1 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 2011 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 11/01/2016

I just paid my van off when I started having engine issues. At 120,000 codes read p1701 tcm wiring , p0746 pressure control solenoid , p1778 step motor , p0868 pressure control module . Is it the transmission the mechanic doesnt want to touch it just wants to change the tranny . I can not afford this. I am single mom is there not someone that can rebuild them properly ???? I bought a Nissan because I thought it would last longer. I have not driven the van in 6 months its a total loss if I spend the money and it happens again then I am putting good money after bad. It's not worth anything as a down payment if I have to tow it in. Has anyone got to the bottom of this??? how I found out is that I turned onto a busy street pushed the gas it wouldnt go. The car behind me had to drive upon the curve accident narrowly avoided. This sucks.

2 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 2012 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 11/13/2015

I bought this vehicle not knowing this vehicle had prior owner trans problem with dealer. At about a month to two month after I bought this vehicle at 68300 in the busy California traffic the vehicle stalled on me foot on the gas but trans is not moving. This is the diagnosis: doc codes p0725 engine speed * p0746 pic solienoid a * p0776 pic solenoid b * p0868 fluid pressure low * p1701 tcm. * p1722 vehicle speed signal and * p1778 step motor in transmission cvt trans burnt replacement was recommended at a cost $ 3110,81 and labor cost $ 1619,00 . Trans was done by August 14 2014 in November 2015 the same thing again too many people are having the same problem with this trans in cars an vans the dealer is doing nothing about it. Imagine 3 times same vehicle and it' under 70,000 miles.

3 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 2005 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 09/06/2006

The first failure was a complete loss of all electrical power on the vehicle while driving and in traffic. This required a walk home and tow of the vehicle. It would start with a jump but then shortly after would completely die. The dealer diagnosed this as an alternator failure and replaced the alternator. The second failure is a periodic slipping of the transmission out of gear. The first occurance felt like slipping in snow then grabbing. We called the service department and they told us if there was a problem with the transmission an error light would appear on the dash. The second occurance 2 weeks later was a complete loss of accelearation when pulling into traffic. The vehicle was pulled to the side of the road where it felt as if it was in neutral with engine reving but no power to wheels. We verified the shift was in d and the dash indicator said "d". We looked for any trouble lights on the dash but saw none. We turned the vehicle off once and restarted with the same results. We turned the vehicle off a second time and restarted. This time the transmission engaged and the vehicle drove normally. We took the vehicle to the dealer where they test drove it and found no problem. They also found no error codes in the computer. The dealer is now waiting for technical direciton from Nissan and I am waiting for a return call from a Nissan consumer affairs regional specialist.

4 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 2004 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 08/21/2006

A loud ticking sound when starting up cold for about 5 minutes before it warms up. We reported this a few months ago and were told that it was the variable timing chain, then were told no it's normal, then it's the vtc, no the engineer says it's normal. They are refusing to repair. It is not a normal sound.

5 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 2004 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 08/02/2004

The transmission slipped on three occasions. First time it failed to accelerate from a stop. I had to almost floor the gas pedal before it began to move. It finally corrected itself after a couple miles. The second event, I was on the highway, the vehicle accelerated well, but when the pedal was released, the engine rpms dropped to idle, I was doing 60 mph. This happened the whole trip, after it was parked for a few minutes I restarted it . The drive home was uneventful. The third event was the same as the first, the transmission slipped as though there was no fluid in it. I brought it into the dealer and they could not duplicate the problem, and told me if it happens again to go to the closest dealer while the problem was happening. After reading similar complaints on this website, there is a major problem with this model that needs to be addressed before someone gets killed.

6 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem of the 2004 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 05/06/2004

Car was started and backed into street, upon shifting to drive, the car wouldl not accelerate. Feels like the transmission is stuck in third gear. Very difficult to get the car to move out of traffic. Car was then parked. Upon shutdown and restart, transmission functioned normally. Taken to the dealer on may 12, with copies of messages from edmunds. Com from other owners with the same problem and suggestion to replace tcm. Because dealer could not duplicate the problem they will not replace anything.
