While driving at approximately 20mph, with no vehicle or obstruction in front of me, my Rogue automatically braked, flashed a warning bar in the dash, and came to a complete stop while physically shaking and making a grinding noise. The car had engaged the automatic emergency braking system without cause. This occurred at 8:00pm (night) and about 20 feet before a railroad crossing on a two-lane street in a rural town, but there was no train present. It took several seconds to regain control of the car and begin driving again. The car following me was far enough behind to avoid a rear collision, and was able to navigate around my stopped vehicle. I have reported the occurrence to fred anderson Nissan of asheville, where I purchased the vehicle on sept. 29, 2020, and am waiting for their response about correcting the problem.

On 5 separate occasions prior to the date listed, the automatic emergency braking system activated for no apparent reason. At approximately 30 mph on a relatively straight sections of road with no obstructions and clear road ahead. The brakes activated without a warning creating a rapid deceleration and a severe grinding noise. Though no accident occurred had it been in traffic the results would most likely have been the vehicle being struck from the rear. The dealership states that there appears to be no obvious issues and can't recommend a fix. The employee I spoke with in the dealership service department stated that there are known issues but no recalls or corrective actions have been made for this particular vehicle.

I purchased the car on August 30, 2019 and several times while backing out of the garage, with a slight decline, or close to the garage door edge, or close to a truck in the garage, brakes were automatically engages making a sudden stop with a grinding noise. On Saturday 2-1-2020, my wife was backing out of a shopping center parking space and she said when she applied the brakes the car would not stop and she hit a car parked in a space behind her. She fanatically says she was pressing the brake pedal. There was no damage to either car. I have not made any contact with a Nissan dealer.
Aeb light comes on when no other vehicles are present. It has stayed on for about 15 minutes with no traffic around while driving 35-55 mph. It has also made a a grinding noise and engaged the brakes while going slowly with no car or object nearby at about 35mph. Light has also been on while stopped with no vehicles around.
I was driving at approximately 25 mph with my foot on the gas pedal when the car began to automatically brake and made a grinding noise. The automatic braking lasted for a few seconds. It was a clear sunny day with no cars in front of me and nothing in the roadway.
Tl the contact owns a 2018 Nissan Rogue. While driving various speeds, an abnormal grinding noise was heard when the brake pedal was depressed. The failure occurred without warning. The contact stated that the brakes engaged for approximately three seconds and returned to normal. The vehicle was taken to newton Nissan south (2801 us highway 231 north, shelbyville, TN 37160, (931) 536-3118) to be diagnosed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was repaired, but the contact was unaware of what was replaced. The failure recurred seven additional times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and provided case number: 38022881. The manufacturer opened an investigation. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.
I was pulling into a driveway in the city, and then aeb started to beep and then suddenly stopped the car (the brakes made a grinding noise, they stopped that hard). There was no obstruction in front of the sensor, and I was already applying the brake and going less than 10 mph.
The automatic emergency braking (aeb) system is engaging when there is no threat of an accident. It has happened twice with the most recent being 19jun2019. Both times I was accelerating from being stopped at a light. Both times system flashes orange, beeps, makes awful grinding noise, and slows the car down.
The emergency braking system is engaging, causing the car to slow down unexpectedly. I hear three beeps, then a drop down menu appears on the computer screen with a triangle with an exclamation mark inside of it. Immediately after, I hear a grinding noise and the car slows down. I do not feel the brake pedal physically depress, but it shakes. It has happened twice in the last 4 weeks, and seems to be getting more frequent. I am concerned for my safety. I brought the car to the dealer once a few weeks ago, and I have another appointment on Monday.
Over the past 3 months, while driving on the highway, I would hear a series of 3 beeps and the collision detect warning light would light up for a brief moment. This has happened about 6 times. On one occasion the vehicle slowed down briefly as well. However, last week while driving on a residential street near my home, driving about 25 mph, the vehicle made the 3 beep sound and this time came to a sudden and extreme stop. It also made a grinding noise which I assume was from the brakes being applied suddenly.

While beginning to accelerate on a local street the car made a grinding noise and the brake applied.
My 2018 Nissan Rogue braked suddenly, for no reason. Traveling 30 mph on a quiet neighborhood street. The lights on the dashboard flashed briefly, there was a loud grinding noise, then sudden and complete stop in the middle of the road. No cars in front or back of mine. The only thing in the road was a metal drain cover. Very frightening experience.
The vehicle will make a sudden accelerated decrease in speed nearly grinding to a halt. The vehicle has 5100 miles on it. This has happened more than once. It has happened twice while traveling over railroad tracks. It will make a grinding noise, then resume operation within seconds. It could cause an accident if someone were behind me.
On may 31, 2018, I was driving at about 50 mph on a 4 lane road with no cars behind me, and the nearest car in front of me about a mile ahead. Suddenly my car came to a full and complete stop and then proceeded at about 5 mph. This was accompanied by two warning beeps and a severe grinding noise. At no time was my foot on the brake. I had the car towed to my dealership, but they could find nothing wrong, nor could they duplicate the problem. I called their national consumer hotline, but they said they have never heard about the problem. A quick search on google reveals that there are many complaints on this issue.
