Nissan Pathfinder owners have reported 3 problems related to fuel injection (under the gasoline fuel system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Nissan Pathfinder based on all problems reported for the Pathfinder.

1 Fuel Injection problem of the 1997 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 02/15/2004

The car would start at high altitude and cold temperatures again. Second time this winter. A SUV is designed to go into these conditions. For the car to fail is totally unacceptable.

2 Fuel Injection problem of the 1997 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 03/04/2001

Engine will not start at high altitudes and cold outside air temps. Potentially serious if vehicle is in an isolated area and driver is stranded. It's ludicrous to make a 4x4 for that can get you to places from which you might not be able to return. It's highly conceivable you could have to spend the night in your car during a nasty winter storm if you went snowshoeing for the day and were unable to start the car upon your return. I am told Nissan is aware of the problem but fights customers tooth and nail to do anything about it.

3 Fuel Injection problem of the 1996 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 01/04/2001

Will not start at high altitude/ low ambient temperature.
