I was driving this car but had stopped to let traffic by (in a turn lane) when an oncoming truck barrelled toward me & hit me head-on, going about 40 mph. His truck bent in the whole front of my Sentra but my neither my driver-side or passenger-side airbag went off to protect me & my daughter! there is a recall on the airbags, citing they could erupt & are dangerous, so I don't know if it's good or bad that they didn't deploy?? we were stopped & still in a turn lane on a city street. My car was totalled & wrecker got it. Few weeks later it was sent to salvage/auction company. I am disabled &can't upload pictures etc but can send you email w of my insurance adjuster & police report if you tell where to send it. But I don't know how to upload things, etc. I just think the bags should have deployed but didn't. However I hadn't been able to take car in for airbag recall yet, as told to do before this accident.

Last month I was involved in an accident that could have been avoided if my sensors were working properly, my emergency brake system did not employ after being involved in an accident I used my standard brake the car went down being rear-ended somebody but I had plenty of time to stop with only the front brakes to bullying allowed my car to nosedive and slide emergency brake was not released and stopped working because of sensors were no longer telling the car to break I had full coverage insurance and insurance and not covering my car because the car lot did not advise me of his problem or the recalls on this car I've been working with my credit for over 2 years now and because I'm neglected to tell me what was wrong with the car I have to set for now, and I also noticed that only the driver side airbag deployed and me and my daughter were in the car and that was the only safety feature that was released with my credit being bad I was forced to a high Apr rate and nearly $40,000 for a Nissan Sentra that wasn't worth $0. 25.

Hello, my daughter was involved in a motor vehicle accident in which the driver side airbag deployed. She developed some deep cuts on her head and I believe a fracture. I am concerned that her car might be part of the takata airbag recall because I believe that there were pieces of metal from the airbag that caused the deep cuts on her head. Please investigate this. I don't have any photos right now or police reports, but I can get that information if required. Thanks.

Takata recall; after purchasing vehicle and driving for about 10 minutes; check engine light suddenly comes on prior to picking up speed to enter highway; vehicle abruptly loses power at a speed of 65 miles per hour and stalls in traffic causing a near fatal traffic accident; after running the VIN number in NHTSA database vehicle was never recalled for grossly negligent issue with crankshaft and camshaft position sensors. This leads me to the fact that vehicle manufacturer never contacted original owner concerning this terrible safety issue. After finding out about two outstanding recalls that were never addressed in which the vehicle has exhibited potential catastrophic consequences based upon the manufacturers product defect it was uncovered that the vehicle has a potential fatal issue with the passenger side airbag. I am extremely terrified to operate this vehicle and my experience on October 1, 2016 of operating this vehicle and it losing power abruptly risking my life and limb has caused me extreme depression, stress, and mental anguish. If these issues are not corrected immediately as a remedy at law with the nearest Nissan dealer including towing at manufacturer's expense, I and the texas office of the attorney general will pursue a gross product liability negligence legal action against Nissan based upon my legal advice and texas law; which clearly states that in a product liability dispute the statute of limitations is 15 years from sale unless manufacturer says useful life is longer. Texas civil practice & remedies code ann. § 16. 012. Thank you for your time and attention to this serious safety matter.

After driving the car one evening the engine spontaneously caught a fire. The fire deptartment said it started from some problem in the engine. In addition we notice the heat of the fire did not deploy the driver and passenger side air-bags. Normally in many cases of car fires the fire will deploy the emergency air-bags and cause the car alarm to sound this did not happen with my incident.
The car was hit in the driver and rear door at approximately 40miles per hour. The side airbag was too forceful causing serious injury to eye and burns mark. We feel the airbag was more harm than good, at the point of almost losing eyesight in one eye.
The contact owned a 2006 Nissan Sentra. While driving at an unknown speed, the contact crashed the vehicle into a house. The driver and passenger side air bags deployed; however, the contact discovered that the passenger side air bag contained a hole. The contact sustained minor injuries from the air bag deployment, but did not receive medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v287000 (air bags); however, the failure was already experienced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that their daughter was involved in an accident and even though both air bags deployed. The driver side and passenger side air bags exploded and in turn, totaled the vehicle. The passenger side exploded and just after the contact was able to get out of the vehicle the driver side air bag exploded. The explosions happened after the air bags deployed and the vehicle sat for a few minutes. The police took a report and the contacts daughter was taken to the hospital. The contact did a VIN look up and found that their vehicle was included in a recently released NHTSA recall campaign 15v287 (air bags), but had not been notified to have the vehicle repaired. The VIN was not available. Rl.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Sentra. While the vehicle was not in use, the driver and passenger side air bags deployed independently. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing where it was diagnosed that the air bags and passenger side seat belt needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 180,000.
Driver side air bag alert blinking. Nissan claims no recall and states that they must replace the air bag in order to run diagnostic tests. My car is in perfect working order so my question to you is; what constitutes a mandatory recall? must consumers wait until there are a certain number of incidents before it is determined a faulty part?.

The passenger-side airbag improperly deployed thereby exploding and rupturing which resulted in significant and permanent injuries.
I received a notice of a recall for the driver's side airbag of my 2002 Nissan Sentra in the mail, which instructed me to make an appointment with my local Nissan dealership to have the necessary repairs made free of charge. I made an appointment and appeared at the dealership, and the dealer is telling me that they cannot complete the repairs because the recall is not yet archived in their system, and that the system will take one business day to become available. This difficulty contradicts the very nature of a recall: to ensure the safety of the driver as soon as possible. Because of an inadequacy of their "system"--they are fully equipped mechanically to do the repair--I'm expected to drive home and return a different day with an unsafe driver's side airbag.
The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked and shut off when she closed the front driver's door and all of the side air bags deployed. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the contact was informed that the failure was due to a manufacturers defect. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 31,892.
My daughter was driving to school going 20 mph on a straight road when the drivers side, side airbags went off after she closed the middle console.

On July 20, 2010, I was stopped at a traffic light when I was rear-ended by another vehicle. The force of the crash was such that the rear of the car I was driving sustained several thousand dollars in damage. The force also, propelled me into the car stopped in front of me. This other car sustained damage to their bumper to dislodge it from its supports and throw their rear window off track. There is no place in the repair bill that stated that the airbag was reset because it failed to deploy. Given the fact that the rear crumple zone was destroyed, and the rear quarter panels were replaced, this car is rented by budget under the guise of it being safe. The paperwork I received from budget also states that the features of this Nissan Sentra (2010) is front, rear and side airbags. Since all of the rear of the car was destroyed it can be safely assumed that the airbag sensor should have been triggered. If both from the rear of the car definitely from the force of my car being propelled into the car in front of me. Budget rented this car as being a "safe" car with this Nissan safety equipment when it clearly is not.

Front passenger side airbag on our 2009 Nissan Sentra is not disarming when our 8 year old son, who is 67 pounds, is sitting in the front passenger seat.
On December 29, 2008, my son and his girlfriend were involved in an auto accident. He was driving a 2006 Nissan Sentra with side airbags. His vehicle was hit on the driver's side. The driver's front airbag and side airbag deployed. The passengers' front airbag deployed however the passenger's side airbag did not deploy. Injuries - driver - right femur fracture right tibia and fracture to left pelvis; passenger - severe head injury. Are all airbags supposed to deploy or not when the vehicle is involved in an auto accident?.
My wife skidded off a freshly graveled road and nose-dived into a ditch frontend first, catapulted the vehicle into a c/clockwise spin and wrapped the vehicle around a tree. The original impact was front end and no airbags deployed. The passenger side was completely crushed hitting the tree with what would appear as a side curtain airbag deployment. On investigation, it appears the air bag was torn out of the center wall (no propellant smell or residue). Had the air bags deployed there would not have been injuries that certainly would not have required med-a-vac. Jpc/SC .
Consumer states vehicle was involved in a collision were the passenger and drivers side airbag deployed. Consumer states the electrical system failed and consumer was trapped in vehicle. Consumer states the chemical from airbag took all oxygen out of vehicle and consumer could hardly breath. Please provide any further information.

- the contact owns 2001 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that the problem wasthe passenger's side air bag. The contact had been told that the passenger's side air bag module had been replaced twice. Each time after having the replacement made a couple of days later he could see the corners of the air bag lifting up again. The contact was unsure if the air bag was actually replaced or whether the original was repaired poorly. The contact stated that the air bag kept coming up in the same place. Ak

My husband was in an accident in July of this year. He collided head on with some 50 gallon barrels on the side of the road going 60 mph. He came to a complete stop within 10 feet. Neither the driver side nor passenger side airbag deployed in the accident. Nissan was contacted and responded saying that the conditions were not met to allow the airbags to deploy. I do not know where to go from here. Our car would have been totaled if the airbags would have deployed. Howerver, because they did not the insurance company repaired the vehicle and now we are driving around in a death trap. I am paying full price for a vehicle that is defective and no one at Nissan seems to care. Where do I go from here. . What do I do?.
