Supplemental air bag light is always flashing when vehicle is on. Dealer did diagnostic and said there's a problem with the passenger seat air bag sensor. The only remedy is to replace the passenger seat entirely. If the passenger seat is not replaced, the air bag may not deploy when it should.

My vehicle was recalled for an airbag sensor problem. I brought it in for the repair and now the airbag 'off'' light for the passenger seat is on. I called my dealership and they said that now the airbag light will stay on until a passenger weighing 120 lbs or more sits in the seat. The airbags will not deploy if someone under 120 lbs sits in the seat. . They didn't mention this when I was in for the recall and it seems quite dangerous. The manual indicates there is a problem if the light is still on 10 seconds after starting the car. They told me to disregard that it will now be on until someone over 120 lbs. Sits in the seat. Can this be right? if so they need to tell people that there's no airbag for people under 120lbs. A lot of adults weigh less than 120lbs and I'm sure not many people are aware that they have no airbag protection. Thanks for your consideration.

The contact later received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v244000 (air bags). The failure mileage was not available.

Airbag warning light came on and the passenger airbag warning light is on. The dealer said that the passenger side airbag will not deploy and a new airbag module was needed at a cost of $1,500 and I purchased this car new sept, 2013; also purchasing advantage preferred extended warranty at that time. The dealer advises that warranty does not cover this safety issue.
The passenger air bag sensor light is flashing. The Nissan dealership determined that the airbag sensor is not working and would require a new sensor which cost $2500 to replace. I was told that in the case of an accident the airbag may or may not deploy.
The passenger airbag light, informing that the passenger airbag is off, remains lit even if an adult over 100 lbs is sitting in the seat. Problem is intermittent. Happens while the vehicle is stationary or in movement. The light remaining illuminated means the airbag would not deploy in the event of an accident because it was turned off. We believe a faulty seat sensor or computer system may be at fault. We have only just noticed that this was happening with the vehicle. The car is currently at the dealership, they are not saying it is a known fault and blaming wear and tear--the just turned a year old, however when you search the internet there are several people that complain of this issue. There is no recall for the 2014 Nissan Rogue for this issue.

On Saturday, may 16th heading on the 91 east by bellflower, CA. Frwy I was driving and when a sudden stop I found it hard to make a stop because the brake felt as if it sunk in. I unfortunately hit a truck in front of me. The vehicle did not receive any damage but my Nissan 2013 Rogue did. I took pictures to show the damage. At the time of the accident, I was very concerned because the air bags did not deploy. The vehicle did receive a front impact but the air bags had no reaction to the hit. At the time of the accident I rode with my 3 children ages, 18, 15 and 11 and my fiancé. Prior to this happening I took the vehicle to get it's maintenance and after this happening I was sure that the vehicle felt very different. It was almost as if it would accelerate and the brakes kept sinking in with having a delay in making a full stop. The vehicle is currently in a body shop through my insurance and I do not recall the mileage? this is very concerning and has been ever since receiving the recall letter regarding the possible electrical problem that might set a fire. Please advise/help. Thank you!.

My airbag light started flashing and when I had a passenger riding in the front seat, the airbag sensor would never go to on. This is a huge safety issue being this means the airbag will not deploy- ever- because it does not ever sense someone sitting there. There was a recall of my exact make and model but of course not my VIN#. Now, the state of hawaii will not let me pass my safety inspection- because they are very well of the safety concern of the airbag not deploying. So I take it to the dealership who tells me I have to replace the seat cushion- to the tune of over $2000! I wrote to Nissan corporate who basically told me to shut up and stop complaining. This is a joke & I am certain we will just have to wait for someone to die before Nissan is actually held responsible. Now I have a vehicle that I can no longer drive since my state has deemed it unsafe- or my other option is to pay 1/3 of what the car is worth to fix a problem that is already known & there are 100s of complaints. I hope you guys move this along because I still have to make a car payment on a car I cannot drive, pay over $2000 to replace the whole seat, or pay it off and junk the car, since I cannot sell an unsafe vehicle that won't pass a safety inspection. None of these options are exactly great for me. This is completely unfair to consumers & seems more like a way for Nissan dealerships to increase profits. I hope you move quickly on this before innocent lives are taken by a known faulty airbag sensor. Not to mention, I only have 30 days to either pay the $2000 to fix the problem or to junk my car without having to pay penalties! I'm glad my own state can seem this completely unsafe but no recall has occurred? what if I fix it- will I be reimbursed if there finally is a recall? this has put me in such a terrible place! please help!.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. While the driver was at a stop sign attempting to turn left, the contact noticed another vehicle coming towards her. As a result, the contact veered to the right and crashed into the rear driver side of another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The driver sustained back injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The passenger airbag indicates "off" even when an adult is sitting in the passenger seat. Airbag warning light constantly flashing in dash. This problem seems to be a common one in this model year vehicle and should be repaired under safety recall through the dealership. It would be a very sad day when someone has an accident / crash and the passenger airbag does not deploy, potentially causing injury or even death!.
One day I started my car and the air bag light came on the dash board blinking for a minute and then stay on the whole time until I turn off my car, took it to a dealer and was told that the passenger side sensor under the seat is bad, they wanted to charge me $1,200. 00 to fix it, this happened right after the warranty expired around 72000 miles, so I have not fix it yet and as of today 01/03/2017 the air bag light is still on, I'm thinking that if I ever have an accident the passenger air bag will not deployed due to this problem, I hope that this report will help other people to come forward and report this problem so it can get resolved. . .
Vehicle was brought in for an oil change at 73,000 miles. No prior mvas or maintenance issues. After leaving the dealership the front dashboard airbag light was blinking intermittently. Immediately taken back to dealership and the test indicated a "front crash zone sensor failure" repair would be approximately $1800. Was told that airbag may not deploy in a collision or could deploy at random. Either dealer damaged the vehicle during oil change, or front crash sensor on model vehicle is faulty; causing high risk of injury or death in the event of a collision or malfunction.
The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while at a stop light, the vehicle was rear ended by another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. The contact mentioned that the air bag warning light continuously illuminated. The contact did not disclose if a police report was filed or not. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 08v521000( air bags). The failure mileage was 100,000.
The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 10 mph, another vehicle rear ended the contact¿s vehicle causing him to crash into a second vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 105,000. The VIN was not available.
The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 2 mph and making a left turn while pulling into a parking space, the vehicle suddenly experienced an unintended acceleration and went over a curb before crashing into a tree. The contact indicated that during the incident the air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who had not diagnosed the cause of the failure. The contact was not injured. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 56,000.
Air bag light started blinking out of nowhere. Didn't think much of it because my sentra did this before too, but stopped. Finally brought it in because it wasn't going off and told by mechanic that there is a short in the spiral cable that will not deploy air bag. Electrical shorts can also cause fires. Nissan is refusing to fix it because it is not a current recall and we are just past warranty now - even though it started pre-expiration. This is not an issue affected by maintenance or anything we could've done wrong. It causes a safety issue in terms of fire and air bag deployment. Additionally, I was able to see many people with the same problem on the web. Unfortunately, they are all using a trick to get the light off, not realizing the air bag will not deploy if in an accident or car can start on fire.
My 2009 Nissan Rogue has never been in an accident. Out of nowhere my passenger airbag light started to flash, I brought it in to my local mechanic who said that it was the airbag sensor underneath the passenger seat and that he was unable to do anything about it as it takes certain programming to make the airbags work appropriately. I then brought my car in to a Nissan dealer where they told me it would be $200 to hook their machine us to read the code to even begin the diagnostic process I've been told them that this is reported on line time after time again specifically on the 2008 and 2009 models and I don't feel I should have to pay for them to hook up a machine to read the diagnostic code in which I had in my hand. After doing more research online I have had numbers between $300 and $2,000 be quoted for this part to fix the issue and according to most of the people that have said they paid to have it fixed at some point they came back and reissued new complaints on the same form that it does happen over and over again. How is Nissan not fixing an issue that makes their airbags disfuctinal and not deploy? I guess it takes some death and a lawsuit before it will get done.
The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while an adult passenger was seated in the front seat, the air bag sensor light illuminated indicating that the air bag system was off and that the air bags would not deploy if a crash occurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who indicated that the occupant classification system located in the front passenger seat was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the NHTSA campaign number 08v521000(air bags, electrical). The contact stated that the vehicle experienced the identical failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 103,000.
There was an accident that occurred with this car and the passenger airbag did not deploy, which could have caused a major injury to the passenger. I have noticed that this a know issue with the 2008 Nissan rouge. The airbag sensor in not working and this is extremely dangerous especially, since an accident occurred. Nissan should be responsible to fix this issue, since they know they had problems with this model the year before.
Sometime between 3-6 months ago, I noticed that the air bag light and tire pressure light came on in my 2007 Nissan Rogue. I took the car to coral springs Nissan (coral springs, broward county, FL), where I purchased the vehicle from, in order to get the vehicle repaired because I found online via safercar. Gov and/or Nissan's website that there were recalls for the two (2) issues that I was having. When I took it to coral springs Nissan, they told me that nothing was wrong with my car and that there were no recalls on my vehicle. They wanted approximately $150 to "look at" the car. I left and returned home and called fort lauderdale Nissan (fort lauderdale, broward county, FL) and performance Nissan (pompano beach, broward county, FL) and explained the same thing to both dealerships that both the air bag and tire pressure lights were on and there were recalls for both on my car. I provided over the phone the VIN # for my vehicle and was told that there were no recalls on my car and that it would be various amounts to "look at" the vehicle. The vehicle was recently in an accident and the driver side air bag deployed, but the passenger side air bag did not. When I took the vehicle to performance Nissan to have it fixed, I informed them of the issue I was having with the air bag light and they said they would look at it and try and put it through the insurance claim. The insurance company informed me that they would not cover the repair because it was "a preexisting condition". I then learned through Nissan (corporate) that apparently the recall was "fixed" in July 2012 at performance Nissan. Clearly, the issue was not fixed because sometime between 3-6 months ago, the air bag and tire pressure lights came on and the passenger side air bag did not deploy when the driver side air bag did.

The 2013 Nissan Rogue I was driving was struck a glancing blow starting from the center front through the driver's front left quarter panel and door. The frontal impact was strong enough to break the front support extruded steel brace in three places and decimate the grill, light, bumper, quarter panel and door skin. There are two problems I would like to report. One the side impact and seat air bags did not deploy at all; however the driver's air bag did deploy slowly after the impact. It did not completely deploy until after I exited the vehicle. The second issue is that while the seat belt prevented me from going through the windshield, the mechanism in the seatbelt is also destroyed. The vehicle that struck me had their air bags to fully deploy. Please look into this as I understand there was a recall on the 2011 - 2012 models. Thank you.
The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Rogue. The contact was traveling 35 mph when she crashed into the rear of another vehicle from the front driver side. The contact struck the steering wheel and sustained injuries to shoulder, neck and back. The air bags did not deploy. The police arrived and advised that the air nags should have deployed. A police report was field and the vehicle was towed to a local repair shop. The manufacturer was contacted and advised that the air bags would only deploy if the vehicle was involved in a crash at 100 mph. The contact believed the speed for air bag deployment was entirely too high. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage and current mileages were 5,000.
