Reference total brake failure; 8 issues already reported to NHTSA on the Nissan Rogue, involving 8 wrecks, 5 injuries, guess they are waiting for someone to be killed before addressing the situation. I was west bound I-76 out of denver CO in my 2017 Nissan rouge, when we came upon an accident scene in the extreme left lane next to the east/west concrete lane divider, I slowed down with the rest of the traffic as we attempted to merge into the right lane to get around the accident, traffic was moving at about 10-15 mph or slower, as I looked at the right lane for space to merge, a car in the right lane jumped in fornt of me into the lane the accident was in, that lane was stopped, he then slammed on his brakes, I had about15-20 feet between us, I hit my brakes hard, the pedal went all the way to the floor, no brakes. I told wife to hang on we then hit his car coming in contact with his bumper hitch which stuck out about 10 inches. I was standing on the brake so hard my leg cramped up! we both got our of our cars, he saw no damage to his, got back in and left the scene as the lane had then started moving again, as we were past the accident. Actually the vehicles involved in the accident we were avoiding had been moved to the left safety lane but one a pickup was protruding into left lane of traffic causing us to have to merger to the right to pass, but still stay in basic left lane, that was when he made move in front of me. . Have been driving 64 years, 40 professionally, never had a charge accident. Now have one due to failure of the brakes on 2 year old car with 25,000 miles on it. . Not the first time for Nissan as stated above, are they waiting for people to get killed before they address a major safety issue? at the least a vehicle check should be issued to Nissan! we needed to rent a car from enterprise to finish our trip, over $4500 damage to the vehicle.

As I was driving back to home in orange county, CA, on 6/27/2019 at around 8 p. M. , I opened the garage door a couple of garage-doors down and as I was slowing the car down to turn and enter the garage, the brakes did not work, and the car sped up instead. I turned the steering wheel to the right to brake the speed of the car and to avoid a head-on collision with the garage's front wall. The air bags got deployed and I got badly bruised. My right foot's right ankle also hit a metal on the right (most probably gas pedal as it was on the right side of my foot) as I turned the car to the right. Automatic emergency braking (aeb) is standard on Rogue/rogue sport model year 2018, among other Nissan models. However, not only the brakes of the vehicle failed on me but also aeb system did not kick in to avoid the collision. It was enterprise rental car. They next morning it was towed to their location in lake forest, oc. They are working with me to get to the bottom of this matter. My hope is they will take the right and conscientious approach to the matter to avoid more serious accident and graver consequences in the future. I will update as I will have more information available to share.

I was driving a rental vehicle, 2019 Nissan Rogue, 65 mph and when I applied the brakes they failed, causing me to go across the intersection, through a fence, into a ditch. The front end was totaled. The airbags did not deploy. The 4 wheel drive took over and the car pulled itself out of the ditch eventually stopping in a field just prior to going over and embankment and into a river. According to the police officer that arrived at the scene, the brakes of the vehicle were pressed all the way to the floor of the vehicle, although he did not enter this into the written report. He did verbalize that to me on the phone the day following the accident. There were no skid marks on the road indicating that the vehicle tried to stop. I was going the speed limit of 65 mph. I sustained 2 fractures of my back, a concussion and a large laceration of my forehead. The vehicle is currently in storage and has not been inspected, yet. The computer of this vehicle took over and drove itself. I was taken to a nearby trauma center and admitted for 2 days.

My brakes are not working properly. I first noticed my brake not responding correctly to the normal amount of pressure on 1/15/19. I would apply normal pressure and have no response, and have to press harder to get any kind of decline in speed. I took it to a local shop and they put on brakes, rotors, and flushed the brake system. A few weeks went by and the brakes were okay, but still not normal. On 2/1/19 the brakes would completely fail. I would press the brake and the brake would hit the floor with no backward pressure on my foot and no slowing of the car. I took it back to the shop on 2/2/19 and they flushed my brakes. I ran a few errands and returned my car that same day because it was still not stopping properly. They flushed the brakes again and suggested I see a Nissan service center if that did not fix it. On 2/4/19 I took my car to a Nissan service center. They could not find the issue, but suggest a brake flush. I declined because of the price and my brakes had been flushed twice two days prior. But to be safe,I returned it to the original shop and had them flush my brakes again. The car will now stop. However, the same amount of pressure may cause a sudden stop or a smooth stop. The brakes are still not responding properly and I am afraid they will fail again. I called the Nissan customer affairs line and they said to have a Nissan service center flush the brakes. A brake flush is a brake flush and it is not worth $118 to have a Nissan shop flush my brakes for the same outcome. I looked online to see if other 2013 Nissan Rogue owners had sudden brake failure, and they have. I believe this is worth looking into. Accidents are happening because of something with this Rogue, not because of my lack of maintaining it. This is Nissan's failure, not the consumer.

I purchased my car brand new in March 2018. It has less than 7700 miles on it. On July 30, 2018, I was at a red light (completely stopped) on a dry city street, with my foot on the brake, when my car suddenly lunged forward into the vehicle in front of mine. Despite my foot remaining on the brake, the engine continued to rev until I took my foot off the brake and reapplied. I purchased the safety package for my car, and not only did the brakes fail, but the safety package, that is supposed to prevent a collision, also failed.
I was on a highway in heavy traffic, travelling 5 mph in a brand new Nissan car that I had recently leased. I had to stop and go several times. During this time my brakes failed sporadically. Each time it stopped only after hitting the truck ahead. I was towed to the nearest Nissan dealer. It then took me two weeks to get to speak to an appropriate person. He was part of Nissan's arbitration department. He said he himself would feel unsafe to drive this car, and that his wife would definitely not let him drive it, even if Nissan failed to duplicate the problem. Therefore, if Nissan can?t duplicate the problem, I need to keep the same car. I have read reports on the NHTSA website that even after cars with similar brake problems were repaired, the same problem recurred. At the time of the incident the mileage on the car was 3200.
