1 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2007 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 07/18/2025

Passenger air bag sensor. This is blinking on my dash. I looked it up in the manual. It stated that the airbag may not deploy in an accident. I also got a recall notice for this same problem and called the dealer. They said that my VIN was not included in the recall even though I had the same make, model and year and the same problem. I had a problem with this when the vehicle was new, they fixed it. They wanted two hundred dollars to look at it. Why is this safety problem in my vehicle not included?.

2 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2018 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 09/13/2021

Dtc b00a0-00 (occupant detection sensor unit) is stored and OCS zero point reset cannot be performed (continued on the next page) red airbag warning came on located in dash when no passenger in seat but when a passenger is in seat it goes off however regardless the airbag reports that it is turned off due to the OCS cannot complete it’s scan. This puts all passengers at safety risk and they will not deploy if there is an accident. Has been verified by outside mechanic and have an appointment with Nissan dealership Monday however they will not tell me if it is covered under powertrain warranty even though it is within the mile/time period. I’ve been told 2x that airbags are not covered but the warranty clearly states it includes airbags and electrical components.

4 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2017 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 10/20/2017

I purchased a new 2017. 5 Nissan Murano oct 14 2017 one week later the srs light comes light comes on while driving and stays on. After three trips back and multiple parts replaced including sensor for seatbelt connector that was not attached properly and the replacement of the srs system. Today 97 days later I was told by my local Nissan dealership that the vehicle was indeed defective at time of purchase. The factory had not connected the harness that connects to the airbags which was causing my srs light to come on continuously. I am very sad and upset that this has happened to me and I am in process of filing a claim with the Nissan corporation consumer department for a buy back of my vehicle.

9 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2009 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 09/06/2015

I have a 2009 Nissan Murano that in my opinion has a very dangerous safety flaw. A small sensor in the passenger seat has decided not to function properly for no apparent reason(the air bag sensor light on the dash just began to blink back on 9/6/15, I reset it several times but it just continued turning back on) that sensor now causes for neither airbag (passenger or drivers seat) to work in case of an accident. I took the car to the dealer on 10/17/15 and they gave me a quote that is $ 3568 plus labor for repair, I complained to Nissan consumer affairs and all they could do is give a 50% discount for the repair. I feel that Nissan should repair this as it is a great safety flaw of the vehicle, my vehicle is not safe in case of an accident as neither the driver or passenger airbag will function if I am in an accident.

10 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2003 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 10/20/2014

I was driving low speed at school zone when driver and passenger air bags deployed for no reason. There was no impact, collision or accident in any way. To my own amusement this is the second time that air bags deploy like this. Both cases are very similar if not exactly the same (driving at low speed and. . . Poof!). I live in the tropics where it's hot and humid. I've heard some cars are being recalled for this but of course, not mine. I asked Nissan if I should worry about these airbags to deploy because as I mentioned before both curtains and seats were deployed the same way, and they told me not to worry because sensor was already "off" and there was no way this could happen. Well. . . Here I am, making sure the whole world knows about this vehicle incident and most importantly. . . Don't buy Nissan, they are not reliable nor costumer friendly. Basically you are on your own, they don't care and don't want to hear about it. So disappointed. I am so lucky to be unharmed with all of this. . . Twice! what if I was on a highway???? I went to police and made report, just like the first time. Note: the first incident was in February 2014, 8 months ago. I just hope there isn't any other air bag waiting to deploy in this car, I still haven't overcome the previous shocks. Terrible experience.

14 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2009 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 12/03/2010

I was driving last night and my air bag sensor started blinking in the dash for no apparent reason. Less then 6 months ago I had the same issue. I contacted the dealership and Nissan consumer affairs to inform them of the problem. They had my car for almost a month and I thought it had been fixed. This is the second time for this issue to occur. I do not in anyway feel safe in this car. It goes back to the dealership to be repaired again and I want it permanently fixed. I don't know the equipment details so you'll have to check with Nissan. I had to put something in order to proceed with complaint.

15 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2005 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 11/27/2007

11/27/07 problem: air bag light flashing. (two occurrences) diagnostic conducted 11/25/07 and 11/27/07. At the first service dealer could not determine diagnostic codes and I was asked to bring vehicle in 11/27/07 a complete diagnostic was conducted. According to dealership diagnostic codes the passenger side seat needs to be replaced with costs exceeding $1000. The seats, thus far appear to be in tack. What does seat cushion have to do with airbag or its sensor? the vehicle is less than years 2 â½ years new with approx. 51,000 miles. Concerns: vehicle safety and proper deployment of airbags. I was informed by dealership that this is common in Muranos and pathfinders. If so, why hasn't there been a recall w/o costs to consumer. After reviewing similar complaints submitted by other consumers, it appears to me that safety concerns exists including but not limited to the risks of injury to a passenger. In addition, the actual cause and final repair resolution remains unknown and unresolved. (see other consumer complaint no. 10208537) it is not a coincidence that my vehicle's airbag indicator failed around the same mileage as the other. Who is to say that the airbag will not malfunction in case of accident? (please also see consumer complaint no 10199625 & c. C. No. 10196794).

16 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2005 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 06/05/2007

Tested and found intermittent short in driver side air bag. Replaced on June 7, 2007. Problem recurred on June 8, 2007. Upon bringing vehicle to dealership, they indicated that they couldn't find anything wrong and I should bring the vehicle in without turning it off if light starts flashing again.

17 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2005 Nissan Murano

18 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2005 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 02/20/2006

I purchased my 2005 Nissan Murano in Nov 2005. On Feb 24, 2006, I brought the vehicle in to the dealer because the airbag light was flashing. They "erased all dtc's and retested the system. " in March 2006, I returned with the same problem. At that time, they replaced the driver airbag module, spiral cable, and diagnostic sensor. It was ok for a year, but then started flashing again. I took it back on oct. 12, 2007. They removed and replaced the driver side airbag module (again). Three days later, it started flashing again. I wasn't able to take it in again until March 21, 2008. At that time, they replaced the apiral cable (again) and informed me that it might not be fixed but, according to Nissan protocol, that's all they could do. If it starts flashing again, they can replace the next part. In the meantime, I have no more of an idea today that my vehicle is safe than I have ever had. Even if I take it in a 5th or 6th time, how can I be sure it will work if and when I need it? in the very beginning, they did replace the whole unit, and that didn't work. I no longer have confidence in Nissan's safety protocols.
