I have copied a previous complaint, since I have had the same experience. "my supplemental airbag light came on 2/20/21 (Aug, 2022) and continued to flash. I took the vehicle to the dealership on 2/27/21 (in September, 2022) and they said the OCS sensor mat was bad and it would cost $4858. 13 ($3000) to replace the front passenger seat bottom. He said everything is contained in the seat bottom so the whole thing has to be replaced.

1-the dashboard is cracking all over. Many cracks and also cracking by the rightt side dash airbag. My car is in the garage 98% of the time. We only drive this car once or twice a month. We are not the original owners we have this car for about 2 1/2 years and only put 1000 miles on it. The car has 109631 miles on it. The car is in mint condition inside and out. 2- the airbag light comes on and was diagnosed as the passenger front seat occupant sensor. On this model the sensor is built into the seat bottom. This means that you need to replace the whole seat bottom which the part alone runs about 2500. 00.

He said everything is contained in the seat bottom so the whole thing has to be replaced. He said this sometimes happens because women put there purses in the seat. Really? sounds like it's a faulty system if that's the case. I did some research and the 2015-20?? models have all had recalls because of this issue. I'm sure my system is faulty as well and should be replaced by Nissan.
Passenger air bag light continuously flashes. Car has 28,600 miles and almost never has had a passenger in the seat. Driven by single, widowed driver. Car is routinely serviced at dealer. Got a quote of over $5200 to repair. I have read a few other complaints online for this model with much higher mileage. Nissan says they are not taking not responsibility and I should contact this agency, $5200 is roughly more than half of the value of the car and non-repair makes it unsafe should an occasional passenger sit in the sit and almost non-salable. This is obviously a safety issue.

We recently bought an out of warranty, as is 2012 Nissan Murano and the dash airbag light and passenger airbag light are both on. They never go off after the initial 7 second wait time. Vehicle in motion or standing still doesn't matter. I have scanned for codes and b1018-00 keeps coming back after attempting to erase. Normal sized people sit in these two seats and use their seat belts religiously so "misaligned seating" is not the case. I have researched this and a few others have had the exact problem. This is a safety item that should be taken care of by Nissan regardless of mileage and such but I'm seeing that people are getting a "OH well" kind of response from Nissan. If there's a class action suit to get in, I will. I have not contacted Nissan about this as of yet but will probably have to at least spend big dollars to get it scanned and diagnosed at a dealership.
Passenger airbag light is on and will not reset. Vehicle has 116,000 miles, code b1018 code which calls for passenger seat sensor and module assembly. This part is part of the seat itself which Nissan charges $4000 for. This is a safety issue because no one is going to pay $4000 plus cost to install just to have a passenger airbag. This could result in injury or death that might otherwise be avoided if the cost to repair was reasonable. Nissan had a flawed design where the inexpensive parts were not separate from the very expensive seat. I have contacted Nissan and they have no interest in helping out.
My 2012 Nissan Murano has approx 119,000 miles on it. The passenger side air bag light stays on indicating that the airbag is off, even when there is someone in the passenger's seat, even when it's a full grown adult. In addition, I have a flashing red airbag light on my dash as well. After a couple weeks of this, I took my vehicle to the dealer as listed in the manual. They said the sensor went out and the entire seat cushion for the passenger side would need to be replaced at a cost of ~$5300. I only paid $11000 for the vehicle to begin with. There's no way I will be paying half the vehicle's worth for a basic safety necessity. I believe the manufacturer should pay for any costs related to a safety issue such as this and it appears that I'm not the only vehicle owner experiencing this issue. Please rectify the situation and do a recall for these airbags or for the sensors in the seat cushions. It's not right to put us all in danger like this.

Air bag light is on. Took it to auto shop and they are stating the air bag module is bad and needs to be replace. The car have never been in an accident so why would it need to be replace?.

Recently, a problem arose with my 2009 Nissan Murano's occupant classification system (OCS). The airbag light in my car had turned on so I brought it to the mechanic. After numerous efforts, he suggested that I bring it to the local Nissan dealer. When I did, they were at a loss as to what to do. At the time, I called Nissan north America (nna) to see if there was anything they could do. After registering my concerns, nna apparently made some inquiries of the dealer and then told me that the car was out of warranty. I brought it back to my mechanic, who reassembled the passenger seat and, surprisingly, the airbag light went off. This solution was only temporary. I brought it to my mechanic again, who discovered a recall campaign on an identical issue which included my car's make and model. Specifically, Nissan recall campaign bulletin ntb08-095, issued 11/4/2008. (also see id #: p8242, NHTSA #: 08v-521. ) my mechanic again referred me to the dealer, who told me that occupant sensor performed pin test and found internal failure with occupant sensor. I then contacted Nissan and opened a case regarding my situation (#37964757). I received a response that the OCS in my car was somehow different from those that were covered by the recall. However, when my problems are so similar to those described by the recall bulletin, and the same test that is used for the recall found issues with my car, I don't see why cars with the same OCS as mine should not be covered by the campaign. There is no reason not to. It is the same make and model of the recall and is suffering from the same issue. I don't understand why one group of cars is covered but another is not even though both groups are afflicted by the same problems. I hope that the scope of the recall can be expanded to include all cars that, like mine, pose a potential safety hazard to their drivers and passengers.

Tl-the contact owns a 2009 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator on the passenger side illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer modern Nissan of winston salem, 5795 university pkwy, winston-salem, nc, 27105, they determined that the sensor on the passenger side seat had to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 117,488. Bp.
The passenger no airbag light intermittently appears when a passenger is sitting in the passenger seat of my new vehicle (approximately 3100 miles). This has occurred on multiple occasions when the seat is in an upright position when the vehicle is in motion and once when the passenger seat was reclined, also while the vehicle was in motion. The no air bag light stays on while the vehicle is moving or stopped and sporadically turns off. The cause is unknown. Nissan sent a specialist to the Nissan dealership to repair this issue, among other things. I was told by the representative of Nissan consumer affairs (the "rep. ") that the specialist resolved the air bag issue by making a adjustment", and it was not a repair because no parts were replacement. This adjustment did not resolve the issue. The passenger no airbag light continued to sporadically appear. I brought the vehicle back to the dealership and showed them another video of the air bag issue. Despite the videos of the airbag issue, the dealership and the rep. Told me that "they could not find anything wrong and the airbag is functioning as expected". I was also told by the rep that the videos of the airbag issue were not sufficient, "Nissan has to confirm it". The dealership indicated that when the passenger seat is reclined more than 50% the passenger and driver side airbag could be affected. This is irrelevant, because the no airbag light appears when the passenger seat is in the upright position. The airbag is not functioning as expected. Nissan's failure to diagnose what is wrong with the airbad does not negate the fact that there is a serious defect with the airbag that is likely to cause death or serious bodily injury. It is clear that there is passenger side airbag issue and Nissan's response as discussed above is unacceptable and creates a serious safety issue.

Back in April my Murano would turn off whether I was accelerating or just sitting at a stop light, the brake light and battery light would come on and vehicle wouldnt start back up, ended up having it towed 3 different times to mechanic who couldnt figure out what was wrong because it wasnt showing any codes so from there had it towed to newton Nissan where it took them 10 days to diagnose it was the alternator (replaced battery first but that didnt work)ended up getting the Nissan alternator versus aftermarket for the warranty, get it back everything is fine, now in August alternator fails out again, back to newton Nissan we go, the replace "alternator" and when I get it back power steering isnt working so after the fixed that everything was fine until it started shutting off on me again like the very first time. Meanwhile ive had to pay over $1000 for the alternator work which was recalled however my VIN didnt fall under the recall. Engine compartment and hood of car are also so hot you cant touch them even after just driving 1 mile in 70 degreee weather however the temperature gauge isnt running high. Now the airbag light is flashing on and off upon starting. I tried cycling the engine nurmerous times but the light is still on. Nissan said they will have to replace whole unit for $5000 because they cant pin point airbag issue. Airbag issue isnt fixed and nobody can tell me if I have a working air bag or not. Im not sure if I need to contact an attorney because im now concerned about the safety of my 4 year old daughter while in the vehicle.
Airbag light flashing, will not turn off, also my tire pressure light will not turn off, that has been on for a year.
My passenger airbag light start blinking and the airbag system was out. My car was in my garage, when on a certain day I was going out and as I turn on my car I saw the airbag light blinking. Then I brought it to the Nissan dealer and they said the airbag was not in recall.

Takata recall the engine in my 2007 Nissan Murano stalls at one point it shut iff on me while driving my son to school. The air bag light is blinkg so there a peoblem with the air bag there is a problem with the speed control the vehicle slows down and it will not pass 60.
Airbag light lit constantly, other indicator lights, brake, voltage, intermmitently go on then off. Power windows open by themselves when the car is parked and locked.
Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Nissan murrain. The contact stated that the air bag light was on all the time. The dealer was not called. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000. Fe.
Front passenger airbag light is blinking for airbag not on.
My vehicle was not moving at the time the light started flashing. The passenger air bag "off" light does not work unless I move the connector under the front right passenger seat. Then the passenger air bag light will shut off after about 10 seconds. This is the same problem listed for the recall but my vehicle is not part of the recall. This seems to be a problem for many Murano's not included in the recall.
Murano recall has been issued for other 2009 Muranos for OCS sensor issue. Airbag light was triggered (stays flashing after vehicle has been started stationary & in motion) & code b1032 came up at Nissan dealer. I was informed that my VIN wasn't included in recall, despite it being same trigger, year, make & model recalled. I requested info on how close in manufacturing to the recalled vehicles mine is & was informed that info isn't known. That info is tracked somewhere & that's how recalls are issued. To get this repaired would cost me over $2. 500 (per estimate on record). How do I get this investigated so mine can be included as it is the same year, make, model & issue involved in recall?.
Well lets start with the engine stalling and not being able to get on the highway cause the engine lacks the power to even move. The right passenger side air bag light keeps flasing no matter what it does'nt go off. There is a rattling noise coming from the rear right side under the carriage. The left rear tire it lobsided and when it rains the rear of the car feels like its on ice and sways side to side it's an accident waiting to happen the tire sensor light never goes off even if you inflate to proper range and dont get me started on the transmission slipping hope that some one in your company does something about these issues before someone gets seriously hurt you may end up in court fix them before some one gets hurt. . . . All this in motion. Street and highway. Documentation yes the whole car is documentation.
My airbag light on the dash is flashing. Indicating that the airbag system maybe faulty Nissan wants $120. For a diagnostic test of the system. This car is a 2009 Murano and only 47,000. Miles no accident or anything to cause the light to go on. In all my years and cars I have never had a airbag light go on for no reason.
Car loses power while driving. Codes p1700 and c1210 pop up in computer. No one can tell me what is wrong. Airbag light is on. No one can turn it off or tell me if it will work.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that while stationary and driving various speeds, the air bag light illuminated. Gerald Nissan of north aurora, illinois was made aware of the failure and stated that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. Passenger airbag light blinks constantly.
Tl the contact owns a 2011 Nissan Murano. While driving unknown speeds, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to Nissan of melbourne (440 s harbor city blvd, melbourne, FL 32901, (321) 723-2941) where it was diagnosed with a passenger air bag sensor malfunction. The contact stated that the air bag sensor in the passenger seat and the diagnostic module needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The contact stated that he purchased a Nissan gold standard warranty and was informed by the dealer that the warranty would not cover the repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened in regards to the extended warranty that was purchased. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
After having my 35 lb dog sit in the passenger seat the air bag light starts flashing I have had it checked out and reset several times. This seems to happen after the next time I drive the car not immediately. I was advised that it is the OCS sensors and if it happen again it should be replaced to the tune of $4,000. The dealer checked for a recall notice and I was told there was none. This is absolutely an unsafe condition for any passenger in my vehicle. Everything is functioning for now, but I think this should be a Nissan responsibility. There are only 54,500 miles on this car.
Airbag light continues to flash, and horn stopped working.
The contact owns a 2009 Nissan Murano. The contact had to pump the brake pedal numerous times as it traveled to the floorboard. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the brake master cylinder needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic who replaced the brake master cylinder. In addition, the air bag indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the occupant sensor unit failed. The vehicle was also taken to a dealer (tony Nissan, 94-1299 ka uka blvd, waipahu, hi 96797, (808) 680-7150) for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign numbers: 08v521000 (air bags, electrical system) and 08v066000 (air bags). The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was not available.
The air bag light is on for no reason. The brakes go to the floor every now and then for now reason when applying the brakes slowly. When is happens it takes a while to stop.
