The front bumper sensor is detecting things in the road that aren't there and automatically applying the brakes on my car. When this happens, there's a loud almost grinding sound and the car brakes very hard. The other issue I'm having is the car will sometimes detect someone in the passenger seat when it's empty and turn on the buckle seat belt light and turn off the air bag off light for the passenger seat.

The dash sensor light that indicates when the passenger airbag is deactivated often lights up while adult passengers are in the seat. Typically it takes 15 minutes of driving to reset the light. This happens regularly.
I had an accident, I was stuck behind the vehicle and the bag lights, evaporation sensors, and gasoline went in to take it to the car agency and they warned me that it is okay but today the vehicle inspection of the state does not pass.

Having issues with my passenger seat occupancy sensor. The only correction the dealer issued was to replace the seat with a new or used seat. A new seat would be over $3,000 and a used one well over $700 plus labor to change seat covers. Error code b1018. The vehicle is beyond warranty however, because this is an obvious safety issue regarding faulty hardware, I feel Nissan should graciously address this without charge. There are airbag recall campaigns open for other Nissan models regarding this very issue but it unfortunately does not include my 2008 Nissan Sentra. The recall obviously needs to be expanded! at this point I may be forced to acquire a used seat at a local junk yard, but it would be impossible to verify the sensor is working in the used seat prior to installation. Again, this is an obvious safety issue and should be addressed promptly. Thank you for your time!.

Was a recall on passenger airbag sensor and I had that done but sometimes the light staying on when someone in the seat . And yes theyre over 100 lbs . I have taken pictures but the dealership will not look at them .
The OCS does not detect an adult occupant in the passenger seat, the passenger air bag is deactivated. Failure of the passenger airbag to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk injury or death to the passenger. This issue has been escalated to the elk grove Nissan repair center multiple times. Elk grove informed me they reset the programming of the sensor and uninstalled and installed the seat to try to resolve the issue. The issue continues to occur especially when the vehicle has been parked on a non level surface for a period of time.
My passenger airbag "on/off" light on the center console lights (meaning passenger airbag off) at completely random times while the car is in motion. The light will illuminate when driving down the road at any speed and condition without a passenger in the seat or other times with a passenger in the seat. Conditions include gravel roads, highway, stop and go traffic, normal city driving, even parking lot driving. I have photos and videos documented for both scenarios. My wife is very worried when she is in the passenger seat while were driving down the highway and suddenly her airbag says it has turned off. I have included a cell phone picture of the passenger seat empty with the light on. I was doing approximately 55mph on flat level dry paved road when the photo was captured. I believe the problem being caused by faulty seat sensors in the passenger seat base. The problem is ongoing and started approx. 2/15/16 with 3100 miles on the vehicle. I will be taking it to a dealer on 5/20/16.

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Sentra. While operating the vehicle, the air bag sensor light would continuously blink off and on. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the air bag system was faulty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000. The VIN was not available.
My car was parked in my apartment parking lot. I was in the driver seat when my passenger excited the vehicle and slammed the door shut. My curtain airbags deployed from the front windshield to bed back rear window. As well as my passenger seat airbag deployed. Nissan would not and could not fix the airbags because the part a needed to be repaired were not found. Japanese car shops would not fix them because it was a liability on them and feared them deploying again. Lawyers wouldn't take the case because the damage wasn't worth their time. And my insurance company would not cover the damages because there was no accident or collison. For over a year and half I drove a totaled car around with my young infant that did not have an air bag system in it now what do ever because the sensors blew when this obscured and then had to pay out of pocket which I didn't have to get rid of the car and roll over my negative equity from this vehicle.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that the air bag sensor light illuminated indicating that the air bag system was faulty. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who indicated that the air bag wiring harness was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified but no solution was offered. The failure mileage was 40,000.
This is the third transmission on the vehicle, last one was one year ago. The airbags sensor came on all of sudden for no reason and they wanted to charge me a bunch of money just to check it (not to repair it, just look at it first). After they changed out the transmission it magically fixed it self? the tire sensor is displaying that it's faulty / not working properly.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Sentra. The contact received a recall notification under NHTSA campaign id number 14v138000 (air bags , electrical system). The contact contacted the dealer who reprogrammed the computer and replaced the sensors under the seat. The contact stated that the problem recurred five times after the repairs were made. The contact also stated that the seat belt light was illuminated while no one was seated on the passenger seat. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 800. I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra and the curtain air bags and seat air bags deployed when the driver's door of the vehicle was slammed. The car was not in motion but the key was in the ignition. Took it to a dealer and was told that they do not think this would be covered by warranty to contact my insurance company. The vehicle was involved in a rear accident 3 months prior but no air bags deployed only the trunk was smashed in. I was also told that the repairs to the trunk could have caused a malfunction. The car was only examined at the dealership I was told that Nissan corporate office was involved but never was called nor has the car been inspected by a professional. This too me is very unsafe and inconsiderate of Nissan to ignore this matter. What if the car was in motion what type of accident or injury this would have caused. I feel they should have at least inspected the car by a professional to make sure this was not a sensor issue and to confirm that it not their fault.

The passengers seat air bag sensor does not recognize when there is someone sitting and will not activate. I took the car to service and the guy told me that maybe it was because I was too skinny and maybe the sensor did not recognize that there was someone is actually sitting in the passengers seat. It is very dangerous because in a car accident it will probably not work. The car also have an annoying noise each time I hit the breaks in the back right side of the car. It have been 3 months and 3 service visits and several calls to service, distributors, etc. And I have not received an answer on how or when they will fix the problem. They told me to keep using the car because it was not a safety issue, but the brakes have gone blank twice making me very nervous of using the car. Still no answer from Nissan.
Insufficient headrest foam coverage. Foam degrades or self moves out of position to reveal internal metal frame which runs across entire headrest at point of head impact. Part does not seem serviceable for repair, and should be replaced by manufacturer with updated version. Check engine light and airbag light are both triggered too easily by too many sensors, so vehicle is constantly in shop with no trouble found. Seems like it was designed by an overly-worried car manufacturer, or for the purposes of making owners feel the car needs to be replaced. It also greatly increases the likely hood of failing an annual inspection. The safety issue stems from all the blinking lights on the dash which are very distractive, especially at night, and usually completely unnecessary. In 1996, there was a recall for insufficient brake light illumination on the Sentra model. Nissan's fix for this was a brighter bulb. Since my car was bought used, and the prior owner did not upgrade to the new bulbs, and there is no listing for the replacement bulbs, owner's may not know how to upgrade their brake lights. Nissan dealers do not seem to know what bulb to replace it with for better illumination. This is an obvious safety issue, as there are many 1996 Nissan Sentras on the road today.

My service engine soon light was on for over a week. The dealer told me by phone to pull over if it started flashing. After the car was checked, it turned out it needed a " new mass air flow sensor". It was a Saturday so the service writer couldn't reach Nissan motor corp to see if I had to pay. I did call Nissan motor corp myself because the service writer told me Tuesday the service manager said I have to pay. The rep at Nissan motor corp spoke to the service manager and nthing was solved. Since I had a coupon, I did save over $200 but still had to pay $534. 07 on a 2000 car. I feel this is a safty feature that Nissan should not of made me pay for. I didn't purchase the car from this dealer.

My engine failed again while driving 70 mphs on the freeway, the very day after the car had been repaired for yet another defect sensor. It was a miracle I did not crash and kill anyone including myself. Each and every time I have taken the car in, I have requested it be checked for a short in the wiring. Each time I was told no. I later learned thar meant if it didn't show up on the computer, then they wouldn't look for it specifically. Following the latest hazard, I got in Nissan's face. Nissan found a defect oxygen sensor this time. Upon retesting the vehicle, the emc (the brain of the vehicle) was found to be defective. I was also told had I driven the car any longer, the air conditioning unit would have blown too. Well, that explains all the lousy gas mileage this past year. So, here it is a week later and my vehicle remains in the shop with a back ordered emc with no available stock date in sight. I am renting a vehicle and am receiving very little assistance from Nissan as to getting a rental vehicle in the meantime. I am quite concerned I have purchased a brand new spanking yellow lemon. I am quite concerned this vehicle, even with a new emc, will produce other defective sensors once the warranty has expired due to wear and tear from the old one. There are 45 sensors in the vehicle and only 5-10 have blown so far. I am quite certain others are close to failure too. I am just as concerned when both the Nissan representative and the service manager told me this part has been on back order for a very long time as so many vehicles have endured this problme, that the vehicle has not yet been recalled.

Airbag light has illuminated twice, the first time the dealer replaced the problem under warranty, now at 78,836 miles the airbag light is again illuminated, the consumer feels the dealership shoud replace this being it's only 20,000 miles later and has failed again.
The air bag light came on and started flashing. Whenever driving, air bag light would stay on. Took to dealer to checked, but has not been repaired yet.
Airbag sensor failed.
