Tl the contact owns a 2019 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that at start-up the check engine warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to pinnacle Nissan (7601 e frank lloyd wright blvd, scottsdale, az 85260) where the mechanic informed him that he could smell fuel coming from the vehicle and that the issue was due to a loose gas cap. Upon return of the vehicle, the contact continued to smell a fuel odor coming from the vehicle and decided to buy a new gas cap. The contact then stated that while his wife was driving on the highway at an unknown speed, his wife and the other occupants in the vehicle all received headaches due to the strong fuel odor coming from the vehicle. A few days later the contact took the vehicle to flagstaff Nissan (4960 e marketplace dr, flagstaff, az 86004) where he was informed that fuel was leaking from the fuel tank. The contact was informed that the fuel tank, the fuel o ring, and other parts in and around the gas tank needed to be replaced. The vehicle remained in the possession of the dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a case number. The contact was informed that he would receive a call back and had yet to hear from the manufacturer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.

I had transmission problems, the transmission started vibrating and then would not move, I took to local transmission shop, they advised there was a problem in the radiator causing damage to transmission, I took to Nissan dealer they advised that Nissan had extended the warranty to 80,000 miles due to the radiator, however Nissan had not sent any information regarding a problem are extending the warranty. If I had known there was a problem with radiator, I would have had it checked prior to the 80,000 miles. Then Nissan sends letter that they are extending warranty to 100,000 miles with a 3,000 dollar deductible. If I had received a letter earlier from Nissan about the problem, I would have taken the Nissan to a dealer prior to the 80,000 miles. At times the transmission would stall out when making a turn, which could have caused a serious accident; fortunately there were no on coming traffic. The car also has a fuel gauge which gives a false reading at all times to the actual amount of fuel in the tank due to a faulty sending unit. So now I am stuck with a bill for 3,000 dollars. I feel Nissan was negligent in not advising their customers of the problem earlier. The dealer then called me and told me that the timing chain was worn and needed to be replaced at a cost of 2,000 dollars. My Nissan has less than 100,000 miles and the radiator, transmission and timing chain are faulty, and Nissan should cover these charges.

The fuel system gauge will not register the amount of gas in tank. After fueling, the warning light still appears and don't go off and it's a big inconvenience for as driving an not knowing if your going to run out of gas. Very disappointed with the Nissan products simply because there are two many problems going on with this particular vehicle and cannot get anybody help for mistakes they made. The whole vehicle need to be recalled because trying to replaced all these problems are very expensive. Wish I would have know of all the problems before I purchased it.

Transmission stutter during acceleration due to radiator fluid leaking into transmission. Fuel gauge gives false readings at all times to the actual amount of fuel in tank due to faulty sending unit.
I received a warranty notification for my '06 Nissan Pathfinder stating that model year 2005-2008 Pathfinder vehicles, an issue with the fuel sending unit may cause the fuel gauge to inaccurately display the amount of fuel in the fuel tank. I had been experiencing this problem for a while just hadn't had the funds to fix it. Nissan is extending your vehicle's new vehicle limited warranty as it applies to the fuel gauge sending unit from 36 months / 36,000 miles to 72 months 72,000 miles. After placing the call on Friday Dec. 3, 2010 to romeo #41550 informed me to go get a vehicle diagnostic performed on my car. Went to Nissan south paid $107. 48 they determined that it was indeed the fuel gauge sender unit tech found code p0463. The advisor muhammad stated that my reference number was forwarded to a regional specialist christy ferreda ext. 1658 for further review. I left several messages to find out the status and on 12/8/10 4:10 pm melissa ext. 1658 from Nissan called me back and stated that it was still being reviewed and she would get back in touch with me Friday or Monday and that she had other customer's and that's why she can't answer her phone. She also stated that it wasn't really a recall it was just an extension of the warranty. While I was having the car checked they also replaced a ecm relay on recall that I didn't even know about. Very unhappy with my Nissan Pathfinder and all of the many recalls and the servicethat I am receiving is terrible. As I stated to mellisa I am expecting for them to replace that part and reimburse me for the $107. 48 because they know about there defective part and it is the right thing to do .
I received a recall letter from Nissan on November 23, 2010 stating the fuel sending unit may cause the fuel gauge to inaccurately display the amount of fuel in the tank, which it did, but when I took my car to the Nissan dealer to honor, they told my that I had to call corporate, called corporate and they gave me a file number and told me that my car was not in warranty for this recall. This problem has been going on for about 2 years now and now they will not honor there own recall.

fuel sending unit failure. Incident outline:
I was driving on the 2 lane portion of the trans-canada highway #1 west of chilliwack and had fueled up about two hours earlier. I watched the fuel gauge, mpg and dte readings to roughly estimate the amount of fuel remaining and the range to be expected from the remaining fuel, when the gauges were actually working for a brief time. The fuel gauge had seemingly properly shown the dte and fuel level but at +/- 5/8 of a tank it dropped to zero and the dte readings went flat line. This has become a usual situation with the fuel gauge issue and my estimates were that I had sufficient fuel to reach the next gas station pullout from the freeway but I was terribly wrong. I was pulling a trailer and had my wife, son and his friend with me returning from a weekend at our cabin. We were traveling @ +/- 60 mph in the fast lane as there was slower traffic in the curb lane when the truck?s engine stopped, I was out of fuel! I quickly assessed the options, put my right hand turn signal on and starting easing into the curb lane displacing the vehicle beside me. I was able to maneuver the truck into the curb lane under the momentum it had without incident but not without tremendous stress and 2 near misses with other vehicles. Eventually I coasted onto the shoulder of the highway and came to a stop safely without power. It was extremely close and a scenario I do not want to see played out again. Nissan has declined this request and shown moral contempt for a problem that I have demonstrated through , telephone conversations, images and text.

Fuel gauge sensor shows erroneous amount of fuel in gas tank. Consequence: this could cause the vehicle to run out of gas and stall in traffic, increasing the risk of a crash. This failure is 100% of the time 2005 Nissan Pathfinder xe, Nissan currently have a recall for this sensor on 2006 and 2008, however since a similar issue is present on 2005 they either missed my year or they don't actually know root cause of the problem.
Add gas to the tank the gauge will show empty for a while and then will gradually over one to two days get to the "right" amount in the tank. Tank does not reset show empty when fuel. Eventually reset to correct status the next does. Distance till empty does not reset. I found numerous complaints about this on the internet and the dealer acts like I am the first one to bring this issue to them. This creates a huge safety risk of not knowing what the correct volume is. Many Nissan owners are reporting this issue and nothing is being addressed.

I own a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. At approximately 46000 miles the fuel gauge began acting erratically and I got a check engine light. I took it to the dealer and diagnostics showed code p0463 which indicated a fuel sensor sending unit failure. I talked to the service technician about it and he stated this is a very common problem with my model year, in fact there has been recall on previous models however my VIN was not covered. I had to pay 473$ to get it fixed in order to pass emissions testing. I feel this is a safety issue as without knowing the amount of gas in the fuel tank my wife and kids could easily become stranded.
Fuel gauge does not register correct amount of fuel. When I fill the tank it will show empty or some other incorrect amount. Also, the dte display is flashing solid lines and the check engine light is on. After driving the gauge sometimes starts to work properly but it always malfunctions at some point. Check engine light goes out sometimes, but comes back on when fuel level gets low.
The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the fuel sending unit failed and would not register the accurate amount of fuel that was actually in the vehicle. The failure caused the check engine warning light to illuminate. The fuel tank would read full when it was actually empty or low on fuel. The failure began two years ago. The dealer advised the contact that his VIN was not included in any recalls. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. No repairs were performed. The current mileage was 142,034. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.
The gas gauge of my 2006 Nissan Pathfinder will not register a correct amount and the ses light comes on after I fill the tank. Then the gauge drops to 0 and the lights start to flash that there is no gas. After awhile the gas gauge fluctuates, but it will not return to full and it is impossible to tell how much gas there is in the car.
2006 Pathfinder fuel cell sensor stop working one month after purchase. Vehicle warranty cover was 85 miles over vehicle warranty. Manufacture dealer quoted me repair cost of $600. 00 see on the web, other owner of 2006 Nissan Pathfinder have the same complaint. Vehicle display empty gas tank when full. Display half tank, 1/4, 3/4. Driver never knows what amount of gas is in the gas tank. Auto could run out of fuel in heavy traffic.
I am having a problem with my fuel gauge for my 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. The gauge on my dash board does not accurately reflect the amount of fuel that is in the fuel tank. No matter if the tank is full or not the gauge reads empty 99% of the time. Occasionally the gauge will read as if there is fuel but this happens very rarely. Because of this defect I have run out of fuel on a number of occasions and have lost control of my vehicle because of the loss of power. The problem has been around for about 20k miles. Currently I am at about 88k miles on my Pathfinder and because of the miles I do not qualify for the extended warranty that I just found out about, which caps the miles at 72k.
Have had problems with check engine light since purchasing the car. Brought to dealer several time they said gas cap was loose after they tighten the gas cap the light came back on they said it was a gross evap leak then replaced a valve or sensor at the gas tank. The problem came back and with a little internet research I found there is a technical service bulletin ntb07-069a. The problem is the fuel gauge will read different I can have a full tank and it says 1/4 tank also anytime the car gets below 1/2 tank the check engine light comes on. Brought to the dealer and they replaced a sensor in the fuel and it seems to be fixed. They wanted to replace the fuel pump and sensor for close to $600 the sensor was around $300.
