After parking in a driveway for a gift delivery my car would not start and the check engine light came on. I took it into coon rapids, mn nisson service on April 2nd and they still have it today ( April 15). No idea as to what is wrong. They provided me with a rouge to use but would like my new platinum back. It only has 838 miles on it. What is going on? they said I ciuld get it back with no repairs but I do not want to drive an unsafe vehicle as I am in my 80's and do not wish to be stuck someplace when my car won't start and also with an engine warning light on. I paid $40,000. 00 for this vehicle and expect it to be right. Please respond. Msaybe a new platinum will be needed if they cannnot fix it.

We bought a used nissian Rogue and had it two days when we had no power at stop lights and the check engine light came on we went to auto zone and the ran the tester on it and came back with lots of issues with the transmission. We live pay check to pay check we can't afford a new transmission. Please tell me how to fix this problem. I'm reading alot about nissians transmissions. Please fix these there needs to be a recall for the transmissions. I promise I or no one I know will ever buy a Nissan again.
When driving between speeds of 30-45 mph the vehicle would shake, and the rpms were shifting erratically between 2000-4000 or more. The issue would correct when more speed was attained, but would return. When the accelerator was depressed, the vehicle would not respond immediately, however the rpms would increase drastically. When on the highway, using cruise control at 65 mph, the rpms would change drastically again. When the vehicle was in a full stop when exiting a highway the vehicle would not move when the accelerator was depressed to reenter traffic, the rpms immediately went above 6000 or more, and the vehicle shut off unexpectedly, with the check engine light illuminated. The vehicle was then placed in park, and ignition turned off, and turned back on again. The vehicle turned on without issue, no check engine light was on. Again, the vehicle did not respond immediately to the accelerator being depressed, but did begin to move. The vehicle is scheduled to be towed to the west herr Nissan in orchard park for repairs.
My Nissan Rogue has experienced the same issue 3 times in a 2 month period. 1st time - driving, crossing a busy intersection front end shuddered, shook heavily, check engine light came on. I was able to drive it to local mechanic who ran diagnostics and stated there were too many codes regarding the electric system and recommended I take it to dealership. Took it to local dealer, diagnostics were run again, and they reported they were not sure of the issue, suspected damage to the maf sensor (which was then throwing off the report of all other sensors). They replaced it with Nissan manufactured part and electric tape and I was told it was good to go. 2nd time - stationary making a left onto busy main street, car shuddered, stalled, no check engine light completely stopped. Unable to drive it, when changing gears it just coasted backwards (due to the hill I was on). Had it towed to the same dealer, told the same thing as previous visit not sure what's wrong, probably the sensor, was told they replaced it again with Nissan manufactured part and taped up real good this time. however could not guarantee it wouldn't happen again, also still no idea what exactly caused the stalling. 3rd time- driving straight after being stopped at res light, car stalls, engine light back on, and unable to drive it. The car coasted to the nearest shoulder and now waiting for a tow truck to take me to a different dealership, whom hopefully can fix the problem that continues to happen.
I was driving on the interstate coming from indianapolis, indiana going 75 miles per hour. After three hours of driving, my car suddenly began decreasing it's speed and would not accelerate. The check engine light came on andi had to pull over to the side and turn off my car. I called for a tow truck using my insurance company. , but after turning off the car for fifteen minutes, it was driveable again. The check engine light stayed on the entire ride home, and for about two weeks.

Without warning, the engine in my car intermittently shuts off while driving. This happens when the car is in motion. The car loses power to the steering wheel and breaks. Because the car is in motion when this occurs, I cannot put the car in park and restart it. I have to put it in neutral and turn the key to restart it. The problem seems to occur when driving the car for longer distances, although not on the highway. Use of the air conditioner or heat seem to make the issue worse. I have only had the check engine light flash once prior to this happening. The battery is still on, so the radio is still operational, as are all of the dashboard lights. I often don't know that the engine has shut off until I try to accelerate or break and am unable to do so. It is extremely unsafe. I have almost caused multiple accidents. I have taken the car to the Nissan dealership for a 5 point inspection and to have them drive the vehicle. I was turned away and they advised that they were unable to replicate the issue.

Nissan Rogue sport 2017 with 2k miles. Car has issues starting. Engine will turn over a couple times before starting. On 11. 29. 2017, car stalled at a stop sign and engine completely turned off. It took two tries for the car to start up again. Brought to Nissan reno immediately. Nissan reno called on 11. 30. 2017 stating the dx test came back without any negative results. Nissan stated that the car started fine for them and test drove it. Check engine light it not on. Extremely concerned as this is a major safety concern. What if I was on the freeway or major hwy and the engine would just turn off? I don't feel comfortable driving my brand new car that I've only owned for one month. This issue, if occurs again can cause injury to myself or another individual.
3rd time check engine light came on. 1st time they said it needed computer update. Next they said it needed a coil put in. Now it need a whole new engine.

I started my Rogue and left a driveway as I approached a stop sign about 2 miles ahead the car stalled. I was still in gear, the engine was off, and the check engine light was on. After stopping I was able to restart the car after a few tries. Then, for the next 2-4 miles it revved really high and seem to be in a recover mode and would not allow me to go over 40 mph. The service center can't replicate and claims that the oil was overfull. There were some codes but they didn't feel those applies to the incident therefore this issue isn't warrantied. This is a major safety concern for myself, my family, and other drivers on the road that Nissan refused to acknowledge or remedy.

I was leaving a store and gas light came on. I knew that I had fill up before entering the I-95 interstate and I was a bit perplexed. I drove to a gas station and filled up once again and notice that the gas gauge filled to its capacity. This occurred a few months ago and I dismissed it. On 9/19/13, I stopped at a gas station and the check engine light came on. On 9/20/13 I took the vehicle to the dealership for a diagnostic check and was told that I needed a fuel sending unit which would cost me $1,087 which includes parts and labor. Of course, I decline to repair it because at that time I was frustrated with Nissan and was thinking about trading in the car. Previously, I took the vehicle back on two occasions for transmission problems which I was grateful that it was under warranty. The dealership replaced the transmission and treated this incident an occurring problem with 09 Rogue. I only have this vehicle for 1. 5 years and I am fearful each time that I drive. Even the triple a young man told me to get rid of it because within the last month he has to tow quite a few. My commute on interstate each day is worrisome because I don't know what is going to happen next. Now I am stuck with a new problem with this vehicle that I am still paying for and spending more money on gas because I don't know what can happen . Please we must do something with this company Nissan. I placed a complaint today 9/23/13 and was told they would call me back since they don't have any information with this type of recall. (liars) they are lots of complaints about the fuel sending unit on Nissans. I am not certain if I will continue to make payments on a car that I truly feel unsafe with or write off my loss and look for another vehicle. Either way, I had to write this complaint since I have never felt so unsafe driving a vehicle.
The first incident happened last summer. While going up a hill at 75mph (speed limit in that state), the cruise control cut off, and vehicle lost power, and rpm's would not exceed 2500 rpm and would not go over 60mph, which every time I hit a hill, would decrease to 40mph. This happened 3 times in the next two hours, where rpm's would not exceed 2500 rpm, which is very dangerous when semi-trucks are behind you. A search online stated this was the transmission going into fail-safe mode, although the dealership stated no, because a code would come back. For almost a year, I would not take my car out of town for work, for fear this would happen again. Decided to take it on a long road trip this August, and again, the same incident occurred. This time, the only way to get rpm's and mph's back, was to pull over and let the car sit for 20 minutes or so. It would then drive normal for anywhere from 30 min-1 hour, before loosing power again. Took it into dealership upon arriving home, and this time, there is a bulletin for the transmission fluid overheating, and it needs a cooler, to the tune of $1,400 and is 2 months backordered. I was told this problem would only occur on long road trips, and I would be fine taking it on a 5 hr trip that weekend. Come 3 days later, 45 minutes into the trip, the cruise control cut off, began blinking, check engine light came on, and rpm's decreased to btwn 2000-2500. Pulled over to let it cool, and then it would not accelerate over 40mph on the highway. Decided to turn back around, and 3 times on the way home (appx. Every 15 minutes), I lost all power. The car was still running, but the rpm's would not go over 0, and the car would not move. Had to let it sit for 15-20 minutes each time, and then was able to drive 15 min, before loosing all power again. Took it into auto shop, and code reads, "p1778", which is "step-motor malfunction".
We had a check engine light come on, took it to the dealer the next day said it was nothing. Went on a trip 200 ish miles on the way home I had to pass a car and when I stepped on the gas nothing happened. I was left looking at on coming traffic and had to move back over. No acceleration at all. Scared we were going to ruin it by driving any longer I pulled over. We had lunch and tried again about an hour later it seemed fine. About 15 mins into the drive it did the same thing. Not sure exactly what the problem is but I believe it has something to do with the transmission. Also yesterday it rained and now the traction control light has come on. The car is far to new to have these kind of problems, and they could cause accidents.
I am scared to drive my Rogue 2011 after having several serious problems with my car. The first incident happened in January 2012. I just pulled out into oncoming traffic when my car felt heavy and dragging as I pushed on the accelerator. I was pushing down hard on the gas and the car was barely moving. Then it died in the middle of the intersection. This put me in a dangerous situation. It was towed to the dealer and repaired. The second incident took place 4 days later. The same exact thing happened again, but this time I was able to pull over to the side of the road before the car died. I had it towed to the dealer for repairs again. On February 3, 2012 I was driving on the highway when the engine light came on and my car began shaking and vibrating. I drove somewhere safe and then had it towed to the dealer. I am hoping the car will be recalled because I am afraid to drive my car and I don't have any other transportation. This is not normal to have such serious problems with a new car.
