Shortly after purchasing the vehicle, the airbag warning light illuminated. I took the vehicle to a Nissan dealership in texas for diagnosis. The technician confirmed that the airbag fault was present before the vehicle was sold to me. According to the diagnostic records, the selling dealer (kelly Nissan in oak lawn, illinois) had previously scanned the airbag system, identified an airbag fault code, cleared the code without performing the repair, and then proceeded to sell the vehicle. This means the airbag defect existed at the time of sale and was intentionally or negligently undisclosed. The system continues to show a malfunction indicator, and the clay cooley Nissan dealership in richardson, texas identified the issue as an electrical airbag system failure requiring a repair estimated at $2,304. 15. The airbag light comes on for no reasons and after spending the money to test it, the mechanics suggested multiple defects (clock spring, module, etc). There is no hit or anything and yet it just becomes faulty.

Was traveling down the road the curtain air bags deployed and filled car with smoke so badly driver couldn’t see and caused him to wreck in a creek it totaled the vehicle and progressive insurance had CO-part to pick it up there was no warning that the air bags were going to deploy.

This is a known issue for the 2015 Rogue and a huge safety problem. Nissan needs to issue a recall.

I was in a head on collision going 55-60mph with no airbags deployed. Car started a dripping fire. I have seatbelt lacerations starting from collarbone/neck area cross my chest, breast and right side ribs including deep bruising on lower abdomen and pelvic area. Police would not let me in my car bc air bags could potentially go off at any time but car made it to the tow-yard still without airbags going off. Upon starting the car the airbag, seatbelt light came on and will not go off.

My side airbags deployed unexpectedly and without impact while riving down the street. I was in my neighborhood, close to my home, and suddenly the passenger side airbags deployed. The car shut down immediately. There is no impact to the side of the car and no dents (pics attached) I have a "malfunction" error on my screen. I don't know why this happened. My safety was at risk because if I was on the highway and this happened, it would've caused an accident. Also, I have just dropped off my child. During a recent trip I noticed a "fluttering/rattling" noise coming from the top of the windshield of our 2021 Nissan Rogue platinum. The noise was very noticeable at interstate highway speed and on rougher road surfaces. While looking for the source of noise I found staining on the driver side headliner and interior front pillar garnish. Took Rogue to dealer and was told that the seal for the attachment clips for the roof rack were leaking into the interior. Leakage had damaged headliner and gotten into the airbag. The roof racks would have to be removed and sealed and the entire headliner, front pillar garnish, and the airbag replaced. The total repair would cost approximately $4,000. 00. Since the Rogue was 45 months old with 20,500 miles it was out of warranty due to its age. The dealer told me that I would be responsible for the cost to repair it since it was out of warranty. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs to see if they would cover the cost since the leak was caused by a design and/or manufacturing defect. Nissan agreed to pay 90% of the repair but I would be responsible for the remaining 10% (approximately $400. 00). I told them this was unacceptable and that Nissan should be responsible for the entire cost of the repair. Nissan has refused my requests to cover the full cost of repair. An internet search revealed that Nissan was aware of the defect and had issued a service bulletin (ntb21-097, dated 10/20/21), which was a few months before we purchased the vehicle. Since the leak can allow water to damage the airbag it is a serious safety issue. The airbag may not deploy properly during an accident or could suddenly deploy for no reason and cause a crash. Nissan should take full responsibility and pay the full amount for the repair since it is a known design and/or manufacturing defect. Nissan should issue a recall for affected vehicles.

I was in an accident with front and rear collision and damage and my airbags never deployed. I hydroplaned into the guardrail and hit the front of the vehicle completely and then was rear-ended with massive damage after I hit the guardrail.

It started when I purchased it in February 2025 mileage was 99200 I noticed the seatbelt warning signs didn’t ding if I didn’t have my seatbelt on. And the sunroof not only was leaking but it is coming apart where it is held in place I’m afraid it will suddenly come down and strike me without notice while driving. Theee days ago I noticed the airbag light came on while I had the driver assist engaged so I stopped and turned the driver assistance light on and then off which caused the airbag light to turn off . But today with 1100 miles on the vehicle I was driving and the light. Came on as I was driving again. I tried turning off the drivers assistance button but the light stays on!!! I’m concerned about the safety while driving with the airbag light, the seatbelt not signaling when the seatbelt is not on it ding to remind me that someone doesn’t have their seat belt on. At lastly , I believe that I am going to be injured by the sunroof motor fulling down while I am driving causing a car wreck and or injuring me or a passenger. The OCS system in the 2015 model needs to be fixed before serious injury occurs.

I was t-boned in my driver side from a driver ran a red light and my air bags did not deploy, with that my head hit the driver side window.

Airbag failure 6/27/2025 auto accident driver hit my vehicle right at the start of passenger side door. My vehicles rear went counter clockwise nearly tipping over before being hit again passenger side front damages extensive. Zero airbags deployed car not drivable. Place were notified report was made insurance companies. Notified car was taking to a tow lot as it was not drivable.

Hi team, I own a certified 2021 Nissan and am currently experiencing a water leak at the top front corners of the windshield. The vehicle has already been inspected for potential windshield defects and clogged drains, but no issues were identified. Upon further research, I came across technical bulletin ntb21-097b, which describes a similar issue occurring in many 2021-manufactured vehicles. Although my vehicle's VIN does not currently show any active recalls related to this bulletin, the symptoms are consistent. My car's driver side air bag sign is on and took it to the Nissan dealer for diagnostic and was told the car seatback needs to be replaced as the airbag is not working. The technician was surprised that this part of the car needed replacement. This car has clean title no accidents and one owner. Contacted Nissan consumer affairs but they would not help in this issue. The component was never inspected just a diagnostic was done.

The airbag light has been illuminated. Checked the wiring under the seats & is not loose. This issue has been recalled for other vins but Nissan is neglecting to expand to all cars with the problem! this is a huge safety risk & needs to be recalled!.

The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline to file a safety complaint. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.

On 03/06/2025 my car got into an accident with another vehicle the whole pumper was damaged yet the air bags didn’t go off, and my child in the back seat with his booster, that the seat belt was supposed to hold the seat, the whole booster seat came off.

Only a few weeks after purchasing my brand new vehicle, the airbag warning light appeared. When I brought it in February, I was told a part was on backorder for about 4-6 weeks and, quite concerningly, advised to “not hit anything” in the meantime. At that point, I was not made aware that this meant the airbag system was disabled and that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. For months — and through multiple service visits and oil changes — no one at the dealership informed me of the continued safety risk or provided updates unless I reached out myself. It was not until July, after repeatedly escalating the issue and emailing service manager ryan hernandez, that I was finally provided a loaner vehicle, upon my request. Even then, the experience was disorganized, impersonal, and dismissive, especially given the nature of the safety defect. While I understand that the airbag part is on national backorder and some delays are out of peoples control, the fact remains: I purchased a new vehicle that was unsafe from the start, and Nissan — both at the corporate and dealership levels — has failed to address the issue in a reasonable timeframe. As of October 27th, I have spoken with the general manager, josh ingrim, about this matter for the first time, because I was told service employees and by previous management in the service department that they would be expediting my situation. It has been 10 months since I’ve bought my car with no clear eta on my car repair or a an attempt to make right of the situation. The manager claims to have been in contact with consumer affairs and fixed operations manager but have not heard back.

When driving the seatbelt light indicator comes on, has been doing this for sometime and usually only happens when there is no passenger. When the passenger seatbelt is clicked the light (seatbelt indicator) goes off.

The body control module system goes to sleep intermittently. Nissan reports that it is a manufacturer error but Nissan has 0 fixes or recommendations. They refuse to buy the car back. The bcm system is a safety hazard as my lights don't always come on and it is interconnected with other systems including the air bag system and safety restraint system. This is a huge concern to me as I don't want to have to worry if my restraints or air bags will work when needed. Also, I have had other issues related to infotainment system. It is a brand new vehicle and should not have all these issues causing me to question if I'll be safe. I have video proof of all issues.
