Front Air Bag Problems of Nissan Sentra - part 1

Hi there, I have a 2006 Nissan Sentra 1. 8 s and unfortunately I have an single traffic accident on 31 Dec, 2009. I skid on the snowy-icy highway and hit the road side barriers about 20-30 mph. Airbags didn't deployed. I injured my neck. I sent all informations Nissan USA about me, vehicle and accident to and asked why? however, they couldn't give me any reasonable answer. I got final response from Nissan almost 2 months later than accident. They forward me to dealer for airbag diagnosis but it's not free of charge. I have all records about accident and Nissan. The car was involved a front impact accident which was hard enough to result in the vehicle being deemed as a total loss by the insurance company. In this accident neither the passenger nor the driver air bags deployed.

I was driving my 1997 Nissan Sentra xe hit a small bump going at a low speed and my dual air bags deployed busting my windshield on the passenger side and on the drivers side it hit me in the face while I was driving causing bruising around my right eye.

My wife skidded off a freshly graveled road and nose-dived into a ditch frontend first, catapulted the vehicle into a c/clockwise spin and wrapped the vehicle around a tree. The original impact was front end and no airbags deployed. The passenger side was completely crushed hitting the tree with what would appear as a side curtain airbag deployment. On investigation, it appears the air bag was torn out of the center wall (no propellant smell or residue). Had the air bags deployed there would not have been injuries that certainly would not have required med-a-vac. Jpc/SC .

My wife was involved in an accident last night in our 2007 Nissan Sentra, she rearended the car in front of her that stopped short, she slammed on the brakes when it happened and there was no response(the car didn't slow down at all) and the air bags did not go off, she hit the car in front of her between 30-40 mph, and she hit her head on the steering wheel, luckily there was no severe injuries, but in contacting Nissan they didn't seem to care to much(expected that they aren't going to take any blame) but when I contacted the dealership they told me the car needs to be checked out to see why this happened.

I was rear ended by a Mercury minivan (estimated speed 30 mph) and pushed into a Dodge minivan. The front bumper got cracked in half, the radiator and battery were also displaced. The trunk was damaged, the rear bumper was almost torn off and the rear drivers side panel shows dents beyond the gas cap. I am being told that because I was rear impacted, and pushed into a vehicle with a higher bumper than my own the air bags may not have been supposed to deploy. A rear impact still throws you forward, and the number of suvs and Mini vans on the road makes this seem like a major hazard. Pictures of my car after the accident can be provided upon request.

I was involved in a crash on the mentioned date. A lady ran a red, yellow, or a green yield light. I smashed the front end of my car going approximately 25-30 mph into her front passenger side fender totaling my car valued at $10500. The car was a 2002 Nissan Sentra ser. My main complaint is the air bags did not go off. I was under the impression that any head on collision going 10 mph or above, the air bags should deploy. The other driver made a imp left turn and I hit his 2006 f150 truck with 2006 Nissan Sentra. I was going about 40 to 45 miles per hour. My air bags did not di-deploy. My auto is at mike shad Nissan being repaired for physical damage. I have contacted Nissan to check the air bags out I was told it would be about 6 weeks before the report would be complete. I'm just a scared to drive an auto if the air bags are defected. I want to know before I drive the Nissan back off the lot. The physical damage should be repaired in about 6 days.

Consumer's vehicle was involved in a frontal collision at 40 mph with another vehicle and neither frontal air bag deployed. Driver sustained minor injuries to the shoulder and the right arm from the seat belt. Insurance company reported the incident to the dealer and manufacturer.

My father was invloved in an accident in my car a 97 Nissan Sentra on September 18,2003 he was going about 10 mph. The air bags deployed but not as they should they exploded there are holes in them with burnt edges. My sons nose and cheek were burnt thank goodness he's ok except for the fact that he won't get in a car anymore. I'm writing to ask if this is a defect with my air bags. I tried calling Nissan directly but always got disconnected. I guess they are just tired of hearing everyone complaints. I just need to know what I can do if anything about this problem because I'm an unemployed student and need a vehicle but now I can't afford one so please tell me if this is a problem that I need to bring to Nissan's attention.

While traveling at 35 mph, another vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign. Consumer hit the other drivers rear door area. Consumer states none of the airbags deployed. Consumer was injured. Please provide any further information. Ts.

In an accident vehicle went under a truck, and none of the air bags deployed on impact, the driver sustained a cuncussion, facial and chest bruises, three broken bones in the right foot and now suffers from headaches (sometimes severe).

While driving 30-35 mph vehicle hit a concrete wall. A few seconds later, vehicle crashed, and both airbags deployed. Consumer was hit in face by driver's airbag. No major injuries, bruises only. Damage to vehicle unknown at this time.

Driving about 30 mph consumer hit another vehicle head on, neither airbag deployed.

While traveling about 30 mph on wet road driver slid into a truck, and neither airbag deployed.

While traveling on freeway at 50 mph consumer was exiting ramp when brakes stopped working, consumer had to swerve and hit a brick building at 30 to 40 mph. Brakes finally did kick in, and it did slow vehicle down a little before hitting a brick wall. A deer stepped in front of vehicle which was traveling 55 mph. Deer was hit from left front, rolled across road upon impact with deer, neither air bags deployed. Driver suffered a broken two bulging discs one against spine. The seat belt also failed to restrain . The consumer resulting in serious injury.

Engine was turned off. Consumer shut door when dual airbags deployed without any prior warning,or any impact. Dealer and manufacturer refused to assist consumer.

While driving at 55-60 mph, had a frontal accident, the defective driver's and passenger's airbag system in which the driver's side deployed, and the passenger's did not deploy, causing extreme injuries to the occupant, including bone breakage in the face.

The vehicle drove over a curb, hitting the undercarriage of the vehicle, causing both driver's and passenger's airbags to deploy at very low speed which resulted injuries to the occupant.

Driver hit highway divider and air bag didn't deploy.

The driver was parking and slightly hit a bump and the driver's and passenger's airbags deployed.

Owner hit a light post and the air bag didn't deploy.

While driving 5 mph and making a left turn vehicle hit a curb, causing both the driver's and passenger's air bags to prematurely deploy. Please give further details.
