Had brakes/rotors replaced at approximately 11000 miles when the shaking made the vehicle unsafe to drive. I am now at 17000 miles and the truck is doing the same thing. 42 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2004 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 04/14/2005

Brake rotors became warped with only 5,000 miles on my 2004 Titan se crew cab. Dealer says have to bring it in for 2 fixes, that they know don't work in the long run, before Nissan will allow them to order the parts for the permanent fix of installing larger heavy duty rotors along with some other parts. This is a very dissappointing reponse from Nissan for a very serious and very common problem. Also, I've spoken with approx. 5 Titan owners and all have the same problem.

43 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2005 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 04/12/2005

Purchased a new 2005 Nissan Titan 4-door pick-up truck in February 2005. Both the manufacturer as well as the dealership knew of an existing safety problem regarding the braking system of both 2004 and 2005 Titan pick-up truck models, but failed to alert myself of the problem. I had to threaten to sue the dealership to provide and install the manufacturer's suggested replacement parts to resolve the issue. The replacement parts were installed less than 60 days ago, and the problem has resurfaced. When I spoke with 2 separate Nissan corporation representatives, they provided me false information, and they told me they considered the matter closed and if I was not satisfied then I should contact a lemon-law attorney! I demand the manufacturer and the dealer to refund my money entirely! they fraudently sold me a vehicle that is not safe to be on the road. Additionally, 2 additional problems regarding the driver's power seat and the radio have surfaced and the both the dealer and the manufacturer have done nothing to fix these problems as well.

47 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2004 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 03/30/2005

Approximately four months after purchasing my 2004 Nissan Titan I gradually began experiencing a 'shudder while braking' problem. The problem quickly escalated and became greater and greater. On March 30th, 2005, I took the truck into passport Nissan of marlow heights, maryland for repairs. At this point I learned through the service manager that Nissan was aware of the problem but they did not have permanent repair kit for the problem. My truck was out of service for one day and they returned my truck indicating that they resurfaced the rotors and replaced the brake pads. This procedure was only a temporary solution for the problem. Approximately 4,000 miles later the 'shudder w/braking' problem re-occurred. Just as before the problem escalated and became greater and greater. On July 07th, 2005, I returned my 2004 Nissan Titan to the same dealership for the same repair. On July 12th, 2005, I picked up my truck and discovered that no repairs had been made and the problem still existed. The service manager indicated to me that parts were on order. As of the date of this report, the problem still exist and Nissan does not have a corrective repair kit for this defect. The service manager also indicated that Nissan of America was aware of the problem and that they were working on a solution. To my knowledge there has been no recall for this defect and there probably should be one. The brakes on my truck are terrible and at time appear ineffective, especially in wet weather. In my opinion Nissan has not addressed this problem appropriately. I am aware of other Nissan Titan owners who are experiencing the same problem and none of them have received notification about this defect or anything that Nissan is doing to rectify the defect.

48 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2004 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 03/29/2005

I purchased a 2004 Nissan Titan in November, at about 2,500 miles I noticed a slight shudder when I applied my brakes at higher speeds. The situation deteriorated over the next thousand miles or so until I could feel the shudder when I used my brakes going just a couple miles an hour. The dealership replaced the the pads and machined the rotors which took care of the problem, but let me know that there was a good chance this would occur again. I was told that Nissan had a permanent fix for the problem, but since this was the first occurence I wasn't elligible for that repair.

49 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2004 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 03/15/2005

With 7000 on the odometer the vehicle developed a terrible case of squealing brakes, where Nissan replaced brakes and rotors. Now, with 14000 on the odometer the vehicle has developed terrible shudder of steering wheel when brakes are applied, worse at higher speeds. Dealer has ordered new brakes and rotors for me, waiting for them to come in.

50 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2004 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 03/02/2005

When brakes were applied vehicle did not stop properly. Took vehicle to dealer, and consumer was informed that rotors were warped, and undersized, making it hard to handle vehicle when applying the brakes. Contacted Nissan customer service and they confirmed the vehicle had been manufactured with undersized rotors and brake pads. They would not replaced undersized rotor of pads. They would/and did turn the original rotors and replaced pads with identical undersized pads. While in stop and go traffic brakes became less and less affective possible from over heating.

To whom it concerns, I own a 2004 Nissan Titan truck that has a major flaw in the braking system. I seriously think that I will be causing an accident if this problem is not fixed. I've been back to the dealership 3 times to have this problem fixed. They admitt to the faulty brakes sytem, but do not have a permanent fix. I am very concerned for the safety of my family. Please contact Nissan and force them to recall all the Titans and fix this well known problem. I can't believe in the year 2005 it is ok to have thousands of trucks roaming our highways with faulty brakes?.

Same warpage of front brakes. Dealer said all they are doing is turning rotors. If the shudder continues, what happens when the caliper bracket breaks? the caliper spins and tears the brake line loose, wow no brakes. Nisson will be sued if this is not fixed quickly.

61 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2004 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 01/16/2005

I purchased a 2004 Nissan Titan le in November of 2004. When the vehicle reached a little over 4,000 miles the brakes started to shudder and the steering wheel would vibrate and also the brake pedal. The local Nissan dealership replaced the brake pads and ground the rotors and the problem appeared fixed. After another 2,000 miles of driving the brake pedal had to be pushed further and further closer to the floorboard to get brakes to stop the truck. Then the steering wheel began to vibrate along with the pedal. The truck was taken back to the local dealership again and the rotors were turned again appearing to solve the problem. After about 200 miles the brakes began to fade again. The steering wheel and the pedal have not started to vibrate yet but going with the past history of the problem it should only be a matter of time. I want Nissan to fix the problem immediately. The problem could not only be a safety problem due to no brake pedal when applied but also vibration from applying pedal. Lastly a truck with only 6500 miles should not keep getting the rotors turned over and over.

62 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2004 Nissan Titan

64 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2004 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 01/03/2005

Nissan 2004 Titan pickup and front brake problems. The brakes are vibrating when you come to a stop. The Nissan dealership describe it as warped rotors on both front brakes. The Nissan dealership said they would temporarily fix the problem until Nissan came out with a permanent fix. As you apply the brakes the steering wheel will shake violently. The consumer has not had the temporary fix done, still waiting on Nissan for the recall notice. The Nissan dealer said that Nissan is working on a permanent fix. Consumer states that when brakes are applied steering is hard to control.

65 Brake Disc Rotor problem of the 2004 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 12/23/2004

Numerous problems have arisen with my leased 2004 Nissan Titan king cab. Including serious vibration problems that occurred upon braking to the point the vehicle was parked until the dealer finally agreed to at least 'turn' the rotors. Eventually brakes were replaced by dealer 6 months after the initial problem. Currently facing problems including a noise at startup that everyone can hear except the dealer mechanics, an overflow problem with gas tank even though just a few liters have been put in an empty tank. Additionally major problems with driver side door refusing to open from both the inside and outside. Dealer has realigned door numerous times but problem continues. Dealer states the door problem is due to a poor design with a heavy door on inadequate hinges. Occasionally have had to drive while holding door closed. Extremely dangerous considering weight of door. This truck is barely one year old and problems just keep piling up with little dealer support offered.

This must be a defect from factory.

Failure Date: 11/25/2004
