My wife had bought a new 2025 Nissan Murano two days earlier for our 28th wedding anniversary. We were rear-ended at a high rate of speed and pushed into a parking lot and went through a chain link fence and hit 3 parked cars. The front end was also at a high rate of speed. My wife hit her head on the dash with no dash airbag deployment and my steering wheel airbag did not deploy. This caused my wife and I to have broken backs I had l2 fracture and immediate fusion with titanium pins and rods. Wife had l1 fracture front and back. I was airlifted to trauma center and my wife air was not there and they took her by ambulance to trauma center. This is a defect from factory that needs a recall and don't sell this 2025 Nissan Murano until recall has fixed the issue.
Service air bag light on dash is blinking non stop, in addition the "passenger airbag" light below the radio controls is always showing "off" regardless of having a passenger in the seat. After getting the data read via mechanic the issue is pointing towards bad communication from the airbag control module and the OCS being bad. This should be a recall. As the repairs can cost easily over 2000 per Nissan dealer and online forums.

The passenger airbag warning light illuminated and remains on. A Nissan dealer diagnosed the issue as a failure of the occupant classification system sensor in the passenger seat. This causes the airbag system to be disabled and could prevent deployment in a crash. I was informed that my 2011 Murano is not included in Nissan’s previous airbag/OCS recalls (such as 16v244), even thought the symptoms appear identical. Repair requires replacement or reprogramming of the seat/OCS components and is very expensive ($2000-$7000). This is a critical safety issue because the passenger airbag may not function at all. Based on similar complaints from other 2011 Murano owners, this my represent a widespread defect that warrants investigation and a recall. Safety needs to be a priority. We were originally told to reset the light by a series of steps involving turning the car on and off. The process worked on a previous incident but now the light remains solid red and reset does not work.

My vehicle stop on the highway. Jut cut off out of nowhere. And has been cutting off and losing power. I replaced the battery which I thought was the problem. Then I thought it was the alternator so I took it to Nissan to have a diagnostic and they said it was not and that no codes came up that a positive battery cable had to be replaced. I was charged 342 for a diagnostic and to change a cable. They told me to pick up my vehicle and got home it was still cutting off. I took it to o'reilly they said it was the alternator. Nissan just took my money. Also they printed out a list of other problems that were not addressed or need be repair on this vehicle that I purchased at 118,000 miles. I dont even drive this vehicle to have all these part to have yo be replaced. The powers steering is leaking and the air bag and seat belt light appears to stay on.

The airbag warning indicator lit up on my nisan Murano dash board. This is safety concern for me and my family. When I took my vehicle to Nissan dealer to have it checked, they said there was a recall on it which expired. I bought this vehicle in 2021. I did not get any recall notice. The cost to address the issue per dealers estimate is more than $4,000. 00. Why is nisan refusing to address this?.

The safety issue is with a 2014 Nissan Murano. April 22, 2024, the air bag light is on steady, so the vehicle was taken to a Nissan dealer to determine the repairs that are necessary. The Nissan dealer determined the battery charge was low and recharged the battery. The air bag light went off afterwards for 6 months. Then on 1-27-25, the Nissan Murano was again brought to the Nissan dealer to determine why the air bag light was on. The technician diagnostic scan for codes found code b00a0 stored, in airbag for occupant detection system error. In plain terms, the seat cushion pressure sensor is defective. The dealer will only do the repair if they replace the entire passenger seat at a cost that is more than $3,700. From my research, at Nissan parts, that pressure sensor costs $39. 02. Part occupant sensor - Nissan (98853-3ja0a). The auto insurance will not cover this repair. This is a serious safety issue, where there is a possibility that the air bag could deploy unexpectedly causing serious injury to the passenger, deploy when a child is in the passenger seat, or not deploy at all in an accident. Searching for repair options on the web, I have found many forums and instances that describe the same problem. This should be a manufacturer recall.
Dashboard light started flashing indicating airbag error. Light indicating passenger airbag inoperative on center stack illuminated. Dealership indicated error code b1018 per esm diagnostic procedure and recommended replacing entire passenger side seat cushion and retesting. Uncertain if passenger side airbag sensor will prevent driver's airbag from deploying in accident.
The contact owns a 2014 nisan mulano. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the passenger-side air warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the passenger-side occupancy sensor. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to technical service bulletin ntb16-052 the manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 30,000.
The air bag light started blinking. We took the car to our local nisan dealership. We had to pay $220. 77 just to have them look at it. They said there was an occupant sensor unit malfunction and it needed the bottom seat pad replaced. We were then told “that it is discontinued “! we are left with an air bag that doesn’t work, and a blinking air bag warning sign that constantly reminds us of the danger we are in. I am frightened to death to drive the car and angry that it cost $220. 77 for nothing. When I asked what I could do - they said “you can trade it in and buy a new nisan”! we will never buy another nisan!! can you help?.
We had an accident on January 4. We were rear ended and pushed it to the vehicle in front of us. The truck that hit us was going about 65 miles an hour. Our vehicle is totaled. No air bags deployed and my seat did not engage.

Blinking airbag sign in my Nissan Murano since week. Reset did not work by mechanic. .
Passenger seat sensor light for air bag stays lit, flashing 1 steady and 5 bursts. Shows airbag off even with adult sitting in passenger seat.
I purchased 2012 Nissan Murano in Jul 2012. Recently the airbag light is on and keeps flashing when start the car. It happened since 6 months ago. I sent my car to the local Nissan dealer, they charged me $149 diagnostic fee + $1500 to replace the airbag diag unit under the center console. After the replacement, the airbag light is still on and flashing. My car cannot pass the annual inspection because of the airbag light. It's a big safety concern. The dealer told me I need to get the passenger seat bottom sensor replaced, the pars has been discontinued. I am very surprised the airbag is related safety issue, why Nissan discontinued the parts? and I google this issue, many Nissan car owners have the same airbag light issue. This is the most common issue and related to the customer safety. Nissan should recall it. I paid more than $1500 dollar, cannot get my problem fixed. It's unacceptable!.

Airbags have malfunctioned. I was told the whole passenger seat needed to be replaced which costs more than the car is worth. No safety recall for this year. I know I’m not the only one with this issue.
While traveling experiences slight vibration in which passenger side tire pulled oncming lane, nonemergency brakes were applied not notification of crossing outside of lane, passenger side tire blew out, causing to hit a culvert and all airbags deployed with passenger air bag off. The vehicle would not start.
The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that while driving at 30 mph, while the brake pedal was depressed, it floored, and the vehicle failed to stop. Additionally, another vehicle hit the contact's vehicle on the driver's side; however, the airbags failed to deploy. The contact and her son were injured and received medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to an auto repair shop. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number 19v807000 (service brakes, hydraulics). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,738.
The dash above the glove compartment has developed a crack from some unknown reason. As this crack appeared the air bag warning signal began flashing. I called Nissan to let them know what had happened with the dash cracking and the airbag warning, and that this was a safety issue that has occurred through no fault of mine. They told me that there was no recall on the car and I was responsible. The dash should not just crack ! and if the airbag system is compromised due to this cracking I feel Nissan should be responsible to make the necessary repairs! the car has less than 60,000 miles on it and is under a roof when not being driven.

I was in a broadside collision. The front end of my car collided with the side of another car. I was going approximately 30-35 mph at time of impact. I had my seat belt on. The airbags failed to deploy and seat belt did not lock resulting in being thrown forward and impacting the steering wheel. The car sustained severe frontal damage and is a total loss from the insurance company. The car has been well maintained and was serviced by Nissan exclusively. I had no warning lights on prior to the accident occurring.
Nissan has a voluntary recall for faulty air bag sensors on 2009 Nissan Murano but when you take it in they say your VIN is not included. This is fraud because they know that all Muranos from 2009 and other years have a faulty sensor in the passenger seat and the air bags will not deploy. They lie because the fix is a new seat cushion which is expensive. They try to charge owners $5000 to repair a safety issue that is their responsibility. There are many, many complaints for this issue and many people are driving around without airbags because of Nissan’s dereliction. How many people will die??.
Passenger detection sensor went out so air bags would not deploy.
The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the air bag warning light had remained illuminated. The vehicle was examined by an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the air bag control module was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. Also, while operating the vehicle the tire pressure monitoring system warning light would randomly activated although the tire air pressures were normal. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 90,000.
In reference to my 2009 Murano, I like to bring my concern/complaint into your attention that since Jan 07, 2023, my Murano's airbag light is blinking. On Jan. 16, 2023, I took my SUV to acme Nissan dealer situated at 2050 highway 130, south brunswick, NJ. 08852 for checkup and repair. Dealer diagnosed airbag issue code b1018 and advised "in control unit k8820-1al0a and 873a2-3z53a seat sensor are bad and need to be replaced. Dealer mentioned that they cannot replace these part/sensors, because they are not available thru Nissan anymore. Dealer also tried to get these parts from the aftermarket dealer. But these parts are also not available in aftermarket. Not functioning of airbags is a big-time safety issue. I contacted Nissan customer service support and opened the case (48254432). But some reason they are not helping me at all in resolving this safety issue. Their answer is, they cannot do anything for this issue. While going through the Nissan forum, I noticed that this safety issue is common in Nissan Murano. This wonders that why Nissan have not issued any recall on this airbag safety issues. Are they going to issue the recall after someone die in the accident because of this airbag issues. Now I cannot even trade my SUV because of this safety issue. Now I am too afraid to drive my 2009 Murano. I love my Murano so much it runs like a new and I am not in the position to buy a new Murano at this time. I would really appreciate if you can request Nissan to rectify this issue as soon as possible.
The front passenger seat occupant warning light was flashing. I took the vehicle to the Nissan dealership was charged $185 dollars and was told the front seat occupancy-classification sensor (OCS), needed to be replaced and it would cost me 0ver $5,900 dollars. The vehicle only has 22k miles.
The icon for the passenger airbags are flashing on my vehicle dashboard about two months ago (11/2022). Back in 2013 my vehicle was in a crash with substantial front end damage…no other vehicle was involved. Also the airbags in front row seats did not deploy. I’m planning on taking in my vehicle to get it checked out and tuned. Any guidance from NHTSA is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
2012 Nissan Murano. Airbag red light always blinking plus passenger seat airbag says it’s “off”. Loads of similar complaints on web sites. Took to annapolis nilsson on riva road today. They were very aware of issue but said there is no recall. So both airbags will not inflate, not just passenger seat. Web complaints confirm this with actual accidents and there is no recall? dealership said none of the parts including seat are available any more(I would guess because they all failed) but were told if we found the parts and seat at a used parts place then the dealership would put in for a cost but there would not be any warranty! really? there should be a recall on this issue, how can we get this?.
I have a 95 yrs. Old mother who I transport to appointments etc. And I am not feeling safe in our 2012 Nissan Murano due to the airbag malfunctioning. I have read numerous reports that state if there was ever an accident with these airbags that they would not potentially work or deploy and also that they could possibly release for just any reason at all and these two reasons alone are enough to know that this is a safety hazard and could cost both my mother and myself, our lives. I have read many complaints regarding these same airbags located on the passenger side of our vehicle. I am asking that this problem be resolved immediately because it is very dangerous and disturbing. Please contact me and my mother at 937-380-7064.
The passenger airbag is not working and both front panel and airbag lights are blinking. It's indicating the airbag is not working.
Airbag light comes on indicating a problem. After a quick investigation of this problem it becomes evident that it’s very common and Nissan hasn’t admitted any problem . The cost to fix this is half the value of the car!!.
