Only a few weeks after purchasing my brand new vehicle, the airbag warning light appeared. When I brought it in February, I was told a part was on backorder for about 4-6 weeks and, quite concerningly, advised to “not hit anything” in the meantime. At that point, I was not made aware that this meant the airbag system was disabled and that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. For months — and through multiple service visits and oil changes — no one at the dealership informed me of the continued safety risk or provided updates unless I reached out myself. It was not until July, after repeatedly escalating the issue and emailing service manager ryan hernandez, that I was finally provided a loaner vehicle, upon my request. Even then, the experience was disorganized, impersonal, and dismissive, especially given the nature of the safety defect. While I understand that the airbag part is on national backorder and some delays are out of peoples control, the fact remains: I purchased a new vehicle that was unsafe from the start, and Nissan — both at the corporate and dealership levels — has failed to address the issue in a reasonable timeframe. As of October 27th, I have spoken with the general manager, josh ingrim, about this matter for the first time, because I was told service employees and by previous management in the service department that they would be expediting my situation. It has been 10 months since I’ve bought my car with no clear eta on my car repair or a an attempt to make right of the situation. The manager claims to have been in contact with consumer affairs and fixed operations manager but have not heard back.

When driving the seatbelt light indicator comes on, has been doing this for sometime and usually only happens when there is no passenger. When the passenger seatbelt is clicked the light (seatbelt indicator) goes off.
The body control module system goes to sleep intermittently. Nissan reports that it is a manufacturer error but Nissan has 0 fixes or recommendations. They refuse to buy the car back. The bcm system is a safety hazard as my lights don't always come on and it is interconnected with other systems including the air bag system and safety restraint system. This is a huge concern to me as I don't want to have to worry if my restraints or air bags will work when needed. Also, I have had other issues related to infotainment system. It is a brand new vehicle and should not have all these issues causing me to question if I'll be safe. I have video proof of all issues.

My 16 year old son was driving the 2017 Nissan Rogue on [xxx] to our home around 7:30 pm. He veered and right front of vehicle struck a curb. Immediately the passenger side airbags exploded. The two airbag curtain side bags and the front passenger seat side airbag all 3 deployed. First, the airbags should not have deployed and secondly, if this had been a collision with another vehicle, the specific airbags that deployed wouldn't have prevented injury. If there had been a passenger in the front seat, they could have been severely injured by the deployment. The car was towed to a Nissan dealership who ran a diagnostic for 200. 00. They advised that the cost to replace would be 14k. Given the takata airbag recalls, I should have received a recall notice as I am the original owner of this vehicle. Luckily my son was not injured, but I need to report and hear back from this incident! I believe I should be reimbursed by Nissan the replacement value of my vehicle. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

I brought my 2021 Nissan Rogue in for service at jenkins Nissan in lakeland, FL for a oil change and tire rotation and we have had a light on our dash board indicating a airbag error and they charged us to look that up and said it is an airbag module or sensor that is causing the error message on the dashboard as the paper work said it is a sensor-side airbag center causing that and said it would cost around $1460 to repair that. I looked up recalls on my Rogue and it listed an airbag issue on some of the 2021 Nissan Rogue models but did not list mine specifically. I feel this should either be covered by my warranty or the recall they are having with the airbag issue.

Airbag warning lights consistently flashing on and off. I was told it was a seat belt sensor or issue. Safety related. I know you have other Rogues are on the recall list fir this same year however mine does not come up. This us so frustrating as to the rates your dealerships charge. Please advise on the highly safety issue. I want to feel safe in my SUV again.

Request for recall coverage – 2013 Nissan Rogue select airbag issue dear sir, I am the original owner of a 2013 Nissan Rogue select. Recently, I became aware of a recall issued by Nissan north America for certain 2013–2014 Rogue select vehicles due to an electrical short in the harness connector. This issue is caused by snow/water and salt seeping through the driver's side floor carpet, resulting in the flickering of the driver-side airbag warning light. My vehicle is experiencing the exact symptoms described in the recall notice. However, when I contacted both the Nissan dealership and Nissan north America, I was informed that my vehicle is not included in the affected recall list—even though it is the same model and year, and shows the exact defect identified in the recall. As a senior citizen, I am deeply concerned about the functionality of the airbag system in my vehicle. I rely on the safety features of my car, and I hope that, if ever needed, the airbag would deploy as intended. I respectfully hope that Nissan reevaluates my case and includes my vehicle in the recall repair program, as the issue clearly aligns with the known defect. Thank you for your attention and assistance in this matter. I look forward to your response.

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the air bag warning light was illuminated and blinking. The contact called the independent mechanic where the vehicle was purchased and was informed that the vehicle needed to be serviced. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the air bags were missing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 113,615.
During a rear end accident on the highway when someone slammed on their brakes, I hit them at around 40 mph and slamming on my brakes to prevent it and the airbags did not deploy. The light was on the dashboard after the accident as if they did the deploy, the seatbelt blew out and will no longer retract. The front frame of the vehicle bent inwards at a 90 degrees angle puncturing the ac compressor, though the bumper has minimal damage. Ma state troopers noted that damage and allowed me to drive off since "the vehicle is not over heating or leaking", a body shop then said my car is totaled. My insurance company is investigating why/how the frame obtained extensive damage though the outer body is not as damaged. The vehicle has been parked since the accident and is available for inspection. My safety was at risk with a significant crash and the airbags not deploying, the seatbelt injured me, I am under medical treatment for injuries obtained after this accident. I have a police report, I have an insurance claim, I believe this needs to be further investigated. My vehicle was bought used in 2017 from a Nissan dealership, it has never been in an accident with me as the owner, but my insurance company found an unreported accident from 2014 which could relate to the airbags not deploying and the frame bending so significantly from a rear end accident.
I purchased the vehicle from seventy 7 auto on mahoning avenue in youngstown ohio I was never told that the car didn’t have airbags it has a oil leak and bad catalytic converter after I took it back to the dealer they checked it and said it was good to go as I was leaving the dealer ship I was on the highway driving at the speed limit which is 60 mph then my vehicle did a hard jerk making interrupt the flow of traffic and proceeded to jerk until I was able to make it off the highway and it was never any lights on to tell me my engine oil was leaking or that the car didn’t have any airbags at all.
Airbag indicator, driver side warning lamps have been consistently on for the past 2 weeks now. Bought it used, but owned the vehicle for 2 years now. Called the Nissan authorized dealership, will charge me for diagnostic service.
I got into a car accident where the airbags didn't go off. I have the airbag light now on in the car and the diagnostics is something with the transmission.
Airbag warning on dash display. Driver side airbag dtc, replaced airbag and clock spring from Nissan oem at local shop.
Air bag warning light blinks 1 long and 5 short blinks. Scan shows code of b1018-00 which is passenger seat occupation seat sensor failure meaning even if seat is occupied, air bag will not deploy. Nissan has no coverage for this but earlier and later models did have recall coverage with only the 2013 year not recalled or just ignored. Let's get this handled please.
The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while the vehicle was started and running, her husband sat in the driver's side seat, and wiped the center console, and without warning, the driver’s and passenger’s side curtain air bags deployed. The driver sustained ear and emotional injuries. Medical attention was not needed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 146,000.

I have a 2009 Nissan Rogue and a couple years ago the passenger airbag sensor indication on the dash continually flashes and the airbag light shows it is turned off. After a lot of research it looks like this has been a problem in 2008 and 2010 Nissan Rogues and a recall was issued. The same airbags and sensors were used in the 2009 but no recall. This could be catastrophic if the vehicle was in an accident and the airbag did not deploy.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the airbag system in my 2017 Nissan Rogue malfunctioned. The airbag warning light turned on, indicating a potential failure in the system. The vehicle and its components are available for inspection if needed. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the malfunctioning airbag system compromises the vehicle's ability to deploy airbags in the event of a collision, putting my safety and the safety of others at risk. If the airbags do not deploy correctly during an accident, it could lead to severe injuries or even fatalities. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes, the problem has been confirmed by a Nissan dealership. They informed me that the airbag system malfunctioned due to a defect in the sensor, and they recommended a repair costing approximately $4,000. However, they stated that the repair would not be covered under warranty. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? the vehicle has been inspected by a Nissan dealership, which confirmed the issue with the airbag system. The vehicle has not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or other independent service centers. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? yes, the airbag warning light turned on, indicating a malfunction in the system. This warning light first appeared approximately a week ago.
The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the front passenger's side air bag and seat belt warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the front passenger's side seat sensor was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The dealer contacted the manufacturer, and the manufacturer advised the dealer that the front passenger's seat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 16v244000 (air bags); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,191.
The air bag light turned on in the dashboard and I took it to the dealership they charged a diagnostics fee and said that the osc sensor and control unit need to be replaced. I reported to them that I thought maybe the kids dropping water behind the seat was what triggered the light but it turned out that water never touched the components and it just failed on it's own. I checked for recalls for my VIN and found nothing however my car falls under the osc recalls for my make and model it's just that my VIN isn't included for whatever reason.
Pulling out of a dollar general store was hit by a truck causing sever vehicle damage. Air bags and collision avoidance did not work. Engine did not shut down was still running after collision, no warning lights came on. I had to shut the car off. Could not move the car frame was broken. Called nissain a couple of times was told a rep would look at it but it could take up to 6 weeks never got a follow up call. Hit my head on the steering wheel. Have not contacted a lawyer as of yet.
Airbag light continuously blinks on dashboard, I took it into my local dealer and they said it is due to the passenger seat airbag sensor failure. This was not caused by user error, but I feel is a defect in the vehicle itself.
The passenger seat sensor does not work anymore. So the passenger side airbag does not register anyone in the seat and is always turned off. The passenger side air bag will not fire if there is a crash. Confirmed by mechanic, the sensor failed and need to replace the entire seat to make it work. The light is showing that the airbag is off even when someone sits in the seat. Not sure how long ago this started.
Air bag light is on. Nissan dealer wants $800 to repair.
Aes went off when nothing was around multiple times and has caused my car to lock up the steering wheel, breaks, gas and gear shift causing me to not have any control of my car as the car took over. Due to the automatic brake system went off it cost me to have an accident and ruin my car. Nissan said that they fixed this issue but I have had multiple incidents in the past I have had it break in the middle of oncoming traffic thank god there was no one around there was no accident then. And then it happenee in may of this year and the aes broke my brake system when there was no reason for the aes to come on. July I had gotten into a crash due to the aes again and the airbag didn't deploy when in a crash.

The passenger airbag light always reads off even when someone is sitting in the passenger seat.
I am the 2nd owner of a 2011 Nissan Rogue purchased in 2016. I have had four problems with the vehicle, the major one being the transmission that will not cool and overheats as soon as the temperature goes up. With the most recent heat wave, I have experienced no power going to the wheels. I had no power steering and had to push my car off the road with a friend with in the car. I also experienced a short in the system where it had no power at all and seemed to have no battery power, it clearly is an electrical short. The fourth issue is the passenger seat airbag. I have never received any notice from Nissan about any of these issues since I purchased the car used in 2016. When I called today, I was told that there were no recalls on my car and hung up on by Nissan America. I clearly saw four recalls that had been issued over the years on all four of these issues. I drive for the elderly, homeless, homebound and other persons in need in my community and have done so since I was 14 years old. I am a good citizen and have gone out of my way to try to make things right and just for all people. I am appalled at the conduct and behavior that I received on the phone today. I understand that my car is older but I would have returned my car for service if I had received a recall of which I received none. I know for fact that the recall for the transmission came out in 2016 and should have covered my car. I cannot take care of the people and continue with what I do in my community without a working car. I cannot afford a new car and surely do not deserve such disrespect.
Had an accident at 40 to 45 mph, hit a curb and traffic light post caused front passenger side severely damaged and windshield shattered and none of the air bags deployed.
In the website it shows that there was a safety recall for the door lock but when I entered my VIN#it doesn't show outstanding recalls. I don't know if it's because it was previously corrected but the passenger door isn't opening neither from the inside nor the outside.
