Failure Date: 07/03/2019

Forward emergency braking light sporadically coming on while driving. Car has been taken to Nissan dealership and has not been properly diagnosed or properly repaired. 38 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 06/08/2019

Whilst taking my wife to work driving on a local road. At 45 mph the vehicle makes 3 beeps and then a grinding sound the vehicle then suddenly slows as if to apply the brakes when detecting an imminent crash. I take my foot off the gas and the vehicle then recovers and functions normally. Keeping in mind I've only had this vehicle for 6 months and currently have 11,286 miles on it to have sensor and braking issues is very scary and dangerous especially when it's your family hauler.

39 Brake Sensor problem of the 2019 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 05/23/2019

Driving on the highway 4 days after bought 2019 Rogue and my acceleration went down, brakes came on and warning/malfunction "symbol;" went to dealer and advised "known sensor issue where detect cameras automatically apply brakes sensing driver about to hit something" was never disclosed such a hazard was possible. Feel unsafe as drive on highway constantly.

40 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 05/21/2019

I was driving down a highway going 60 mph, no cars around me, when the aeb sensor started to go off and then braked harshly with a screeching noise. This is the first time the brakes were engaged, second time the warning sensor went off in less than 3 months.

41 Brake Sensor problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/05/2019

As I was driving through the parking garage at work, going about 20 mph, my car suddenly and very abruptly came to a screeching halt. My automatic emergency brake warning had beeped only twice before the car stopped. There was nothing in front of my car. No people or car or anything. If anybody had been behind me they might have run into me. This incident happened about a week after I took the car to Nissan to have them fix the faulty front sensor. They had first tried an update and then decided to replace the sensor. Obviously this did nothing since the sensor still did not work a week later. I took the car back in again and Nissan said nothing could be done. They told me I had the option to turn the feature off but every time I turn the car on I have to remember to turn the feature off as it automatically turns itself back on again. This seems unacceptable to me that I am paying lots of money for a car with a feature that has already put my life, as well as others lives in danger!.

42 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 03/30/2019

The car has an automatic braking system which engages if it senses an impending accident, it shows a warning and then takes control of the car and brakes if you do not. The is extremely dangerous as it malfunctions and engages when there is no threat. There are several complaints of the same senerio, Nissan has actknowleged that there is an issue - but has no fix for the sensor issue. Mine engaged twice yesterday while I was entering the freeway at app 30-40 mph. There were no cars in front of me and no obstructions. The roads were dry, it was very windy out, the ramp to the freeways both was at a slight incline with straight access. The car "sensed" I was going to hit something and emergently braked out of nowhere. There were cars behind me that almost hit me.

43 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 03/12/2019

Distance sensor malfunctioning. I have had to return it to the dealership three times for this issue. Without warning the car will slam on the brakes as if something was in its path.

44 Brake Sensor problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 03/02/2019

My car is Nissan Rogue 2017. 5. I am facing an issue related to automatic emergency break malfunction. The emergency break was applied without any reason while I was going in parking garage, passing under bridges, and crossing railroad. Sometimes the forward emergency break warning light was blinking without any reason even when the car was parked. I called Nissan consumer affaires on this issue. I was told to go to the dealer. I took my car to the dealership for 5 times. They did sensor change two times. First time they did front sensor change. Second time they did steering sensor change. Other times they tested and told there is no issue as they were unable to replicate the issue. This issue is not being happened frequently. Last night I faced the same issue. I do not know how to proceed further.

45 Brake Sensor problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 03/01/2019

2017 Nissan Rogue sl - platinum. Forward impact collision sensor has been having issues for ever a year now. It was in the shop at the dealership the week after I bought it for this issue. The car brakes on its own and wont let you drive forward. I have taken it to the dealership and reported it to Nissan USA multiple times, and have multiple cases open. The dealership has had it in their shop 8 times soon to be 9, which is 8-9 full days in the shop (taking it in next week to get done again). They are now refusing to replace/fix the part for free. The car has this problem when I am trying to drive. It has happened on back streets, highways, turning left, turning right. It senses something that isn't there and errors out and stops. 10-30 seconds later it lets you go again. This has been happening between March 2019 and may 2020 nonstop reprogrammed multiple times replaced sensor 1x (replacing for the second time next week so 2x total replacements on part) re-calibrated multiple times computer updated multiple times.

46 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 01/10/2019

While driving, the automatic emergency braking system dash light flashes. Nissan suggests the issue is due to frost. The radar sensor is located behind the front grille emblem and may be blocked due to frost build up. Nissan claims there is no problem with the vehicle, and there is no fix. How can a vehicle's braking system be unavailable, yet there is no issue? the issue should be recalled. Perhaps relocate the sensor. Also, if it is in fact due to a frosty emblem, they should add a heated emblem to prevent the build up.

47 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 11/21/2018

I recently purchased a 2018 Nissan Rogue from john sisson Nissan in western pennsylvania. The vehicle is equipped with Nissan's forward collision monitoring system. While driving on an interstate with no vehicles in front of me, the vehicle automatically applied the brakes. This caused the vehicles behind me to have to quickly react and attempt to go around me. Immediately after the incident, the system went into fault and produced several error codes. The system reset itself after powering off the vehicle. Unfortunately, a similar incident occurred a few hours latter into the trip. I subsequently turned the system off until I could get it to a dealer to be repaired. The dealer had the car for several days and I was informed that the front radar sensor was faulty and was replaced. Hopefully this has resolved the issue. I have done investigating and it appears this type of incident has been reported before and Nissan has issued several bulletins. I am question if either Nissan or the dealer knew about the issues and sold me the car anyway or even worse, failed to perform maintenace on the vehicle prior to delivery. If this issue is not addressed, it is going to cause a lot of accidents. Someone needs to look into what is going on with these vehicles.

48 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 11/02/2018

Multiple occurrences of car tire pressure monitoring system warning light appearing on dash and it seemed the brakes were going on too, without being applied. But I didn't believe that could happen on its own. It happened one time on expressway but I thought I must have hit a pothole (car was pretty new then) and happened multiple times on surface streets. Dealership told me tire pressure was not even and that sensor was very sensitive. Why the car was braking was beyond me, but was attributed to uneven tire pressure. It happened again and this time tire pressure was at 33 psi on all tires (recommended number on each tire), so I brought it to dealer again. This time it was thoroughly examined and I was questioned thoroughly on the situations when this happened. The collision monitoring system unit(s) were replaced. Car had 9,800 miles. The tire pressure monitoring system was fine. Scary situation and I must admit I'm apprehensive to be driving it still. But, it's a lease so I'm committed. I should find comfort in the fact that the parts were replaced, however, I'm not yet comfortable. So, I thought it needed to be reported so others can be aware.

49 Brake Sensor problem of the 2016 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 11/01/2018

2016 Nissan Rogue sl awd forward emergency breaking system gives warning when there is nothing in front of the vehicle. This happens sporadically, day or night, wet or dry atmosphere, and at multiple locations (straight stretchs of highway, 4 way intersections, stoplights, railroad crossings, bridges/overpasses). It has been taken to my local Nissan dealership where I purchased the vehicle multiple times as well as another local Nissan dealership expressing this issue. I have been told that my sensor was bad so it was replaced and the codes were erased from the system. This issue still happens after that repair. I have been told by service advisors that it's because the sensor is dirty or it's something that just happens. I have contacted Nissan consumer repair who state they are willing to work with me but they only keep my car for a few hours or a day and have a technician drive it to duplicate the issue with no success. I have been told that if they cannot duplicate the issue then there is no repair for it. I understandt that but, I am scared that it is going to actually activate while I am traveling to and from work on major highways at high rates of speed. My "I thought it was safe based of safety features vehicle" does not feel so safe anymore. I will not let anyone ride in the vehicle me out of fear that I may cause them harm with this issue.

50 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/25/2018

On oct 24th I was on my way to drive my autistic son to his day program which is less then a mile away. As I was driving the emergency brake came on and pulling me to a stop, then I proceeded to pull over after being shaken up along with my son. Then continue to try again. I called Nissan and they told me I can bring the car in the next day. I did and that afternoon they informed me they fixed the sensor and everything is fine now. On Nov 7th I was driving on the service road with is along side the highway going to lunch with my son and his respite worker and again the emergency brake pulled us to a stop that nearly cause us and others into a accident because its a very busy service road. Again I pulled over upset and called Nissan and I was told bring it in tomorrow morning. I headed home very slowly. That time they kept the car overnight. Again I was told it was the sensor. I picked up the car on Nov 9th. On Nov 10th my son, his worker and I were going to lunch again and then shopping so I decided to get on the highway and thats when it happen again nearly causing another incident which was extremely scary being on the highway. It pulling up and came to a stop causing beeping and cars nearly hitting us. I called Nissan very upset and they said bring it in. While driving it very very slow it did it two more times trying to stop. At that time they finally offered me a loaner and days later took it back and wanted to charge me so I gave it back. Then they told me they change the brackets near the sensor. Which should of been done the first time. I refuse to have a car an play russian roulette with mine and my families lives. I am extremely scared to go on a highway and this is what im up against.

51 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/22/2018

The forward collision avoidance (fca) / automatic emergency braking system inadvertently activated resulting the brakes being abruptly applied while driving forward on a neighborhood thoroughfare at 40 mph and nothing in front of me. . There was a vehicle following me which had to swerve around me or else there would have been a rear collision. The system generated a false warning with a beeping and dashboard lights. This is the 1st time the vehicle has applied the brakes in the 3 months I've had the vehicle. I have called the autonation pinecrest dealership and they told me to bring the vehicle in to check the fca sensor because they have similar complaints from other new Rogue owners.

52 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/18/2018

Leased a 2018 Nissan Rogue in August of 2018 and started having electrical issues with the vehicle. While driving, the navigation screen, center cluster where the speedometer is and all air condition and electronics would power off and restart itself, as if I was cranking the vehicle up. Took the car in for service and the dealership stated they had never seen this issue before and that they didn't know how to fix it. The dealership called me the next day stating the car was ready. On my way home from the dealer, the sensor system that works with the automatic emergency braking failed. I totaled the vehicle and fractured c5, c6, c7 in my neck, and had to wear a cervical collar for 4 months following the accident. I also suffered a concussion. Nissan took over and started they needed to perform an investigation. They found an issue with the sensor system in the car, and the aeb was not functioning. This could have all been avoided. 10 months later they send out a customer service initiative to have the car updated and looked at again. However the car was no longer in my possession.

55 Brake Sensor problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 07/09/2018

In early 2018 the emergency braking system has twice fully engaged bringing the vehicle to a stop when no apparent obstruction or vehicle was observed. Fortunately both times nobody was behind me. The 1st incident occurred on a city surface street at night. Upon returning the next day I saw metal plates placed in the roadway at same location for construction purposes. At the time I suspected the plates caused the emergency braking system to trigger unexpectedly. A several weeks/months later the system again fully triggered when crossing a railroad track on a city surface street. I assumed something on the crossing triggered the radar, although have crossed many times since without incident. Both times the braking system engaged there was little to no warning it was about to, just very rapid beeping and immediate brake engagement. I have also had multiple instances where the radar begins to trigger apparently due to fence posts or similar items along roads, but does not engage the brake. I have also had messages the collision sensor has turned itself off only to turn itself back on several hours later or after the car has been shut down and restarted. The emergency braking system should be fixed as the sudden stop should you be in traffic could easily result in an accident and may even cause whiplash among pssengers if traveling at a high rate of speed.

56 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 06/12/2018

Several times since I bought the car brand new, my automatic emergency braking system has activated for no apparent reason while driving with myself and children in the vehicle. The car gives a verbal warning that there is an obstruction in the road where there is nothing there, then with no time to react, it automatically brakes. This has happened at least 10-15 times since owning the vehicle. I've had the sensors replaced and done everything I can to try to get help with this vehicle. Nissan advised me that there's nothing else that can be done.

57 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/19/2018

2018 Nissan Rogue sv purchased early March 2018. Currently has less than 1,700 miles on it. Three times in less than three weeks, the automatic braking system has engaged while driving down a major roadway. Each time, the warning lights and dashboard have flashed and beeped. Only the front passenger brake has engaged, resulting in a major "grinding" noise and a serious jerk to the right. The most recent incident happened with a vehicle in my blind spot and almost resulted in a collision. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership, where they have been unable to replicate the problem and have told me there is no known issue or error code. The first time to the dealership, they allegedly reset the sensors and told me there was nothing wrong. Thursday, a week after it came home from the dealership, it happened again. My car is again at the dealership. Nissan continues to tell me this is not a known issue and they have no codes for similar complaints, but based on the number of complaints on this and other sites, it appears there are several known issues. I am now in a loaner Rogue allegedly waiting for Nissan engineers to come look at my car, which may take a week or a month. In addition to the brake issue, the engine in this vehicle also ramps up to high rpms at low speeds (as if you were punching the gas when you're not) and idles very, very loudly.

58 Brake Sensor problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/11/2018

Since purchasing the named vehicle in September 2017 brand new it has been in the shop for repairs a total of 8 times and is now sitting at the dealership because I refuse to get back into the vehicle. The car has been in the shop on several occasions concerning the brakes. Severe amounts or brake dust, brakes squealing and grinding. Rough idle, vibration and veering to the right. Duplicated and found cause engine mounts misaligned and vacuum hose was rattling. Also had to adjust the base idle. Brake dust again. Cup holder disassembled from the armrest. Collision sensor warning light malfunction came on without justifiable cause. Manufacturer defect with the front grill (warped) duplicated. The entire grill was replaced. Chirping in the window. Duplicated and the surface area was cleaned which occurred again. Detected it was the seatbelt harness. The car had a popping noise when turning and in reverse. Duplicated coming from the mount. Installed new coil, mount boot, and dampener. Several issues have occurred and there's more. This vehicle is not safe neither reliable. Each of the issues occurred while driving on the street, highway and while turning. I have over 30 pages of service orders. Too many to upload. I will upload a few important to show proof.

59 Brake Sensor problem of the 2018 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 02/01/2018

Brand new 2018 Rogue with less than 700 miles - the automatic breaking systems engaged for no reason while making a left hand turn. The car behind me had to swerve not to hit me other times the sensor light for the automatic breaking system flashes. On another day a warning code appeared stating the front sensor weren't working due to obstruction.

60 Brake Sensor problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 01/28/2018

Sunday January 28, 2018 a second totally unnecessary deployment again occurred, this time at @ 8:43 am. I was again on the southbound major deegan expressway, having entered south of yonkers avenue, but this time in the right hand lane on a slight downhill curve to the left, past mclean avenue overpass, speed 52 mph with the cruise control engaged, when the forward emergency brake system automatically deployed, for about 2 to 3 seconds. Again, there was no car immediately in front of me; no debris on the roadway; nothing that would alert the sensor. After emailing the yorktown Nissan new car dealer last week January. 25th after the first such incident, several hours later I had received no response. I then called the dealer and was directed to the service department. The receptionist would not put me through to the service manager, but instead allegedly spoke with a service dept. Person, and repliedy to me that "most likely there is dirt covering the sensor". I inquired where the sensor is, and what it looked like. She replied "the sensor looks like a little camera and it's either in your grill or in your bumper". I examined the sensor but did not detect any piece of dirt or anything covering the sensor. I'm very worried about this unexplained emergency deployment of the forward braking system, and would appreciate your response on this matter, and who to contact to see if other Nissan owners have similar experiences, and try to identify if there is any defect in the system. I am extremely worried about being rear-ended by another car when the system, for no reason, deploys the emergency braking.

61 Brake Sensor problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 12/03/2017

There is a safety issue with the front braking system. There is even a document send to the Nissan dealerships notifying them that it is a known issue, but there is no fix as of yet the engineers cannot even find a cause for the issue. I asked for a copy of the letter, but, of course, it is a "confidential" document and only privileged parties are able to have access to it. What happens is there will be an audible beeping (two-three times) and immediately after your car will slam on the brakes on it own, which in turn kicks on the anti-lock brakes. There will be nothing on the sensor or nothing in your path in front of you. It does this spontaneously. This was while I was driving!!!! this has happened to me 3 times already. When hooked up to a diagnostic tester, it throws a code that there was something in front of the sensor. The date marked on this claim/report was the last time it has happened. . . . So far. . . .

62 Brake Sensor problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 09/11/2017

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the side air bag indicator was illuminated. Additionally, while driving at unknown speeds, the vehicle decelerated without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the brake pedal sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The failure mileage was 101,000.
