On Wednesday, may 11, 2021 I was in an accident that totalled my car out. Running at 45 miles per hour on a decline hill a deep jump straight center of my vehicle causing the collision. Airbags never deployed. Upon investigation I found that in June 2017, there was a recall for this particular reason. I checked the NHTSA website and it shows that the only runrepaired recall at this time is for a stop lamp switch.

Sometime in April 2019 all of a sudden all the buttons switches in the steering wheel including cruise control; radio volume radio stations; the horn all stopped working without notice, also the air bag light began flashing. I asked the mechanic about that and he said lot if Nissans have that problem. He said I might need to get the combination switch?.

Occupant classification system (OCS) "from owners manual" after ignition switch is placed in the "on" position, the front passenger air bag status light on the instrument panel illuminates for about 7 seconds and turns off or remains illuminated depending on the front passenger seat occupied status. *unoccupied front passenger's seat: the light is off and the front air bag is off. And will not inflate in a crash. On my vehicle the light remains on constantly even when unoccupied, it does not turn off as stated. After reading numerous complaints from other Nissan owners, it is apparent the dealer does not want to "fix" the problem and just creates argument over the status of the light even when shown the owners manual on the proper operation of the front passenger air bag status light. It is very distracting and annoying with this bright yellow light in the middle of the dash, constantly on, especially at night when it is most noticeable. The light comes on from the time you start the car until you turn the car off, even when no one is sitting in the front passenger seat. Took car to dealer and they are not willing to fix the problem, they say it is working if the light remains on even when the front seat is unoccupied. That is not what the owners manual states, nor is it what other Nissan owners have been complaining about. The light should not stay on when the seat is unoccupied.

I was in an accident in November. The passenger airbag failed to deploy and the driver broke their nose and then fled the scene. I was unconsious in the passenger seat when wmts arrived and do to the driver fleeing I was charged with the accident and insurance failed to pay the settlement. All on claims that had I been in the passenger seat the airbag would have went off. I know that Nissan has airbag problems all around the year of my car but am trying to find if any of these defective parts are in my car and could have caused a non deployment. The cops estimated that we were going 50 mph and hit a tree. I was asleep in the passenger seat so am not sure of how my body was positioned if it had effect on the pressure switch. I was severly injured 4 broken ribs broken nexk and multiply facial lacerations from the passenger side windsheild.

I was on a four lane public highway and was boxed into the far right lane as I was attempting to switch lanes to avoid traffic. Another car sped up and boxed me into the right lane. I slammed on the brakes and decreased my speed from 45 mph to approximately 20-30 mph. I crashed into a completely stopped Jeep cherokee. My Nissan sustained heavy frontal damage and would later be totaled. The airbags failed to deploy. The car I ran into was a Jeep so the bumper ran through my engine and upward. Had I been going faster this action would have continued through the windshield. The only thing that saved myself from injury was the fact that I was wearing my seatbelt. I sustained the typical whiplash and sore back but thankfully wasn't severely injured in the crash. I have pictures of the severity of the impact as well as testimony from a local officer who inspected the crash that the airbags never deployed.
