2 Car Stall problem of the 2007 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 01/27/2016

While taking my son to school on 1-27-2016, my wife called me and said her car just quit and won't start. Luckily I was off work that day and was able to tow the minivan home. Thinking it was a minor issue we took it to a mechanic for repair. I expected them to change a fuel filter or maybe a fuel pump but I was shocked to hear that the timing chain had broken and is going to need major repair. At only 85000 miles this should not be an area of concern. After some research I've found many lawsuits against Nissan regarding this issue. Nissan knew about the problem but kept installing the faulty components. They have not issued any recalls and won't do anything to remedy the problem, even when I spent an extra 3500 dollars for the extended warranty. I realize there is naturally going to be problems with vehicle, but something of this magnitude is not what your thinking about with under 100,000 miles. For Nissan to be aware of the problem and not address or correct the fault is shameful. Not only did they not correct the problem, they kept knowingly using the faulty components for years. Our whole society seems to be relegated to cutting corners, at the expense of others, to get ahead; no matter what the consequences are.

3 Car Stall problem of the 2012 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 01/25/2016

Though my vehicle was not subject to a recall I had the same issue as the other vehicles that had been recalled. With 40 miles left to go, according to my gauge, my vehicle stalled in traffic, on two different occasions, while turning left into gas stations. When I presented this issue to a dealer and to Nissan America I was told my vehicle was not subject to a recall, even though it was for the same problem and required the same repair as the recalled vehicles. I was charged over $300 for reprogramming my computer.

My car had no previous problems as could be seen. I bought it off the lot at 72,000 miles. I stopped in the left hand lane and the car just stalled. I saw black smoke and thought I was overheating but there when I looked it was not. I was at a very busy intersection with my 10 year old daughter in the car. I decided even though it wasn't overheating to take a look at the engine. When I got out under the hood was all orange from fire. It then proceeded to blow up the whole inside and it took about 10-15 mins. For the fire dept. To put the roaring fire out. I thank god we were not inside. I lost the whole entire car.

13 Car Stall problem of the 2004 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 06/01/2008

In December of 2006 we purchased a 2004 Nissan Quest se. The first year was not entirely trouble free, the drivers seat would self adjust while driving. The dealer fixed it no charge. The in December of 07 the trans went out, again the dealer covered it at no charge, gave us a loaner and were done within a week. Except for the inconvenience of not having our van we were fine until now!!! in June of 08 we were going for a Sunday drive and the van just died in the middle of the street. Nothing would work nothing, no power anywhere. We called road side and all they could do was tow us to al piemonte Nissan in melrose park, IL. The following Monday, the dealer calls and tells us the ecu is burnt out, and has some corrosion. It's covered under warranty so no need to far right!!! a week later we finally get a loaner, ok not too bad. Two months go by and we finally have word that we have a date when the part will arrive!!!!! the part gets installed but the van runs like crap "omg you mean they actually tested it"!!!! they now are replacing a cracked distributor, god only knows how that happened!!!! the dealr does not charge us for that, but the van still runs like crap so now they have to replace three of the 6 coils and well we had to pay over $800 bucks for that. Totally not expecting that we had to charge it, putting us in the hole even deeper. You know we haven't spent alot of $ on this car but for a 4 year old car it sure has had alot of major components replaced. The the freaking dealer doesn't test the car, so we leave and the remotes, doors, sunroof, windows don't work. The center counsil is falling apart and they didn't even clean the !@#$% car. I take it back, rip the manager a new one, he gives me a loaner again and I'm back the next day to pick up my van, now they clean it. It's been a few weeks now and the van is fine but I often think what would have happened if it broke down in the middle of the interstate!!!!!.
