1 Instrument Panel problem of the 2013 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 05/26/2014

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that there was a sudden loss of power steering as the vehicle stalled. The contact mentioned that the brake pedal had become hard and was unable to be depressed. The emergency brake was activated in order to stop the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle was able to restart. Additionally, the contact stated that the instrument panel would flicker intermittently and the vehicle would stall. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed for the initial failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 22,000. The VIN was not available.

2 Instrument Panel problem of the 2001 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 04/18/2013

The vehicle was purchased used in oklahoma in April 2013, and all the dash gauges quit on the way home, along with the odometer going out. After the car cooled down, the gauges/odometer started working again. The car was then driven cross country to washington state, and when the heater was turned on, and after a few minutes, the gauges/odometer stopped working again. Once cooled off, the gauges/odometer would start working again. The car was then driven to texas, and the same issues came up, all centered around temperature. It seems when the heater is turned on (while the vehicle was in wa), or if it is hot outside (the drive to texas, and while the car has been in texas), the gauges will stop working after a period of time, and will start working again once the temperature inside the car has cooled down. Currently we are having 100 degree weather days in texas, so if the car is hot when leaving the house, the gauges won't work, until the ac has been on enough to cool the inside of the car (and I assume gauges) down. Using the car after the ac has been on and the inside of the car is cool, there is no problem with the gauges. If you turn the ac off and roll the windows down, once the heat builds up in the car (about 85 degrees or so), the gauges will go off again.

3 Instrument Panel problem of the 2003 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 06/28/2009

The contact owns a 2003 Nissan Sentra. While driving 40 mph, the check engine light illuminated on the instrument panel. Once the contact turned off the vehicle, it did not restart until the following day. Once the vehicle was started, the contact noticed that the tachometer was not working. The vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. The current and failure mileages were 86,000.

5 Instrument Panel problem of the 2002 Nissan Sentra

Failure Date: 07/17/2007

2002 Nissan Sentra se-r we own has been giving us a re-occurring problem with both the unified meter that controls the speedometer and affects the ecm to throw up the engine light to come on. . Causes a massive slow down in speed when the speedometer goes out while driving. . Brought this to the attention to a local Nissan dealer, mike shad of orange park and was informed not to worry about the engine light and just have the ecm "reflashed". We followed the instructions from the service center of mike shad Nissan and had the system reflashed. . Speedometer worked briefly and went out again. . To this day it continues to stay on "engine light", and the speedometer still works off and on and continues to wreak havoc on maintaining a safe speed. Also a major issue regarding the "long engine crank time before engine starts". I have found information thru the internet informing there is a TSB on this issue on this particular vehicle ('02 Sentra) and have submitted an email to the service dept of mike shad Nissan to address this issue but no response. This problem with the crank time endangers not only me but my family as well. I cannot trust the car to crank properly which therefore puts the reliability factor in jeopardy when my wife drives the car to pick up my daughter for school and use the vehicle to and from work. I found information about this problem thru the Nissanhelp website regarding the technical service bulletin "long engine crank time before engine starts" indicating a primary part failure on a faulty fuel pump that needs to repaired/replaced. . .
