1 Brake Sensor problem of the 2021 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/06/2021

While our son was trying to align car in drive outside our home garage door, going from r to d, dash lit up with all red warnings and could not put into park. Car started to roll back. My husband went to assist our son who was behind wheel and now believed the car to be in park. When my husband went to get behind wheel and my son was getting out, car started rolling backward getting close to our neighbor's garage door. My husband and son both fell from vehicle beside drivers door. My son put arms up onto open door trying to prevent car from further rolling and to prevent his father from being run over. Car finally stopped, aaa was called and vehicle towed to dealership. Car has approximately 1300 miles on it, and was taken to dealership twice to repair/replace/check sensors.

3 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 12/23/2020

I was on the highway driving to sheboygan , WI from chicago, IL. I had the cruise control on. I was going 80 in the fast lane. My car out of nowhere slowed down on its own abruptly almost causing a 4 car collision. I quickly turned on to the shoulder and once my car came to a stop the car died. I tried to turn it back on and nothing happened. I had no sensors or warning lights to give me some type of clue as to what happened. About 3 months ago, going over railroad tracks my car abruptly slammed on the brakes on its own and came to a stop on the tracks. I was unable to accelerate. I had to turn the car off n then back on to be able to drive off the tracks.

4 Brake Sensor problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 11/22/2020

On 11/22/020 while I was driving on the 605 freeway going about 65 miles an hour, my vehicle came to a sudden and unexpected stop. This is the third time the anti collision sensor malfunctioned. There were no vehicles in front of me and the dashboard warning was indicating a malfunction on the emergency breaking system. I have reported the two prior incidents to Nissan consumer affairs and they have stated there is nothing wrong with my vehice. The dealership replaced the original sensor after the vehicle made a sudden stop six months after I first purchased the vehicle. The sensor warning light was still an issue after the replacement and the dealership then felt adjusting the sensors distance will resolve the problem. . It did not. . . My vehicle was almost in a collision as it came to another sudden and unexpected stop after a few months after while I was making a left hand turn in the intersection. The dealership contacted Nissan and were advised to stabilize the sensor with a bracket. None of the methods Nissan has used resolved the sensor malfunction. Nissan dealership insisted that my vehicle was safe to drive and insisted they could not duplicate the sensor malfunction. On 11/22/2020 my vehicle almost caused a rear end collision as it again made a sudden and unexpected stop. The dealership failed to take immediate action and despite me having a video and pictures of the dashboards warning light on. The dealership stated there is nothing wrong with my vehicle and they could not duplicate the issue. I believe my vehicle is a hazard on the road and can potentially cause a severe accident due to the faulty emergency breaking system. The dealerships advice is to get back in my car because they can not duplicate the issue, they also do not want to see the video or the picture of the dashboard with the malfunction warning display.

Failure Date: 10/17/2020

While driving on 10/12/2020 and again on 10/17/2020, the vehicle unexpectedly braked to a complete stop without warning. The front end collision warning lit up on the dashboard indicating that the front end collision sensor was activated. There were no vehicles or objects in front of the vehicle during either incident on the straight highway. Since the vehicle was on the highway (55 mph), it caused the drivers body to be pushed forward onto the seatbelt. The driver experienced significant discomfort after each event. Luckily there were no vehicles behind me as the Rogue came to a complete stop. After the vehicle stopped, the front collision light went out and the vehicle was able to be driven as normal.

Failure Date: 06/21/2020

I was driving my car on the sunken meadows parkway with my nephew in the back seat. There was no cars in front of me or other objects. Our of nowhere, the automatic braking system in the car went off with warning lights and the car came to a complete stop. Multiple cars behind me swerved out of the way almost causing a multi- car accident. This instance has happened multiple times before. After each incident, I went to Nissan 112 and brought my car into service. They simply fixed the sensor of the braking system under the recall. This has not been a solution. The automatic braking system continues to go off in situations where it should not which causes a hazard for myself and other people in my vehicle.

16 Brake Sensor problem of the 2019 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 12/04/2019

Purchased 11. 23. 2019. On 11. 26. 19 as I was starting to go up a steep ramp into the parking garage at work, the car suddenly stopped. I was being trailed by a mercedes that could have rear ended me. 11. 30. 19 I took the car to another Nissan dealership to have it checked out. It checked out fine. There were no recalls or service bulletins to address this problem. I found where the 2017-2018s are being investigated but the 2019s need to be added to the investigation. 12. 4. 19 going up the same ramp but more in the middle of the ramp the car suddenly stopped again and I was almost rear ended by a very large pick up truck who was tailing very close as most people in jackson mississippi do. There are no recalls or service bulletins related to this problem but there should be. Because this is occurring so far only on the parking garage ramp, it would seem that the sensors are giving false information because of the activity. Nissan needs to figure out how to fix the problem. Thank you.

17 Brake Sensor problem of the 2019 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 11/29/2019

There was nothing around me. The car is clean and the sensor is not obstructed. I put it back in park turned it off and restarted it and it was fine after that.

19 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 11/08/2019

The automatic braking system came on briefly about a week ago for no reason, while driving approximately 30 mph on a quiet city street. The sensor light came on as well. Since then, it has happened 4 more times, but much worse. Each time I was in motion, at various speeds, but not exceeding 45 mph. Yesterday I was going up a slight incline at approximately 30 mph on a street by my house, and the aeb came on hard. There was nothing in front of me. Visibility was perfect. Only 2 blocks later, it happened again. This time it caused me to hit the steering wheel with my forearm, which is now sore, and a car behind me had to slam on their brakes. Now I am afraid to drive my car, which I just bought in July. I'm wondering how many times this happened before purchasing the car from the dealer.

20 Brake Sensor problem of the 2019 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/26/2019

I have had an ongoing issue with the aes(automatic braking system) indicator light for about a month. It started when I had 300 miles on my car. The sensor would randomly come on. The 1st few times, the car would slightly break when the sensor would come on. After awhile the sensor would just come on(which turns the whole system off when it is on) randomly with no braking. I have taken to dealership 3 different times. They have reprogrammed and replaced the sensor. It happened again. They then wanted me to make sure I put my car in garage for a week to see if it was related to moisture/fog on the windshield before they would replaced the front camera. I humored them and did that. To my dismay, I drove it and it got worse. I was going down a highway and received front radar failure warning and the same indicator came on. Later, same day, I was going down the interstate passing a semi and a vehicle behind me and the same error. This time it kicked the cruise control off and immediately slowed my vehicle down. I was almost hit from behind. This is a huge safety issue and the dealership should have just replaced the darn camera without me having to take this death trap home. They promised me I was at no risk and then this happened!.

21 Brake Sensor problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/19/2019

As I was driving my car at 20-25mph, my car suddenly beeped and slammed on the emergency break out of no where. At first I thought it was my tires. I got all 4 tires fixed but that didn't resolve the issue. I am afraid this can happen on the freeway with my children. My Nissan 2018 rouge has a sensor problem.

22 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/15/2019

Was driving the vehicle at speed of 45mph and was about to make a left turn at an intersection. The vehicle braked abruptly itself for a while and then the aeb malfunction lights turned on. After the incident, took the vehicle to the nearby Nissan service and reported the problem. The technician reported that some aeb sensor error codes have been diagnosed and the corrections have been applied. Surprised to see that this incident happened for the third time with this vehicle after performing the update fix for the aeb malfunction at a Nissan service center two times prior to this. All three repair invoices attached.

23 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/15/2019

I entered an intersection moving straight ahead after the light turned green. I was the first person at the intersection so no one was ahead of me. This was at about 5:50am so it was dark. In the middle of the intersection the sensors and lights starting beeping and going off and the automatic emergency breaking kicked in and stopped me in the middle of the intersection. I had just had the car in to the dealership the week before for a software update that was supposed to correct this problem. The dealership tells me they can't do anything to fix it because they can't replicate the problem after they drove it for 25 miles. Nissan refuses to buy the car back.

24 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/03/2019

While in motion (approximately 45-50 mph) on a bridge approaching a highway my vehicle self-braked. I did not brake, the vehicle did. There was nothing close to me, in front, or behind me at the time. The vehicle was screeching from the braking. Once I was able to control the vehicle, I got off the highway. I contacted my dealership and they weren't phased, I was told perhaps the sensor probably saw something. This is not safe, and I am very concerned to drive my vehicle.

26 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 09/12/2019

I have been experiencing issues with my safety features. The car will automatically brake when going down a steep hill. Sometimes the sensor will go off on a straight road with no one in front of me. This began early 2919. Nissan replaced the sensors due to the issues and a recall. Since then, the sensor still goes off randomly and frequently malfunctions. Nissan is going to replace the part again, but I'm still not confident issues will be resolved. This is a safety issue that we should not have to gamble with. Braking at the wrong time could cause serious injury or death!.

29 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/27/2019

Vehicle is experiencing a random and repetitive engagement of the aeb system with no apparent reason for activation. In some instances, it is merely a warning and others a full hard braking. The problem first occurred during initial day of ownership on March 13, 2018. Dealer stated that Nissan was aware of some issues and was working on a solution. Problem continued to reoccur and a software update (ntb 18-041a) was completed on March 1, 2019. The update did not solve the problem. On August 20, 2019 vehicle was again brought in and documented that the system had failed showing radar stain code c1a16. A forward emergency braking sensor was to be ordered as soon as the Nissan computer network was restored to service. Dealer contacted me when part came in and an installation appointment was set for August 27. When I arrived for the install, service advisor informed me that a service bulletin had come on that morning relating to the aeb issue and refused to install the malfunctioning part. The reason given was that the field service action (p9327 Rogue aeb ntb19-064) required a current stain code and none had occurred since the diagnosis a week earlier. A complaint was made to Nissan (case # 36911652) on the afternoon of August 27. I received a call from Nissan the following day stating that they would not replace the part unless another failure occurs. In an effort to understand their response I asked them one simple question: if I understand you correctly, I have to experience another instance that could result in an accident or injury before the sensor can be installed? Nissan's response was simply yes.

30 Brake Sensor problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/16/2019

On August 16, 2019, while driving under a toll both on a turnpike, the automatic emergency breaking system engaged (flashing lights, warning beeps and a grinding noise) while I was driving about 30 to 40 mph, causing the car to stall and forcibly jerk. This almost caused me to collide against the toll booth. There was no obstruction ahead. This had already happened 2 other times and the dealership could not find anything wrong with it. I took it immediately after it happened the third time and the dealership acknowledged that they had a technical service bulletin (TSB) and reprogrammed the sensors. On their notes, they wrote "reprogram icc and adas control units (warranty) (applicable TSB)". I have driven under a toll booth after and have not experienced anything similar, however, this should have been a recall as this almost caused an accident. My Rogue only has a little over 20,000 miles on it.

31 Brake Sensor problem of the 2019 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/16/2019

Takata recall:I purchased my 2019 Nissan Rogue may 31, 2019 from clay cooley Nissan. Two months ago while driving back to work my Nissan Rogue automatically braked; a month later my blind spot sensors failed to come on resulting in a wreck. I have paid out of pocket a $1000 deductible because I assumed there was a glitch within my car. While watching gma I have learned about the recall.

32 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/14/2019

Tl- the contact owns a 2018 Nissan Rogue. While driving 30 mph, the safety brake feature engaged and there was an abnormal beeping noise. A police officer was on the scene but it was not determined if a report was taken, the local dealer was not contacted and the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 20,000. . The contact stated that she was uncomfortable driving the vehicle. Ap.

33 Brake Sensor problem of the 2019 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 07/28/2019

Around 500 miles into my lease, my Nissan stopped me while I was driving due to the automatic emergency braking system engaging. There was nothing around to brake. I took my car to the dealership and they replaced the sensors. Now around 4200 miles, I was driving on an expressway in the rain and my car produced an error "front radar unavailable due to obstruction". I took it back to the dealership and they told me I had bug dust that was messing with the sensors. They claimed there is a service bulletin that states rain, snow, frost, bugs and parking garages can cause the automatic emergency braking system to malfunction. I do not find this acceptable especially since this car has already stopped me while I was driving for no reason. I have to fight the dealerships to even look at it and then after a couple days, they tell me it is "bug dust" (literally what they told me). I live in mn. . . . I cannot avoid rain, snow, bugs or frost. The sensors are too sensitive for everyday driving.

34 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 07/26/2019

Was driving down the road and the automatic brake sensor came on and all wheels locked up almost causing someone to rearend me now I'm afraid to drive this car has happens to my husband while driving also Nissan is aware of the problem and says they can't fix it.
