware. Please advise.

Passenger seat switch that controls air bag would turn off airbag with an adult in the seat . Had recall work done at the dealer I purchased the vehicle from new after work was done dash light say passenger air bag of with no one in seat and stays on all the time . It does go out with an adult in the seat . My complaint is this is a temporary fix at best this is not how this is designed to work what happens when dash light burns out ? no other vehicle I own works this way if there is a problem with the position of the switch in the seat it should be repaired or replaced for free I did not buy this car thinking that Nissan would not stand behind its product a defect is a defect fix it properly.

The contact owns a 2009 Nissan Murano. While driving 25 mph, another vehicle crashed into the front of the contact's vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The driver sustained face injuries, the front passenger who was pregnant sustained stomach injures, the fetus sustained a fracture on the leg, and the rear passenger sustained head injures. All passengers required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed, but was taken to an auto body repair center for body repairs. In addition, five months later while driving at 35 mph, the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to stop. As a result, the contact switched into the right lane and another vehicle crashed into the rear passenger side door of the vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The driver sustained back injuries, the front passenger sustained back and cervical injuries and the rear passenger sustained head injuries. A police report was filed. All passengers required medical attention. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 109,000.
We own a 2005 Nissan Murano - the driver's door and passenger door on the driver's side will not unlock with the remote or the switch - they require a manual unlock - this seems to be a common problem with these vehicles from my research online - I feel it is a safety issue that Nissan should repair at no charge to the consumer. Also, the airbag light stays on - we have had this checked, and it continues to be on - this is also another safety issue. Our vehicle is in perfect condition otherwise. We have less than 60,000 miles on the car.
Vehicle has entered "fail-safe" mode at least 8 times in the past year. Dealership has had the vehicle no less than 7 times following "fail-safe" events. Ground wire to ecm svc bulletin was completed. Recalled alternator was replaced (after 4th event). Airbag sensor and airbag spiral cable were replaced following separate events. Currently, carmd tool is giving a p2135 error code, and states that latest event was caused by throttle position sensor/switch and/or an "a" /"b" electrical voltage correlation error. All "fail-safe" mode events occurred during high-speed (55-65 mph) traffic on multi-lane highways, with the exception of the latest event. Three times, entry into "fail-safe" mode created extremely hazardous situations and near-accidents. Each time, after the ignition was switched off, the vehicle has restarted in normal operating mode, but the mil came on and stayed on until vehicle was serviced by dealership.
