Takata recall. The dealership said that my car is not under recall but my air bag sensor light keeps flashing and my passenger side airbag sensor says that this if off. I have tried turning the car on and off, buckling the seatbelt as per instructions. Light for sensor will not go off when driving, stationary, or idling.

Passenger side airbag stops detecting adult passenger, was recalled by Nissan in 2016 and system was reprogramed, it's now may 2017 and the problem has started again. Will need to contact Nissan for repairs. Also when driving there is an extreme glare from the back side of the hood which blinds and disorients when driving towards the sun, nearly wreaked car because I could not see for a few seconds. This happens all year when sun shines.

We have repeatedly complined to our dealer regarding the passenger side air bag not activating with a passenger in the seat. It does not occur all of the time, and will usually engage within 5 miles of driving. I just had the dealer look at it again and requested that the sensor be replaced. They can't recreate our issue after having the car for 4 days, so they replaced nothing and gave me the car back. I am completely frustrated at their lack of concern over what I consider to be a safety failure. We have had the issue since we bought the car in April 2016.
Had a recall on passenger side airbag. The light stays on when a passenger is present. We took it in to have it fixed according to the recall . It worked for a while and started doing the same issues. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Again we asked them to take a look at it . What they told us to wiggle around on the seat, which is stupid. It's still not fixed. This is a safety issue and we want it fix. Not happy about this. Is it a software problem?.
Passenger side airbag stays off ,regardless if someone is seating on passenger side. Sometimes it stays off for 10, 15, or 30 minutes, as if the sensor doesn't seem to activate. At first we thought it was just us doing something wrong ,cause it doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes it works and then some days it doesn't. It happens when driving or first starting the vehicle. We called where we bought the car and told us our car was not included in the recall, but they will look into it,since we just purchased this car in October 2015.
Exiting a highway and taking ramp to enter an avenue, driver lost control of the car turning right at intersection. Front left tire hit the curve side and car rolled over 2 full rolls. Driver and passenger had seat bells on. Car body took strong hits on both sides, posts between side windowsroof, windshield frame, hood. Seat bells never locked down during roll over and none of the airbags deployed. Driver and passenger had head, knees and back injuries. It would be expected the seat bells to lock down and at least the side airbags to deployed. Pictures available at your request.

There was no incident. But . . . . . . Nissan has a recall on several vehicles for the airbag sensor on the passenger side airbag not working - including the 2009 Muranos. They said my VIN does not match up on the recall - so they will not fix it. Even though they haved recalled many vehicles for the exact same thing including the 2009 Murano. I would think this is a major safety concern and hope you guys can help enforce a recall on this.
Passenger side airbag won't turn on.
The contact owned a 2004 Nissan Murano. While driving approximately 20 mph, another vehicle crashed into the front passenger side of the contact's vehicle. The passenger side air bag exploded and metal shards of shrapnel violently emitted from the air bag. The contact also noticed an overpowering odor similar to gun powder, which caused her to have breathing problems. The contact was able to exit the vehicle, but required medical attention. The contact was diagnosed with permanent lung damage as a result of breathing in the chemicals from the air bag, in addition to fractured ribs. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. A police report was filed. The failure mileage was 75,000. . . . . Updated 08/11/16.

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that while driving at low speeds over a bump, the sun visor would fall down without assistance. The sun visor would remain in an upward position when secured with velcro straps. In addition, the passenger side air bag sensor would not function. While dispensing fuel the automatic nozzle clicked off continuously. There was a recall under NHTSA campaign id number 06v003000 (fuel system, gasoline:storage:tank assembly). The VIN was not included in the recall. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000.
2009 Nissan Murano concerns with side airbags. Consumer states that they are trying to figure out if their vehicle is included in the side airbag recall.
I ran off the left side of a mountain road hitting a large tree with the driver's door, then continued down the hill another ~20 feet slamming into a boulder. When I hit the tree, the driver's door window broke as well as the driver's side rear door. The door was jammed shut. The Nissan was equipped with front side impact airbags and both front and rear head protection airbags. None were deployed. When I hit the boulder, the front passenger airbag deployed, but the driver's front airbag failed to deploy. The pre-tensioner on the driver's seatbelt did not latch resulting in me hitting my upper chest and lower jaw on the steering wheel since the airbag did not deploy. The fuel cut-off device also failed to activate and shut off the engine. After almost a minute, I turned off the engine with the key. I had been knocked unconscious for several seconds. The 2004 Nissan Murano sustained over $25,000 in damage which resulted in it being totaled by my insurance company. The airbag light would illuminate briefly when starting the car prior to the accident. So there was no indication of an airbag malfunction. There was substantial damage to the driver's side of the vehicle as well as the front and undercarriage. My injuries were limited to bruises to my chest and lower jaw. The accident also greatly aggravated a prior injury to my upper back. When I went to go remove my personal belongings from the vehicle, I found that the jack, mounted in the rear floor had come completely out.
